Sophie Foster's seemingly capricious behavior was actually meant to dissolve the awkwardness.

It not only eased the atmosphere but also provided Nathan Moore a reason to back down.

Especially since the man behind her was also chiming in, looking at Nathan Moore with feigned displeasure and furrowed brows.

"Did you hear that, Nathan? My little Sophie is unhappy, hurry up and put the cigarette away."

Nathan Moore glanced disdainfully at Sophie Foster, who was shaking her head and glaring at him, and muttered, "What a fuss." Nonetheless, he still tossed the cigarette onto the low table.

"Come on, guys, let the women talk, and we brothers will continue to play cards." Felix Shaw, who was still at the card table, eagerly suggested, hoping to win more while his luck was good.

Nathan Moore looked sideways towards Titus Zane who was sitting beside him, who had been sitting slightly turned away from Mia Foster, leaving his back to him.
