Chapter 1 - Dragon World

Dragon World, Great Xi Empire, Xi Imperial City

*Bzzz* Bzz*

All of a sudden, the air crackled, the clouds were cut apart like dough, and the sky split into two.

A blue light swept across the vast sky, engulfing the realm and coloring it blue.

Thunderstorms bursts throughout the realm as if a disaster was about to take place but they all calmed down in an instant.

The powerful people of the world looked at the sky and observed it trying to find the cuase but they were to be disappointed.

"Ah! Ah! Mic check!" a childish foreign voice echoed in the sky

All preparations complete!"

"Opening Portal… 10%… 20%… 30%… 100%…"

The voice echoed again, and a portal materialized in the void.

The portal was purple, and if one looked inside the portal, they could see countless planets and solar systems in it.

A tall young man who looked to be in his 20s walked out of the portal.

After walking out, he looked around the world, and a screen appeared before his eyes displaying information about the world with a message that seemed like a warning.

"Have fun, keke… System Logging Out. See you, dear host, in a year."

The childish voice rang in the young man's ears and vanished.

The tall young man's hair was golden-colored; a golden armor covered him from chest to toe.

He held a huge scimitar in his right hand; an awl circled around him.

The surrounding air was whispering echoes of dread as if this existence was supreme, but just as the voice ended, all his weapons and the air of the supreme vanished into nothingness, and the young man fell down.

"Fxxck you, you b.sta*d system," the young man cursed as he fell down from the sky.

Thud!

The young man crashed down on the ground and passed out.

The tall young man's name is Jun Xiao.

The young man then woke up and dusted off the dust off him and looked at the city gate just a distance walk ahead of him.

The city gate was made out of huge stones, archaic characters were drawn with golden blood on it.

A huge golden dragon head was etched as a plaque with blood tears falling from its eyes.

The walls of the city were 100 meters high and were covered in the same golden blood.

Seeing the Golden blood Jun Xiao was spooked but he knew that life in Dragon World was terrible for people.

As he quickened his pace, he arrived before the city gate.

"State your identity," a deep voice echoed in Jun Xiao's ear as Jun Xiao walked towards the gate; he was stopped by the guards.

"I'm a mercenary from the South. "I don't have any identity badge with me," Jun Xiao said as he stepped towards the guard and took out a good coin.

"You can take this for a drink sir", Jun Xiao whispered and bowed before them.

"Please let me enter the city", he pleaded further.

"Uh, uh! "Okay, go in", the guard who took the gold coin sheepishly said, and let Jun Xiao in.

This was the Imperial Xi City, where the Great Emperor Xi resided.

The city was divided into 4 Areas. The Palace Area, The General Area, The Noble Area and The Common Are.

The Palace Area was where the Great Xi Palace was.

The General Area was where the Great General's who fought with Great Emperor Xi resided.

The Noble Area was where the Noble Clans resided and the Common area was where general people resided.

The Imperial City was always full of hustle and bustle.

Merchants and Cultivators would be seldom seen interacting and Pavillions were also built cor merchants to carry out trade.

As Jun Xiao walked inside, he noticed people bowing & donating offerings before a towering statue.

Curious, he walked ahead and arrived before the statue.

His eyes went wide as he looked at every curve and detail of the towering statue before him.

It was of a young man, draped in a magnificent dragon robe that seemed to shimmer even in the dark night.

The young man's posture was commanding, one foot firmly planted atop the dragon's massive head, his hand gripping the beast's throat as if he had the strength of a god.

The dragon's expression was twisted in agony, writhing beneath the young man. Its sharp serpent's face was frozen just before its final moment of death.

Jun Xiao couldn't help but be captivated by the young man's expression.

His face looked fierce and resolute, eyes that seemed to burn through the very world of illusion.

The golden hue inside his eyes glowed, striking in contrast to the cold stone.

Jun Xiao felt as though the statue's eyes were staring right back at him.

Golden blood was splattered across the young man's chest and arms, but it only made his image more intense.

The statue didn't just signify the brutal battle between the Young Man and the Dragon, but also courage to stand against anyone.

That statue was of Great Emperor Xi, which people had erected in order to spread his name far and wide.

Every day, the people of the city would bow towards the statue and pray for the well-being of their Emperor, for he was one of the beings responsible for the beginning of the Human Era.

Jun Xiao quickened his pace and observed the inside of the imperial city.

There were various shops selling all kinds of stuff.

Some people were busy bargaining, while some were dining in a bar drinking alcohol and flirting with waiters.

The Imperial City was very lively.

The people of the city looked similar to the humans of his home planet, but there was a striking difference between the people here and his planet.

The people of Dragon World were born with an "X" mark on their forehead, which was actually a slave brand injected into their bloodlines when humans were slaves of the dragons.

The people here are still born with the slave brand.

Some people were as tall as a small building, while some were as bulky as hulk.

"Hey! Have you head tomorrow the Dragon Blood Awakening Ceremony will be held", as Jun Xiao walked ahead he overhead some people discussing excitedly.

"Excuse me, what is the Dragon Blood Awakening Ceremony?", Jun Xiao asked.
