Finally leaving the residence of the First Family, Lynch donned the Advisor Badge given to him by the Matron. The patrolling Dark Elf guards glanced at the badge and automatically avoided him, no longer stepping forward to interrogate; while the patrol members composed of Trolls and Ogres quickly nodded and bowed to the Mage, putting on a look of fear and flattery.
In the surface world, these creatures are the butchers of villages, wielding weapons to attack human settlements, plundering their food and wealth, *poor women, and then setting fire to burn the villages to the ground (the Trolls are afraid of fire, so they won't light the fire). In the mouths of ordinary surface residents, they are equivalent to terrifying existences, scary stories used to stop children from crying. But in this Underdark, they are mere slaves, barely a step above goblins in terms of being cannon fodder.
