The sheriff was shocked at what the detective was implying. It took him by storm as he had actually not been anticipating that anyone would ask him that in a million years. He had a nervous look on his face as he looked at the detective, taking the cigarette out of his mouth like he had just been placed in slow motion.
He started with a nervous scoff.
"What do you mean, detective?" He asked the younger man.
Detective Kelly could tell that he was nervous. Perhaps the sheriff had missed it but he was actually good with profiling people.
"It's clear. You seem to have this rather blind loyalty to him." Detective Kelly said.
The man burst into a loud laugh that gave way into a series of coughs as he could not believe his ears. Whatever the detective was saying right now, he did not want to give him reasons to find fault with him.
"Are you kidding me? Loyalty? When on earth have I ever been loyal to Facino or anyone?" He demanded.
