Genesis scanned around the room. The blood ridden, horrid room. The air smelled terrible, but Genesis was used to that by now.
He made sure to lose the trace of blood from Hallowion. He wanted to make sure the beast was left here. He made sure that the Grey Soul would never see anything outside of this White Room.
Genesis took a quiet breath. He tried to accept the fact that his treacherous adventure was over, but the excitement of killing the beast made him celebrate.
Genesis stomped his feet on the ground, he put his hands up to his face. Both hands in a fist, he shook his knees tremendously. He had done it.
It was so epic. The way he just calculated everything. The way he absolutely fooled the Grey Soul of the White Room. Even the way he roared.
His sword glowed with a golden power, letting everything and everyone know he was there. They all must have looked up at the lights above and been in awe. That was so cool.
The way his sword literally screamed out. He never knew that his emotions could rage that much.
He never knew that the power of his soul would be the one to same them all.
Genesis sighed, accepting and enjoying the fact that it was truly over. No loophole for the Heart to survive. No way Sephina could have missed. It was over.
Genesis turned around and saw a sight that he knew he was going to see. A sight that should not have made him feel any emotion, but a blue tear rolled down his eye. The tear then entered a crevice in his mouth. The salt made the irony all the more obvious.
He walked over to something that was close to reaching his death.
Debmaw.
He crouched over the lying bird. Moving out the crowds of silver armorded people out of the way. He wanted to see his friend even if this was the last time.
The bird tried to speak, but Genesis gave him a heartfelt hug before he could utter a word. His years were now more frequent. They came in swarms, each one falling on the bird's feathers.
The bird was finally freed from Genesis's heartwarming grasp. He then proclaimed in a raspy voice.
"Ah, I wish I had gotten to see a dream once more. I wonder what it would have been. But maybe I don't need to dream to accommodate the impossible. This was a dream I had longed for for several years. But you, Genesis, made it possible to be achieved. I truly do thank you for that. I truly thank you for my final dream."
Genesis tried to wipe the tears from his face because they clouded his vision. It was a vision he wanted to see. To think that Genesis hated everything in this creature. But now he was crying over the death of something he swore to kill.
He had not known Debmaw as lifetime friends, but he had known him as unique. Unique in the way he spoke. Unique in what his goals were. If anything, Debmaw was freed from the grasp of the White Room long ago. He was never confined by this room. He was a free bird.
Now, this bird could fly away in the afterlife. Genesis fell to his knees and bawled his eyes out. Each tear stinging him. He cried not just for the bird but for everyone here. He cried for those who died of their own atrocious deeds. He cried for those who died of the unveilment of the Agents. He cried for those who were less fortunate than himself. He cried for that poor man who even after being left with nothing but a silver sword and rotting body the man still fought till his very last breath.
It was not fair. Genesis did not understand why the good had to die and the vile could go on living more than a single second. It was completely and consistently rigged against the morally right. It was not fair.
The emotions of grief, sorrow, joy, freedom, and anger mixed together. His emotions were like a witch's cauldron. The ingredients forming anew, a combination of his feelings created...
Ambivalence
The emotions swieled in Genesis like a typhoon. They fought and conflicted against one another, but all it did was make Genesis hurt more. For the first time in a long time his soul was truly damaged. And a simple repair could not fix this damage.
This damage was permanent. This damage would stay with him till he died. This made Genesis wish that his pathetic life would cone to an end and death would embrace him in it's cold arms.
He used his sword as a crutch, he hoisted himself up and onto his feet. He brushed off the crowd of onlookers and said that he was fine even though he was not.
He scanned the room and saw many people. Friends, comrades. All those who never gave up all those who survived no matter what. All those who deserved to live.
Genesis wandered around for a while. His head was filled with random thoughts. He was distraught and distracted. He waited and waited, floating around like he was just taking up space in the world.
He floated like he was nothing. Just empty space. His mind was now just a voided space. Gone where the happy, sad and mixed thoughts. He once cackled then he started to cry again.
With each second his mind fractured. A person was not supposed to experience all of that. Especially not Genesis. Sure everyone had gone through what Genesis went through but it was the little extra that broke him.
