Ok guys here are the intricate Power Systems( 4) that governs the abilities and strengths of my characters in my verse.
First of all my verse comprises of four realms ( godly, mortal, spiritual and demon).
The other two important places are the loom of fate and the Nexus Abyss:
1. The Loom of Fate( I got this from norns mythology)is a world that exists between the demon realm and godly realm, this is where fate of all living beings is weaved by the three norns.
2. The Nexus Abyss is a convergence point where all the realms overlap.
The Supernatural System: Devine essence, Sin Affinity, Pacts, and the Abyss
FirstSystem ( spiritpact)
In this verse, humans are born powerless, unable to wield supernatural abilities on their own. To gain power, they must forge contracts with spirits through a sacred—and often perilous—ceremony. These contracts come at a cost, with spirits demanding a price, most commonly a portion of the human's lifespan, in exchange for abilities such as enhanced strength, elemental control, or heightened perception.
There are two types of spirits( high ranking: never bound and Ethereal spirits) and lower ranking spirits( elemental, animal, and ancestral spirits)- these are easy to summon and form pacts with.
Different levels of of pact bearers( humans who have formed pacts)
1. Initiate- this is the stage everyone is at once they form pacts.
2. Adept- this is the stage were one is able to use the abilities( partially) granted by the spirit
3. Manifestor- this is a stage where one has mastered all the abilities granted by the spirits.
4. Spirit lord. Can be able to call the spirit in the physical world to help them in battle.
5. Luminara regent- this is a stage where one has merged with his or her spirit becoming a being that possess the ability to travel from realm to realm, he/she is outside fate and Cannot die naturally.
The Spirit Wielder's path to power involves eight trials, each with its unique challenges and rewards.
1. Awakening: Summon a spirit and form a pact (initiate level).
2. Resonance: Sync emotions with your spirit through meditation and conversation (forming a bond).
3. Synergy: Relive a painful memory to test resolve and sense of self (becoming an Adept).
4. Reflection: Face a twisted version of your spirit, representing your fears and flaws.
5. Echo: Enter the Spirit Realm and return with your soul intact (becoming a Manifestor).
6. Rebirth: Enter a death-like state, and your spirit decides if you're worth reviving (becoming a Spirit Lord).
7. Transcendence: See your future and choose to accept or fight it.
8. Unity (Eternal Labyrinth): Face your inner demons, accept and understand all versions of yourself, and merge with your spirit (or risk being trapped).
Note: I'll not touch on what determines a spirit one Summons cause that has been revealed in the chapters have released.
Thesecond power system( Demons)
Unlike humans, demons are born with inherent supernatural abilities.
The Sin Affinity System
demons are born with a Sin Affinity, a fundamental aspect of their being tied to one of the Seven Cardinal Sins. Each affinity grants unique abilities( hybrids)
1. Wrath: raw strength, speed,mastery of any of the four elements( wind , earth, fire and water.)
2. Pride: Commanding presence( his / her presence alone breaks the will of opponents).
- domination(his/ her voice compels obedience on weaker opponents)
-Reality manipulation( temporarily alters the battlefield to reflect his ideal environment)
3. Greed: Spatial manipulation and matter absorption.
4. Lust:Illusions and mind control.
5. Envy: Mimicry of abilities and shape-shifting.
6. Sloth: Time manipulation and control over dream realm
7. Gluttony: Consuming skills and void sustenance.
High-ranking demons can either wield multiple sin affinities or master all the hybrids of one sin affinity- a fit not achievable by lower ranking demons. A demon can climb up the ranks by consuming humans or feeding on fear.
The thirdpowersystem ( abyssal energy)
Abyssal Energy: The most potent and dangerous power source.
Abyssal Energy grants immense, unpredictable power, surpassing anything offered by a standard spirit contract. Warriors who seek an edge in battle often turn to this force, Abyssal Energy can also be infused into weapons, enhancing their destructive potential. But for now I'll forcus on Ryojin's abilities.
Descent 1: Abyss-Touched( exposure to abyssal energy or in Ryojin's case granted power by the very source)
• Physical Boost: Superhuman strength and speed.
• Eye of the Abyss (Lv. 1): Detects illusions and auras.
• Abyssal Tendrils: Black, instinctive tendrils for offense/defense.
• Voice of Annihilation (Lv. 1): Erases weak attacks via command.
• Regeneration- Slow
• Can be able to teleport from one place to another as long as the place is in sight.( this ability remains the same till Descent 4).
• Can open up portals( this ability is available at all descents).
Descent 2: Abyssal Rebirth
• Boosts: Enhanced speed, power, and reflexes.
• Eye (Lv. 2): Slows time perception briefly.
• Tendrils: Faster
• Voice (Lv. 2): Erases medium-scale attacks (requires precision).
• Abyssal Regeneration: fast healing.
• Trigger: killing a demon.
Descent 3: Abyssal Tyrant
• Boosts: Steel-ripping strength, vehicle-level speed.
• Eye (Lv. 3): Sees a few seconds into the future.
• Tendrils: Form weapons, armor, react instinctively.
• Voice (Lv. 3): Erases powerful magical defenses/barriers.
• Abyssal Fear: Aura induces fear in weaker beings.
• Trigger: killing a version of oneself- same abilities. This fight takes place in the Nexus Abyss.
Descent 4: Abyssal Overlord
• Boosts: Can destroy buildings effortlessly.
• Eye (Lv. 4): Makes things invisible to others.
• Tendrils: Can suck the life out an opponent
• Voice (Lv. 4): Erases concepts (e.g., pain).
• Abyssal Domain: Temporarily distorts local reality.
• Trigger: killing a person you once cared about.
Descent 5: Abyssal Monarch
• Boosts: Reality-breaking power, logic-defying feats.
• Eye (Lv. 5): Sees all battle outcomes, chooses best.
• Tendrils: Summon Abyssal Warriors (past consumed souls).
• Voice (Absolute Command): Erases anything—memories, emotions, even existence.
• Eternal Abyss: Creates a personal realm of darkness and abyssal warriors
• Can teleport from realm to realm.
Trigger . Killing a top tire god, demon or spirit lord.
Note:His katana is wreathed in Abyssal fire- a cut causes Abyssal corruption which slowly eats away an opponent's body from the inside.
Note: Ryojin's current level is descent 1. I'll not talk about the abilities of the Elite five as you will find out on your own as you continue reading.
Divine Essence Power System (Fourth Power System)
Gods are ranked from Rank I to Rank VI, based on the scope and abstraction of their Divine Essence—the core source of their power.
Rank I – Elemental Essence
Most common among lower gods and Sentinels. Tied to raw, primordial forces. Examples: Fire, Water, Earth, Light, Wind, Lightning.
Rank II–III – Abstract Essence
Found in intermediate gods. Embodies non-physical ideas or concepts. Examples: Emotion, Memory, War, Silence, Peace.
Rank IV–V – Cosmic Essence
Wielded by higher gods. Grants control over universal laws and phenomena. Examples: Time, Space, Gravity, Fate.
Rank VI – Transcendent Essence
Reserved for Primordial Gods. Combines two or more Cosmic Essences. Only the Celestial Supreme and his youngest son are at this level.
