The days after the cave passed in a strange blur.

I should have felt restless, anxious after everything Marcus had revealed to me.

Instead... there was peace.

Strange, hollow peace.

I slept soundly, tucked away inside the thick stone walls of the King's castle, wrapped in warmth and the lingering, steady scent of the man who had promised to fight for me, even if the whole world turned to ash.

Since the day I found the cave,and my first vision.

The woman in white didn't come again.

The aching pull toward the cave dulled, but it still lingered.

Maybe it's over...

I told myself.

Maybe whatever was waking inside me... went back to sleep.

But deep down, some instinct , ancient and restless, whispered.

This was just the calm before the storm.

I know something isncoming, sometbung I cannot name.

And it hit me in the dead of night.

One moment, I was tangled in soft sheets, breathing in Marcus's lingering scent...

The next thing I know, the world again seemed to rip away.
