Chapter 51 - Chapter 51: 3.13 – Lonely Koshichei – Ambushed

FSB Director Oleg Khizinsky left his office and headed to the headquarters of the Alpha 3 unit. He was on his way there straight away after receiving news that Zhenya had gone to work. He was always absent and only answered calls when he felt like it, so he had to go find him himself.

Two elite agents armed with weapons followed the director. This was to prepare for any possible armed conflict. Like a reptile whose body temperature changes every hour, even Zhenya's temperament was so sensitive that it was difficult to please him.

Just as the director's group had just reached the second floor, a person was suddenly thrown out of the door. The man hit the opposite wall and collapsed. The room he had just rushed out of was the group's destination, 'Alpha 3 Unit Headquarters'. The two agents silently drew their guns.

The inside of the room was more of a mess than expected. The so-called window had been smashed and the metal desk had been overturned. Office supplies such as papers and telephones were scattered across the floor.

Zhenya turned his head at the presence at the door, the director's gaze observing the group of people looked very unusual. What was wrong with him today?

The director signaled to the agents to put their guns away. Then he sent the two men out on high alert. He closed the door himself and sat on the sofa that had long since been pushed out of place. Zhenya stood there, watching his every move. His stinging glare made him uncomfortable.

"I heard you were holding that Korean spy? Is he dead?"

"If not, then hand him over now, what do you think? We should also think about the image of the FSB."

The answer was silence. Zhenya didn't even seem to think for a second. If he had intended to do so in the first place, he wouldn't have gone so far with the spy. A heavy silence followed.

Finally, the director shook his head and sighed. As if giving up, he threw down the pile of papers he was carrying.

"If you don't like it, then take this job and deal with it. Something has to be achieved to restore the lost image, right?"

No matter how you look at it, it doesn't look like a superior giving instructions to a subordinate. It's more like a conditional agreement.

Zhenya glanced at the pile of papers at his feet, then back at the director. The director briefly explained what he would have to do.

"A military intelligence officer was murdered not long ago. It was shortly after he was seen entering a hotel with a woman. According to the crime scene investigation team, it appears that he was killed by a suicide bomber during sex. The rebels now seem to be ready to resort to the beauty trap. A group of about 20 disguised rebels, including the dead woman, entered Moscow. So this may be the beginning."

The director paused for a moment and then gave an order.

"Find and deal with them all."

Late at night. A man and a woman entwined and left a high-class bar in downtown Moscow. The man was a high-ranking government official from the Ministry of Defense. He got into a sedan provided by the bar, not an official car. The man's partner was a woman with an undisguised sex appeal.

As soon as they arrived at the hotel, the man nervously pulled her wrist. After entering the elevator, the two of them were extremely entangled. The man excitedly hugged the woman and placed her on the handrail inside the elevator, then rolled her skirt up to her waist. The woman also spread her legs and hugged the man tightly.

He bit into the garter belt that wrapped around the woman's smooth thighs. As the belt was torn off, the woman shivered slightly at the waist and moaned softly. The man touched his lips and greedily sucked her tongue as if ready to swallow her excited breath.

The elevator went up quickly. They were both half naked when they got out. He threw the woman on the bed. The girl smiled and rubbed her round breasts. It was a provocative gesture. The naked man immediately jumped on the woman.

He touched her lips once more and pulled off the rest of her clothes. As her bra was pulled up, her full breasts bounced back and forth. He buried his face in it and spread the woman's legs wide, wrapping them around his waist as he rubbed her vigorously. The neatly ironed shirt his wife wore was crumpled in the hands of an unknown woman.

He removed her panties while frantically kissing the woman's neck. The girl was very eager but insisted on keeping her knees together. The passionate man with his body fidgeted, moved around and tickled her butt.

"Ha, ha… Gotta get your ass up, huh?"

"Ah…"

He pulled out his exploding cock. The hard mass snorted, searching for a hole to enter. He sucked on her nipples while brushing his hot glans against her core. She tilted her head and arched. In an instant, her body opened wide and he pushed his shaft in.

"Ahhh…"

"Ahhh… huh?"

After enjoying the tight squeezing sensation for a while, the man let out a questioning sound. His head, which was buried in the girl's chest, lifted up. A hard object touched the glans that was inside the hole. It seemed like there was something inside the woman's vagina.

He looked at the girl who was still smiling and hugging his neck, a somewhat forced smile. The man belatedly tried to run away, but the woman hugged him tightly and refused to let go. To prevent the man from escaping easily, her legs also wrapped tightly around his waist.

"I said I would kill you."

The girl whispered sweetly into the bewildered man's ear. The man was startled by the sense of danger, but for some reason he could not escape from the woman's embrace.

Suddenly, a loud noise rang out. At the same time, the tightly closed door was almost torn open. The man and the woman looked back at the door in surprise at the same time. An uninvited guest walked in front of the two. The one who didn't show a trace of shame when seeing the two of them entangled with each other was none other than Zhenya. He rushed in with a rifle.

Zhenya suddenly grabbed the man who was unable to move because of the woman's grip and threw him to the floor without hesitation. In an unexpected situation, the woman quickly pulled out the detonator. However, before she could press the detonator button, her arm was grabbed. In an instant, the detonator fell from the woman's twisted arm.

"Ah!"

The woman screamed in pain. Zhenya did not hesitate to point the gun at her head. He did not hesitate for a second before pulling the trigger.

