Chapter 173 - Chapter 172: The Dragon’s Resting Temple

Just as Yang Tao was about to return to the main world, he got tagged in the group chat.

Opening the chat, he saw that Whitebeard was talking.

Whitebeard: "Boss, there's a spatial rift at Mary Geoise. On the other side, it's all ice and snow!"

Yang Tao immediately perked up. He had asked the death knights before, and they mentioned coming through a massive spatial rift.

That must mean the other side is the World of Warcraft!

Yang Tao: "Whitebeard, don't send anyone through yet. I'll check it out first!"

He teleported to the One Piece world. When he arrived, he saw only Whitebeard and Sengoku standing there.

Yang Tao thought to himself, "Looks like these two have teamed up." But he didn't dwell on it—after all, this was a fellow group member's world.

Looking around, he didn't see any spatial rift. Confused, he asked, "Whitebeard, where's the rift?"

Whitebeard pointed to the sky. "Up there, just a small crack!"

Hearing that, Yang Tao looked up.

What the—?!

No wonder Whitebeard called it a crack—it was tiny!

In the sky, there was a thin rift, less than a meter wide. The other side was pure white, covered in snow. If Whitebeard hadn't pointed it out, Yang Tao might not have noticed it.

"I'll go take a look!" With that, he flew straight up.

He carefully examined the rift—it was long and narrow. Looking through it, he saw a vast, snowy landscape. In the distance, barely visible through the heavy snow, was what seemed to be a massive building.

There were also some creatures flying around.

Since he couldn't tell what kind of place it was, he descended back down.

Sengoku asked anxiously, "Sir, what's the situation? Is it dangerous?"

The last undead invasion caused heavy losses to Marine, especially among the mid-to-high-ranking officers. Sengoku didn't want to go through something like that again.

Yang Tao explained, "I'm not sure where the other side leads, but most likely, it's the world of those enemies from before!"

Whitebeard: "Then let me see if I can shatter it with my power!"

Yang Tao quickly stopped him. "Whitebeard, don't destroy it yet. We can't keep being passive like this. I'll go check out what's on the other side!"

Hearing this, Whitebeard held back his ability. "Be careful, leader!" If the gap weren't so small, he would've gone along too.

Back at the rift, Yang Tao measured the size and nodded. "Just about right."

The one-meter gap was only big enough to squeeze through sideways. His body barely fit, so Whitebeard wouldn't even have a chance.

"I'm going in!"

At first, the passage was narrow, just enough for a person to pass through.

"Wow… what a sight!" He couldn't help but marvel at the vast, snow-covered plain before him.

Yang Tao flew toward the massive structure in the distance, completely unaffected by the snowstorm around him.

As he got closer, he realized it was even bigger than he had imagined. Countless dragons of different colors flew around the area.

He already had a good idea of where he was—this was the sacred ground of dragons, Wyrmrest Temple.

Wyrmrest Temple was a gathering place for dragons, with portals beneath it leading to different dragon sanctuaries. Dying dragons would return to their respective sanctuaries in their final moments.

Just as he was about to get closer, a massive dragon flew toward him.

It was a gigantic red dragon. A booming voice, speaking in the common tongue, came from its mouth: "Human, have you come in response to the Queen's call to fight against the Scourge?"

With just that one sentence, Yang Tao immediately understood the time period he was in.

Right now, Wyrmrest Temple was facing an invasion from the Lich King. The Lich King wanted to harvest dragon corpses to create powerful frost wyrms and strengthen his undead army.

Yang Tao didn't hesitate and answered, "That's right! I'm here to fight the Lich King's army!"

The dragon didn't doubt his intentions—after all, anyone coming here now was here to fight the Lich King.

Other than a few lunatics, no one wanted to become an undead.

"Human, follow me! I'll take you to the gathering point."

Yang Tao followed the massive red dragon into the inner part of Wyrmrest Temple.

Inside, a large number of different races had gathered—humans, orcs, elves, tuskarr, and even tauren ancestors. When Yang Tao entered, many turned to look at him, as his equipment stood out too much.

A gnome walked up, glanced at his gear, and said, "Hey, buddy, that's some cool armor you got there!"

Hearing that, Yang Tao smiled slightly, took off his helmet, and asked, "Friend, I just got here. Weren't the undead supposed to be attacking? Why don't I see them anywhere?"

The gnome paused his inspection of Yang Tao's gear and said, "A few days ago, the undead army was attacking in full force, but for some reason, their war fortress, Naxxramas, suddenly disappeared, and all the enemies retreated!"

Naxxramas is still stuck in my world. No wonder there's no sign of an undead attack—their commander is gone.
