Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: The Lost Historian

The city at night felt different—sharper, filled with unseen eyes. Every shadow held the weight of a secret, every quiet street hummed with the possibility of danger.

Satya, Saanvi, Aryan, and Virendra had no time to waste. The person who had been searching for Veer Meghawal's past was out there, and they needed to find them before Devashish did.

They gathered in a cramped hotel room, the tension thick as they laid out everything they knew.

Virendra spread out the notes they had recovered from the hidden chamber—the ones that weren't centuries old. The handwriting was hurried, filled with theories and crossed-out names. Whoever had written them had been trying to piece together the truth just like they were.

Saanvi traced a finger over the fading ink. "There's a pattern here. Look—these notes mention royal records, but they're all dated within the last few years."

Satya's pulse quickened. "Then that means whoever wrote them is still alive."

Aryan grabbed his laptop. "If this person was researching Veer Meghawal, they must have left some trace of their work online. Even if Devashish tried to erase it, there's always something left behind."

It took hours, but then—they found it.

An old academic paper, written under the name Samar Pratap Singh.

A historian. A former professor. And someone who had mysteriously disappeared two years ago.

Virendra exhaled sharply. "If he vanished, he was either silenced… or he went into hiding."

Saanvi's eyes widened as she scanned the document. "Look at this. He was researching lost royal records. And here—he believed that Veer wasn't executed in the way the official history claims."

Satya's heart pounded. Samar had been on the same path they were.

But where was he now?

Aryan searched deeper, his fingers flying over the keyboard. "He used to teach at a university in Jodhpur. Then one day, he just… stopped. No official reason, no articles about his disappearance. Just silence."

Satya stared at the screen. "We need to find him."

Saanvi hesitated. "And if Devashish already has?"

No one answered.

There was only one way to find out.
