Chapter 12 - ACT 1.11: The White Room

They walked through the now narrow flesh of the White Room searching. They were attempting to hear the sound of a steady heartbeat.

They suddenly felt the ground vibrating around them. If the White Roon was that big would its heart not be big enough to cause the vibrations? That was what they thought and it was also why they were they were searching for sound and vibrations.

They slashed at the meat of the room. The vibrations were more frequent and longer lasting so they knew they were getting closer.

They stabbed through the flesh with their spears and attacked the veins with their swords. They broke through the dead end and saw it. It was a huge lump of pompous, rusted and festered flesh. In the shape of a wall it surrounded a place.

"That may be were the heart is!"

Genesis blurted out. The king ordered the spearmen to advance. They tore through the barricade of the festered flesh and cautiously advanced forward.

The spearmen gave a silent command to the rest of the team to advance. When Genesis finally made it past the long barricade of flesh, he saw that there was no heart. The shaking from the ground must have come from something close to here as it was intensifying the closer they approached the center of the flesh guarded city.

They came closer to the source of the vibrations as many of them could barely stand on their feet. When they saw the source of the vibrations they were astonished. There were Agents, thousands of them.

Genesis was immediately surrounded by his cohort. They kept him in the middle of the dozens of them to keep him safe.

'It should be me keeping you safe.'

Genesis solemnly thought.

Genesis grunted his teeth at the sight of the Agents. There were many too many for his liking. He hated Agents didn't matter how they acted how or how old they were. An Agent was an Agent.

Genesis unsheathed his sword at the sight of the Agents praising a statue. It was the statue of the vessel he had defeated. He was filled with joy when he realized that he had indirectly caused harm to the Agents.

Genesis saw that there were many varieties of the Agents. Some were shorter than others and had less tentacles. Some of the creatures had longer but thinner tentacles and some had no tentacles at all.

Genesis assumed the Agents with lesser tentacles were the infants and children of the Agent population.

They were who he was to murder first then.

The king organised the cohorts behind a grand cathedral made out of flesh. The cathedral had a staircase at its side. The roof completely torn of it flesh hinges and one grand door.

As the Agents were distracted with their worship. Jae split the all the organised cohorts into mixed ones. All were mixed with the sole exception of the archers.

The king was taking a gamble. He was betting that the Agents would leave the their organised circle and file into the cathedral to continue their worship of the vessel.

For a second it looked as if the Agents were leaving into their evenly spread out meat houses. But they automatically turned into the cathedral.

Their plan was now in fruition. As the Agents went into the cathedral. The blue team hid behind the massive church until they felt the vibrations of their praise again. This time their praise was more sanctified as the vibrations were less impactful so as to not bring down the "holy" walls.

The archers went ascended the staircase and stood at the edge of the cathedral. The spearmen silently filled in and they struck killing at least 3 Agents, but they were thousands more.

The shower of arrows started immediately. Injuring some of the Agents and fatally wounding others. The spearmen kept their shields glued to their bodies and kept advancing. There were some Agents attempting to keep their children safe and they were others trying to kill Genesis.

Can you guess who died first? The former or the latter? If you guessed the former you are absolutely correct. Genesis advanced his cohort. The axemen were shielding them from the attackers. As Genesis's cohort slaughtered both mother and child.

Even the raiders were surprised with Genesis's very rational decision. The attackers of the blue team were picking off their men one by one. They were halted by the archers at the top of the cathedral.

The Agents were getting pushed back, but only slightly so. The Agents spotted the bowmen and started to scale the walls. In that moment the spearmen pushed forward, abandoning their sense of security.

The axemen and swordsmen did the same to stab the scaling Agents off the walls of the huge church. The Agents took their chance to attack the unguarded and brave offenders. Some were absorbed by them and others were saved by the remaining of the blue team who stayed behind.

The blue team was advancing forward and pushing the Agents numbers down.

The trap was so incredibly sudden Genesis could not register what had happened the floor beneath them opened up and they fell. The archers that were up on the roof were taken by festered hands that threw them down.

In the havoc of the fall, Genesis looked around for people to hold on to.

'Being separated in this hellish place would be a death sentence.'

As he saw Jae and Noel together he tried to join them to make a triangle, but the walls of flesh closed on him before his very eyes. The last thing he saw was that Noel and Jae landed safely enough in the upper layers of the White Room.

The fall reminded him very much of when the sky flipped over, long and very fast. He kept falling until he could see the bottom of where he was to land.

He stabbed his sword into the wall of flesh with all his might and the silver sword plunged into the making of the White Room. Spewing out rust colored blood it left stains on his armor, sword and hair.

When he finally managed to slow his fall. He planted his feet on the wall of flesh and jumped off landing safely in the lower layers of the White Room.

