After that, Ayaka set his teacup down and leaned in with a warm smile.
"So," he said brightly, "how is the pregnancy going? How is everything with him? Is he adjusting well? Has he gotten baby clothes yet? Shoes? Bags? Do they know the gender?"
Nori shifted shyly under the attention, but seeing how genuinely curious and excited Ayaka looked, he smiled and answered, "Well… I went shopping a few weeks ago. I got some clothes, tiny shoes… even some little hats. It's been really fun, actually."
Ayaka clapped his hands together softly, delighted. "Oh, I'm so glad! And how are you feeling, dear?"
Nori gave a small laugh. "I don't really have much morning sickness anymore. In the beginning, it was awful, but now I'm just hungry all the time. I feel like I could eat a whole cow."
Ayaka giggled behind his hand, the sound light and musical. "That's completely normal. Your body is working so hard to grow that little one. Eat whatever you crave — even if it's strange."
