"Is it necessary for him to live with you?" Hui asked and I could sense the disagreement in his tone.
"It's not necessary but I need a familiar face around," I explained and felt him keep staring at me.
When I could no longer ignore his unrelenting stare, I looked at him just to find him still staring at me with an obvious frown. This time around he wasn't smiling like he used to.
"He's a man," he simply said and I would've laughed but I didn't.
"And so are you."
"I am, but I chose not to live with you because it will be inappropriate." He reasoned.
"Jelly and I are… how do I put it?" I gave it a thought before saying, "... always on each other's neck. There's no way he has feelings for me if that is what you're thinking."
"That's exactly what I'm thinking, Miss Ingrid." He agreed and my eyebrows lifted in admiration.
The thing I liked about Hui was the fact that he was very straightforward right from when he let me know his intentions.
