Chapter 91 - Chapter 91

### **Chapter 91: Shadows of the Past**

The chapter begins in Mujin's office, a spacious room filled with the soft hum of conversation and the occasional *CLICK* of a pen. The Ss-ranked hunters of the Lannister House are gathered, their expressions a mix of curiosity and apprehension. Mujin, seated at the head of the table, clears his throat, the sound cutting through the room like a sharp *THUD*.

"As the leader of the Lannister House and the president of the association," Mujin begins, his voice steady, "I've come to a decision. I can no longer lead the Lannister House effectively. Therefore, I'm appointing a new leader."

The room falls silent, the tension palpable. Mujin gestures toward the door. "Come in," he says, his tone firm. The door creaks open with a soft *SQUEAK*, and all eyes turn to see Madagascar step inside. He stands tall, his presence commanding respect. Mujin continues, "Madagascar will be the new leader of the Lannister House. I'm also promoting him to S-rank."

Frozen, one of the senior hunters, raises an eyebrow. "What about Soji? He's been with us for years."

Mujin's expression remains calm. "Madagascar has more potential. He's the best choice for the role."

Madagascar bows deeply, his voice respectful. "I'm honored. I won't let you down." He takes his seat among the other S-ranked hunters, the only one at the lower rank but clearly holding his own.

Mujin shifts the conversation, his tone growing serious. "Now, onto more pressing matters. The hunt for Sakamoto has hit a dead end. Wang, one of our own, is hospitalized. The only clue we have is what he wrote: 'The Shapeshifter.' I need to know what happened. Vincent," he says, turning to the shadowy figure in the corner, "you'll interrogate Wang. Even in his current state, we need answers."

Frozen nods in agreement. "Vincent has perfected the Interrogation Technique. He's the best for this."

Mujin's voice is firm. "Good. Let's get to the hospital immediately."

As the hunters stand to leave, Mujin taps Madagascar on the shoulder, his voice low. "You can do this. I'm leaving the Lannister Legacy in your hands. Soji may not be happy, but I trust you'll handle it when the time comes."

Madagascar nods, his expression resolute. "Thank you, Mujin. I won't let you down." He hesitates, then asks, "Any word from Sakamoto?"

Mujin's face darkens. "It's been two months. Nothing."

The scene shifts to the floating island, where Sakamoto is drenched in sweat, his breath coming in ragged gasps. His body blurs as he strikes a wooden structure designed to mimic a human body. The sound of his strikes echoes with a sharp *THWACK-THWACK*, but he misses several vital points, his frustration evident.

Jayesh steps forward, his voice calm but firm. "Learning this technique isn't easy," he says, placing a hand on Sakamoto's shoulder. "You've been at it for hours. Take a break. I've got something else for you to try later."

Sakamoto nods, his chest heaving as he collapses onto the ground. "I just… I need to get this right."

Jayesh smiles faintly. "You will. But rest first."

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Mujin, Vincent, and Frozen stand beside Wang's bed. The room is quiet, the only sound the faint *BEEP* of the heart monitor. Wang lies motionless, his face pale and drawn. Mujin nods to Vincent. "Do it."

Vincent steps forward, his hands glowing faintly as he places them on Wang's head. He exhales slowly, muttering, "Interrogation Technique: Will of Another." The room seems to shift, the air growing heavy as Vincent's consciousness is transported into Wang's mind.

Inside Wang's memories, Vincent finds himself in a cozy kitchen. Wang is seated at a table, devouring a large, juicy chicken. The sound of chewing fills the air, accompanied by the faint *CRUNCH* of bones. Wang finishes his meal, standing up with a satisfied sigh. He walks to the door, opening it to find a man standing a few meters away. The man's face is obscured, but his presence is unnerving.

"Who are you?" Wang asks, his voice tinged with suspicion.

The man doesn't respond. Instead, he steps forward, his movements deliberate. The memory begins to blur, the edges fading into darkness as Vincent is pulled deeper into Wang's mind.