They did not have to defeat the actual vessel of the White Room. They did not have to face the many organs of the White Room and come out alive. They did not have to face a dragon. They did not have to be traumatised by an Agent. They did not have to get their soul destroyed and then replaced. They did not have to face Hallowion. Did they?
Genesis looked back on his time here. He realised that his time in the White Room was a tragedy. A tragedy meant to kill him. Yet here he was. Here he was victorious.
Jae commanded the soldiers to find their way back to the gate as it should have been open by now. Genesis stop his sulking and followed the command of his king.
Jae's reign was soon to come to an end. Some people would decide to join or start their own crew. Then this was the time for final goodbyes.
They trotted downwards. For the first time in a long time they had their swords in sheath. They had their guard down.
'I missed this feeling. The feeling of safety. Not strength or power but safety. It has been too long since I had ever felt this. I may not feel safe in a long time. So I need to enjoy this. I need to savour it for its oh so gracious feeling of protection.'
Genesis reminisced as he walked forward. Each step leading him closer to his new life. A life of pure adventure. There may be obstacles ahead, some even more grand than this but Genesis would prevail he always did.
In the end Genesis was an obstacle himself. He would be the end for many ACTS and maybe even people. He would also be the endgoal for many people. Genesis knew that he would grow so powerful that people would use him as their strength threshold.
Others may use him as a mentor. But all would know him as "one of the greatest". Yes, Genesis wanted that to be his fate. It felt fitting seeing as he was the strongest here. But it did not feel fulfilling. That was not his end goal that would be just the beginning.
With his emotions running. His sword gleamed with a golden sound. It felt pleasant to the ears. Genesis then wondered what would be his weapon of choice. Would he stick with his sword till the end or would he master many weapons before choosing his one.
So many questions for his new life. All of his questions would lead to answers one day. But for now he felt as if he had all the time in the world to relax.
'This was just the tutorial the real game was now beginning.'
Genesis thought as his looked upon the giant gate now wide open. They were back in the fake White Room. The gate was open the exit was closer than ever.
Some of them sprinted towards the exit as they could now escape this place. Genesis stayed behind a little bit because if he liked this place for one reason it would be for making him into the man he was now.
Lautaro walked over to Genesis, in a way of stability. Instead of his usual chaotic manner, he was calm and collected.
'Guess even he took the time to remember.'
"Are you going to run off into the gate or are you going to stay here for a little longer?"
Lautaro questioned.
"I'll stay a little longer. Just to prepare for the road ahead."
"When we make the crews and go on our grand adventure will you join us?"
"I think- I think I will."
A smile appeared on Lautaro's face. Then he went off to the first four.
The many that ran to the gate were surprised to see a creature facing the gate. The creature was small in stature and was in a suit. They immediately room their swords from their sheaths and were ready to fight.
"If you want to love don't do that."
A somewhat familiar voice said.
Kappa turned around, his face was completely straight and he ascended to the air, calling everyone's attention.
"Now that you have defeated the White Room you will have to form crews and sail across the galaxies. To help you on your journey you will be equipped with ADAMS and EVES."
When the creature said that. He waved two fingers and tons of microscopic chips flew into everyone's head. The act was painless, some of them didn't even know what had happened.
Then the voice. It was robotic and light. But it was there.
[Hello Genesis Blotch how may I be of service to you.]
'What are you? What will you do? And don't call me by my full name just call me Genesis.'
[I am a technological and evolutionary advancement built to assist beings in their journey in this world. I provide you information and access to view your Evolution Point.]
'What is the Evolution Point?'
[The Evolution Point would be like system window in a webnovel.]
'So was it a coincidence that you mentioned webnovels or do you just know I like them.'
[I know the things about you that you want me to know.]
'Are we you going to be in my head forever or is a temporary thing.'
[I will be at your service till your last breath.]
'Okay let's take on this new world together Adonis.'
[Is that what you will refer to me as?]
'My parents always said that if I had a brother they would call him Adonis. So that makes us brothers now.'
Genesis couldn't see Adonis but he knew that he was smiling.
Kappa waited until everyone was done with their mental conversation and he spoke once more.
