My thoughts kept drifting back to Auron.

I didn't know where he was or if he was even safe anymore.

Had he figured things out? Had he made preparations too?

A gnawing worry chewed at my chest.

Please, please be safe, I mumbled under my breath, the words a desperate prayer whispered into the dark, empty night.

Because even now, with everything happening so fast, part of me still hoped — prayed — that we would meet again.

Our flight was scheduled for three in the morning, but when we reached the airport, it was just half past twelve.

That meant we had to wait for almost two and a half hours before we could board the plane.

The airport was busy, but there was a strange, almost uneasy tension in the air, as if everyone could sense something was wrong even if they didn't have all the details.

Meanwhile, I took out my phone and tried to search through all the major news outlets for any updates on the situation.
