"Did you call me?"
Lily Turner asked knowingly, even though the message in the phone clearly stated that he had called her that night. She couldn't help but ask anyway.
Upon hearing this, Easton Holmes turned his head to glance at the woman who was obviously aware, "You've seen it, haven't you?"
"Have you been busy these days?"
Lily hesitated for a moment before voicing the question in her mind. She had sent him a message three days ago asking him to call back, but he only called today. She wasn't trying to interrogate him; she was just curious if he hadn't used his phone at all these past three days.
"I went out for a military exercise, didn't bring my phone."
A week ago, Easton had led his elite team to a military exercise with another unit. Before departure, everyone, including him, handed in their phones to be kept at the base.
After the exercise ended and he returned to the base, the first thing he saw when he turned on his phone was the message she had sent him.
