I flew to school the next day.
It was a Sunday, which made it the perfect time. I decided to leave in the morning, and surprisingly, Christian didn't make a deal out of it.
The second I stood in front of my door, I took a deep breath, and my nerves began to calm. It felt like I'd been in a place without air and was finally able to breathe again.
Excitement surged through me, washing away the fear, panic and anxiety. Not even the dust that greeted me when I stepped inside my house could take away the thrill of being back.
It took four hours to clean the entire place on my own, and another two to unpack. By the time I finished, it was already six and I was starving. I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast. My last meal with Christian before I left.
Thankfully, Elizabeth had packed some delicious dishes and my fridge was filled with them.
