Chapter 22 - 022: Tong Mama's Private Kitchen

Stepping out of the elevator, there was an ancient-style wall shadow. Green plants climbed all over the grey stones, and a couple of brightly colored small birds were hidden among them, partially visible. Water flowed from the crack on top of the artificial hill, "ding-dong," falling into the small flower pool below.

In the pool, a pink lotus was blooming.

With mountains and water, coupled with the open moon gate not far away, a hidden tranquility could be seen inside. This layout... Mu Qiuniang narrowed her eyes slightly. It seemed that this private restaurant truly was a "hidden dragon, crouching tiger," even hiring a Feng Shui Master.

Perhaps, the owner of the restaurant was a Feng Shui Master themselves.

"Wife, this way." Clearly, Jiang Nuo wasn't here for the first time. He skillfully escorted her through the moon gate.

"Sir, Madam, hello, do you have a reservation?" Just past the moon gate, an ancient-style maid greeted them.

"No, just arrange a quieter spot for us, we haven't had dinner yet," Jiang Nuo said.

"The private seating is no longer available, would the main hall be okay?"

"Fine."

"Alright, sir, please follow me."

The maid led them to a corner in the main hall, where there was a flower stand. Ivy climbed over the stand, blocking the dining table in the corner, creating a secluded spot.

"Here will do." Jiang Nuo gentlemanly pulled out a chair for Mu Qiuniang, allowing her to sit first before seating himself.

"Sir, please order." The maid handed a menu to Jiang Nuo.

While ordering, Jiang Nuo consulted Mu Qiuniang for her opinion before ordering a few specialty dishes and a pot of health soup.

"Okay, please wait a moment!" The maid took the order and left.

"The food here is particularly delicious. Last time I came here with a friend for a meal, I fell in love with it and always wanted to bring you here, but never had the chance." Unfortunately, at that time he was still in a hidden marriage, wanting to bring her along did not necessarily mean he wanted to appear with her "publicly."

It can be said that during these five years of marriage, unless he went to her "home," he couldn't see her at all.

Mmm... thinking about it makes him feel aggrieved!

Jiang Nuo asked Mu Qiuniang for compensation.

"What do you want to eat?" Mu Qiuniang thought for a moment and asked.

Jiang Nuo was choked up. In her mind, is he just a foodie?

Well, if "eating" refers to her, then he indeed is a "foodie"!

Jiang Nuo leaned close to her ear and whispered, "I want to eat you."

Mu Qiuniang blinked, her long eyelashes fluttering like little fans, "Haven't you already eaten?" It was just before they left.

"I don't care, I still want more~" he rested his chin on someone's shoulder, acting spoiled.

Mu Qiuniang felt a bit helpless, "Let's talk about it when we get home."

Before long, the maid brought their food.

Jiang Nuo excitedly introduced each dish to her, explaining what it was called and what it was made of; all of them were delicious.

Mu Qiuniang slightly lowered her head, although her face showed no expression, she listened very attentively.

This greatly encouraged Jiang Nuo, making him even more enthusiastic. These were all dishes he had asked the maid to introduce last time he visited, now he was just repeating them in different words.

It must be said, Jiang Nuo's memory was very good, almost photographic. Even though he didn't know when he became so skilled, he was quite delighted when he accidentally discovered his strong memory.

Hehe... with this, memorizing lines for acting would be so easy in the future!

Of course, Jiang Nuo didn't know that ever since being with Mu Qiuniang, she had fed him plenty of good things. The benefits were numerous, and his memory improvement was just one of the most trivial ones.

Mu Qiuniang listened intently, mainly to satisfy his urge to talk. Being a medical cuisine expert herself, how could she not discern the ingredients used in these dishes on the table?

It was merely that the ingredients were cultivated with low-grade spiritual soil, naturally making them taste good, and eating them has certain health benefits too.

Normally, Mu Qiuniang often cooked Spirit Food for him.

Initially, she didn't dare to give him too much, fearing his body couldn't handle it. Gradually, as time went on, more and more impurities were expelled from his body, his capacity for Spirit Food improved significantly, allowing her preparations to become more refined and exquisite.

As for the materials used at Tong Mama's Private Kitchen, he had already eaten them years ago.

"So, how's the taste?" Jiang Nuo asked expectantly, after letting her taste a bite.

"Mm!" Mu Qiuniang's gaze was indulgent as she nodded. Compared to those ordinary restaurants, the food here was indeed much better.

With her affirmation, Jiang Nuo was so happy his eyes turned into crescent moons. "Come on, eat a bit more. If you like it, I'll bring you here again next time."

As the couple was chatting, a sweet voice said, "Director Luo, they are so rude to you, it's just a table, but they won't give it to you."

With such words, the man addressed as Director Luo naturally couldn't hold back his anger, roaring, "Isn't it just a restaurant? If I ask you to arrange a table, just do it, why all the nonsense?"

"Sorry, sir. Since you don't have a reservation, all the tables on this floor are already taken. You can wait a bit, or come back next time," the maid said, neither humble nor overbearing.

Originally, this had nothing to do with Jiang Nuo and Mu Qiuniang; they were here to eat, why should they care about other customers?

But soon, they were singled out.

"Nonsense! Director Luo, they must be looking down on you. There were tables available when we just came in."

The maid replied, "Apologies, there were indeed tables earlier, but since you didn't confirm immediately for dining, that table has been assigned to other guests."

At Tong Mama's Private Kitchen, with so many guests, how could they deny other customers a table just because you arrived first without confirming, while the later ones directly booked a table?

Director Luo was ashamed and angry, "I was here first, why give my table to someone else?"

"Sorry, sir, but you didn't confirm this table earlier. Moreover, since it was a table in the main hall, you weren't satisfied and then left..." Who would have thought you'd return again now?

"I just left temporarily, went to the bathroom," Director Luo grew angrier. Damn it! He just took a bathroom break and had a quick romp with this little demon, and the table was gone?!

"Sorry, sir, there truly are no available tables now. Otherwise, could you wait a bit, or come back next time?"

"I don't want to~ You promised, and you're going back on your word~" The woman clinging to Director Luo's arm whined. She'd heard so much about how delicious the dishes at Tong Mama's Private Kitchen were, even said to enhance beauty, eating a meal was more effective than a beauty salon treatment. Now, after finally snagging a rich businessman for a visit, having no "meat" was one thing, but not being able to taste the dishes before leaving would be a big loss for her!