'This isn't good.'

It seemed as if the White Room had hated him so much it trapped him down in the depths even below it's belly.

He only saw a brief section of the upper layers of the White Room and could only assume that he was closer to it bladder. After all he had learned a lot about the body.

He started to trot. Wandering around with his eyes wide open looking for escape routes. When he thought he had finally found one he started to climb it. The staircase he was upon turned into tentacles.

Luckily Genesis had his sword out and slashed at some of the tentacles. But some tentacles latched unto his feet. Drawing him to a wall of flesh that revealed countless layers of bone. Genesis panicked stabbing away from the tentacles with the iron grip until he finally cut them off and ran away.

In his haste he stumbled into a sacred room. In the room were chains that led into the upper layers of the White Room. Genesis attempted to climb up the chains. The climb was grueling and unforgiving.

Since the chains were so massive it was easy to stand on them. He kept going at the climb. The flesh squelching under Genesis's feet was making him disgusted, but alas he kept going up.

It was when Genesis reached a ceiling he cut at the festering ceiling and he kept going until he was at a higher layer. Genesis climbed into the new layer and once he was upon it a monster emerged.

Genesis saw a thing new for once. It peeked his interest and it fascinated him yet he was terrified of it.

The monster that came from the depth was a sickly yellow, with a gaping mouth that could swallow Genesis whole and it was circular in shape, but massive in size. It had small, skinny, long hands and even smaller, skinnier, longer legs.

Genesis readied his sword for the battle. He had faced the vessel before he could do this, right? But poor Genesis he didn't know that this monster and the vessel are two separate entities.

Genesis readied his stance and prepared. The instant the monster put him in it's sights its charged at him, attempting to devour him entirely. Genesis dodged the insane charge by diving away.

Now flat on his stomach the monster lunged towards him again. This time it was faster. Genesis was thinking of ways to get our and then he saw it the monsters legs. When it charged it opened its mouth so wide that it legs became thin and brittle.

Genesis came up to his feet when the monster charged and dropped to his knees when it came. It saw the change but it couldn't stop it's movement he kneeled under as he slashed away at the monster's ankles, limiting its movement.

Genesis thought he was getting closer to winning that was until the flesh from the ground floated up to the monster's ankles and healed it.

This was going to be more difficult than Genesis anticipated. Genesis bared his teeth and charged at the monster. He slashed at the entrance of its mouth, leaving pale yellow acid splashing violently at his armor.

The armor surprisingly took the acid and did not melt, however Genesis could not say the same about the monster and the flesh below it's feet.

The monster was injured and the flesh was festering fast. Making it unusable for healing purposes. The monster let out a wail, before folding in it's skin, revealing a toxic green layer underneath the sick yellow.

The monster fell to its hands and knees leaving it gaping mouth open. The monster then proceeded to shoot acid out of its mouth. Genesis caught of guard, had know choice but to slash at the acid.

The acid barely made dents in his silver sword, but left boils, burns and bruises across his face. He wailed in pain as the monster prepared a second attack. It sucked in the air around it before forming an acid bubble that floated quietly towards Genesis.

Genesis, the pain now subsiding saw the slowly approaching bubble and dived away from. The acid bubble exploded in a flash of emerald. It spread across the flesh walls and splashed on the monster, making it howl, Genesis safely avoided the acid drops. He then thought of a plan.

'If the monster is weak to it's own acid then maybe this could work.'

Genesis ran towards the monster. Jumping over the fast moving tentacles coming his way. He stabbed through them flesh after flesh. He ran under the monster just as it shot an acid blast towards him. This time it was a stream of continuous acid.

It littered the floor with its acid and in its spewing rage its gushed its acid all over itself. Killing the monster. The monster turned back into its sickly yellow and collapsed to the ground.

Although the stream from the monster painted the entire section of the White Room with yellow flesh some of it even went into Genesis's direction and then it landed it his left eye. He screamed out in terror. His eye, he was losing all vision in his eye.

His eye was slowly turning the same sickly yellow as the painted walls, as if he was in art gallery. He howled for a while until he could no longer scream. He fell down, his eye festering, the yellow color was spreading he could feel it in his eye socket.

He dug into his left eye and scooped it out. It then spread to the whole of the section. He was half blind now. Genesis could hardly believe that he was half blind now. It happened so fast that Genesis could barely register it.

He fell to his knees and was about to but there was work to be done. He had to ascend the floors and defeat the White Room. As the monster disintegrated it's ashes spread making a long staircase.

'Another climb to be done.'

Genesis painfully thought. By time he had reached the 30th turn in the back and forth staircase his pain was gone and Genesis was riddled with scars. Scars that would never leave him be.