"The full capability of your ADAMS and EVES are not available at the moment. They will be available once you enter this gate. Some of you may be furious at the White Room, don't be it was our mistake. The White Room is quadrillion of years old, it found a loophole in the ancient laws and was abusing it. It was serious but not serious enough to be acknowledged by the systems. We sincerely apologise to our clients. However you will now be graded by your achievements in the White Room."
Kappa said those last words with a smirk and Genesis did not like that.
[Genesis you first defeated the Vessel of the White Room. You then went on to kill countless Agents. You were sent to the lower layers of the White Room but yet you survived. You killed and contributed to the deaths of many of the organs of the White Room. Those included the Bladder, the Left Lung, the Right Lung, the Grey Soul and the Heart. You gained a divine soul and escaped the White Room.
Rank: Legendary.
[You will truly bring upon the Absence of Evolution.]
'What do you mena by the-'
"In order from worst to the greatest the ranks are Pathetic, Rare, Epic, Exclusive, Treacherous, Mythical and Legendary."
Kappa interrupted Genesis's thoughts and Genesis could see many sulking at their achievements and others smirking. He especially saw Lautaro ecstatic.
'But what did Adonis mean by the "Absence of Evolution"? It must not have been too important.'
Lautaro bragged about his achievements and asked Genesis.
"I got Treacherous what did you get?"
Genesis plainly responded.
"Legendary."
"For some reason I believe you."
Lautaro said a little bit less excited.
Genesis smiled as he walked over to his friends they were to start a crew and conquer the stars.
When Lautaro saw Genesis coming he put his arm over his shoulder and said.
"Look at mister Legendary over here."
Jae then said to Genesis.
"I personally got Mythical. How did you manage to get Legendary."
Genesis took a long time to think almost as if he was remembering all the things he did.
"How did I get Legendary? I just hated with all my heart."
His friends were a bit stunned. Even Noel was a little taken aback.
"Is it just me or is it a little cold in here?"
Lautaro said while imitating shivering.
He admit was he did say was cold and blunt but it was the truth. The way he survived through all of it was just hate. He hated the Agents, he hated the organs, he hated Hallowion and he especially hated the White Room.
"But that's behind us now. Let's look forward for this new journey."
"Agreed."
Everyone said.
The screen suddenly flashed on. It showed instructions. It said that a crew would have to find a ship. It also said that a crew was allowed a maximum capacity of 50 people. All those without a team by the end of the 30 minute time limit will die.
'We just have to safe as many people as possible then hope.'
All of Genesis's dreams were crushed when he saw the rankings. He was worth 20 people, Jae was worth 15, Noel was worth 7, Lautaro and Hana were both worth 5. If they really wanted to come together then they would only be able to take 3 people at most.
Many others were awarded rankings and eventually groups were being formed there were 2 groups of 50 people. There was a few groups of mixed numbers. But all that mattered to Genesis was that he would stay with his friends. After all they all agreed.
Genesis questioned Kappa, being a little bit nervous it took some time to say what he wanted to.
"How come I am worth 20 people that is ridiculous."
"Genesis Blotch I do apologise for upsetting you, but it just means you have the power to rival 20 people. It is not much in the world of evolution but for the tutorial it speaks volume of your genius. If I were you I would show my awards to the world and make them know my authority."
Genesis did not want to ask Kappa anymore questions because that did not turn out to well for the last person.
Genesis was left in confusion of who they would take. The baby was still not on a team despite him being an actual child. Genesis guessed that all the kind hearts had died a long time ago. Their team collectively decided to take the burden of the child.
Now there were two. Genesis spoke up.
"There is a person I want to make a means to an end with."
Genesis walked over with his team to a child who was screaming for people to let him join their team. He stretched out his hand.
"Would you like to join our team? Smudge?"
The child stuttered before answering.
"Y- Yes I would!"
Their team was complete, it was a little rough around the edged but it was still a team.
"Now the team building will be completed once you give your team a name. The strongest member of every team will grant their team a name."
Kappa said solemnly.
His team turned to Genesis as Lautaro tried to influence his mind with suggestions but he settled on a team name.
"How about The Genesis Cooperation?"
Lautaro nodded his head a bit before saying.
"I like that."
