Flashbacks. Some Centuries Ago
It was late in the evening, and I knew I shouldn't be out this late. I had been warned countless times by my father and mother, and not only that, but my older sister, Anna, would also be punished as a result of my actions. The mere thought of this filled me with dread—my sister getting beaten because of something I did.
Yes, you could call me a rebellious little eleven-year-old, but this was all I had ever wanted. I longed to explore the cities of the realm: the Crescent Moon Pack, the vampire realm, the Bloodcricle realm, and every other realm in the supernatural world. It was the very definition of freedom to me—something I had tried to explain to my parents, but they wouldn't listen. They never listened. They just wanted to keep me caged up inside this old, creaky house, away from the rest of the world.
