"Boss?" he called out ever so softly.
Richard responded with just a tilt of one of his brows.
"Are you in love?" Gideon asked his boss but regretted it immediately.
"Have you been too free these days?" Richard said through gritted teeth, looking as if his assistant had just fed him sour grapes.
Gideon clamped his lips shut, backtracking with wide eyes. "I apologize, sir. That was out of line."
Richard didn't respond immediately. He turned his attention back to the photos on his phone, his thumb swiping slowly over the screen.
"Send the message at once," he said flatly. "I'm sure you know what you should and shouldn't write."
"Definitely, boss." Gideon quickly retrieved his iPad. Choosing to ignore the stiff and brittle air between them, he began typing.
