Chapter 67 - 67

"I'll go change into regular clothes and can get some food on my way back. Anyone have any suggestions?" Joseph asked.

"How about pizza," Kid Flash said eagerly. The rest gave a nod. Can't go wrong with pizza.

When he was able to use the Speed State, his metabolism had increased and his daily food intake had doubled so it might be even worse for speedsters. He'd make a note to ask Wally later.

Plus, Kori liked to eat a lot too.

"Sure. I'll be back in thirty." Joseph said as he used the Zeta tube intending to order a lot.

"Alright, now that we're all acquainted," Robin said, clapping his hands together, "who's up for some team bonding? How about we tour the clubhouse?"

Miss Martian perked up. "I could show you around! I've been living here, so I know it well."

"What about Nova?" Kori asked, looking around.

"We can always show him again when he comes back," Wally said with a shrug.

Kori nodded, though she wished Joseph could be here for the full experience.

The Cave wasn't just the secret hideout of the Team—it was an entire mountain, hollowed out and reinforced by Superman and Green Lantern. Once the Justice League's first base, it had been abandoned for the Hall of Justice when its location was compromised. Now, it belonged to the next generation of heroes.

Miss Martian seemed a little apprehensive about living in a place with a known location, but Robin and Kid Flash assured her that they were "hiding in plain sight."

As they walked, a sharp scent filled the air.

"Does anyone else smell smoke?" Superboy asked, suddenly alert.

Miss Martian gasped. "My cookies!"

She shot into the kitchen just in time to pull a tray of thoroughly burnt cookies from the oven. Her face fell at the sight of them.

"It's okay," Wally picked one up and chomped down. The cookie practically crunched into dust in his mouth, but he forced a smile. "Mmm! Just how I like 'em."

Miss Martian's lips twitched into a smile, but she still looked unsure.

"It is a wonderful thing that you wanted to share," Kaldur said warmly. "That is what matters."

"Besides," Kori added, her voice cheerful, "baking is a skill and like all skills it needs to be practiced. I myself have a terrible time trying to avoid a catastrophe every time I step in the kitchen."

That got a few chuckles from the group.

Kaldur took the moment to formally introduce himself. "I am Kaldur'ahm, though my friends call me Kaldur."

"Wally West," Kid Flash added, grinning. "I trust you with my secret identity unlike Boy Wonder over here."

"Robin," the youngest of the group said, though his playful smirk told them he wasn't about to share more.

Miss Martian smiled. "My Martian name is M'gann M'orzz, but I also go by Megan."

"I am Koriand'r of Tamaran," Kori said. "But on Earth, I am called Kory Anders."

They all turned to Superboy, but he remained silent, shifting awkwardly. M'gann, sensing his hesitation, reached out telepathically. [Don't worry, we'll find an Earth name for you too!]

Superboy's eyes flared with irritation. "Stay out of my head!" he snapped, causing everyone to pause.

M'gann winced. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean—on Mars, we all communicate like this."

Kaldur placed a gentle hand on her shoulder. "It is different on Earth. Using such powers without consent is an invasion of privacy."

"Yeah," Wally added. "Superboy's got a history with G-Gnomes messing with his head. Telepathy's a sore spot."

M'gann's eyes widened with guilt. "I'm really sorry, Superboy. I won't do it again."

Superboy sighed, looking away. "Whatever."

M'gann bit her lip, then suddenly brightened. "I know how I can make it up to you! Come with me!"

Superboy hesitated, but when Kori placed a gentle hand on his arm and smiled, he let out a breath and nodded. "Fine."

The group followed M'gann to the hangar, where a sleek, organic-looking spacecraft rested.

"This is my Bio-Ship!" she announced proudly. "It's a Martian shuttle, and it responds to my thoughts."

"Sweet!" Wally said, running a hand along the surface.

"Come on in! Let's fly around for a few minutes." M'gann invited.

One by one, they climbed aboard, marveling at the smooth, futuristic interior. The ship responded to M'gann's touch, lifting off smoothly. As they soared through the sky, Wally leaned closer to M'gann.

"So, M'gann," he said with a smirk. "Can all Martians shape-shift?"

She nodded. "Of course."

"Then show us!"

M'gann grinned and changed her appearance, shifting into a copy of Starfire. She then shape-shifts into both Robin and Wally, though is unable to mimic male features.

"Still working on that part," she admitted.

"Can you also density shift like MM?" Robin asked.

"Not yet. I'm also working on that too," she said.

"No worries," Robin said. "At least you're better off than Wally. Every time he tries to vibrate through a wall, he ends up with a bloody nose."

Wally groaned. "Dude, not cool."

The group laughed, even Superboy cracked a smirk.

"The Bio-Ship can also camouflage!" M'gann said. She demonstrated, making the ship vanish from sight, then return.

Before they could marvel at it further, a sudden gust of wind sent the Bio-Ship, and them inside, tumbling.