The woman's body shook as blood splattered all over Zhenya's face and body. The man who had witnessed the whole scene ran away.

But at that moment, it seemed like the particles in the air suddenly swelled. Part of the wall was blown away with consecutive loud bangs, and the ceiling also fell helplessly. The impact of the explosion shattered all the windows in the front and all the lights in the building went out. Vision was suddenly blocked.

Zhenya blocked the debris and dust with the flap of his coat. Even he didn't understand what was happening, his ears were ringing as if something was wrong with his eardrums.

Not long after, a laser beam shot through the broken windows. The light in the hotel room, which was littered with broken glass and stone dust, quickly reached Zhenya's mouth. Immediately, the laser light moved down around his left chest. Without saying a word, Zhenya looked down at the red dot on his chest.

In the next moment, dozens of laser beams flew from multiple directions and landed on one spot. Instantly, Zhenya's chest and head were dyed red. Now, if he took just one step, his entire body would turn into a beehive.

A moment later, the familiar sound of blades approached. The helicopter hovered in the dark sky, aiming its light at Zhenya. For some reason, its appearance looked familiar. And of course, the FSB symbol emblazoned on the bottom of the helicopter appeared. He hadn't asked for help, so of course it wasn't coming to help voluntarily.

Zhenya can tell intuitively. This is a double trap.

It was late, but the president was still in the Oval Office. Bazim sat in his chair, looking nervous. The two of them waited in silence for some news. Occasionally he would pull up his sleeve to check the time.

Soon after, he felt a presence outside the door, and there was a knock. The person who appeared when invited in was the director of the FSB, Oleg Khizinsky.

The President and Bazim's eyes turned to him at the same time. The director bowed politely and reported the progress.

"A task force has been sent to the scene. We have blocked all escape routes of the target and have completely surrounded them."

It was an ambiguous expression, but it was not difficult to understand its meaning. The President nodded silently. Bazim's expression was no different, there was not the slightest concern or sympathy for his own kin on his face.

The president looked at the FSB director again. There was another piece of news he had been waiting for more than the previous report. Oleg Khizinsky did not keep him waiting long.

"Half an hour ago, nine members of the Vimpel special forces were also dispatched to the location. They are elite agents that you can trust, so please don't worry."

The president finally smiled with satisfaction at the director's boasting. He nodded and praised, "Good job." Important instructions were issued one after another.

"If the 'watchman' resists to the end, then just eliminate him."

All he could see was thick darkness. No, maybe it was snow. Even though he couldn't see anything, Kwon Taek Joo could feel the distinct coldness. Not a single breath of wind blew through the place. There was no escape, and he felt trapped in a space that nothing could pass through. A suffocating, oppressive feeling.

A child suddenly appeared as he looked around the dark surroundings. A boy who looked to be around 6 or 7 years old. The child stood alone in the distance so he couldn't see his face. Kwon Taek Joo tried to speak but for some reason he couldn't raise his voice.

After a while, someone approached the child. He could not tell whether it was a man or a woman. The figure hovered around the child for a while and then suddenly disappeared somewhere. Another person approached the bewildered child. But then that person also disappeared quickly. The boy was once again left behind.

Countless figures passed by the child. Sometimes one or two, sometimes a whole group. But in the end, no one remained. The boy had attracted a lot of passersby but quickly became a loner.

After a while, the child turned around. The pale face approached Kwon Taek Joo for the first time. He walked over without hesitation and quickly approached the child. Even at this close range, he could not see the child's face. A pale hand slowly reached out. Kwon Taek Joo was absentmindedly looking away when the hand suddenly grabbed his finger. The child's icy body temperature sent a chill down his spine.

The child suddenly clenched his hand, so tightly that his fingers throbbed in pain. It was an unparalleled strength for such a small body. Kwon Taek Joo wondered if the boy was afraid of losing the hand he had just held?

The child dragged Kwon Taek Joo somewhere. He had a feeling that if he was dragged along, he would never be able to escape. He was not confident in raising children. At the thought of being responsible for a child that he did not even know, Kwon Taek Joo quickly twisted his hand away from the little hand. With empty hands, the child looked at Kwon Taek Joo blankly.

The child reached out again. Kwon Taek Joo instinctively stepped back. His pale face was confused with shock. A bad premonition. The child immediately burst into tears. The fresh air in the space quickly froze. With every breath he took, sharp ice crystals filled his lungs.

Ignoring the tears that kept flowing, the child cried loudly until his voice was hoarse. With that reverberating sound, the vast space around him began to collapse helplessly. The floor shook as if an earthquake had just occurred, the ceiling and walls also crumbled.

Too dangerous. Kwon Taek Joo tried to hold on to the child and protect him, but it was not easy to catch him. The more he reached out, the more the child wiped away his tears and moved away.

A completely collapsed world suddenly swallowed Kwon Taek Joo.

He took a deep breath and opened his eyes. His vision widened so quickly that he felt dizzy. The rotating ceiling looked familiar. Kwon Taek Joo moved his hand and felt the floor. It was hard. Kwon Taek Joo was left on the floor, not on the bed or in front of the fireplace. He closed his eyes and recalled the last memories before he lost consciousness. A sigh escaped him, not out of relief or helplessness. This time he thought he was going to die.

"Are you awake?"

Kwon Taek Joo realized Olga's presence when he heard the question. He raised his body and as if waiting, a sharp pain ran through his body. Kwon Taek Joo swallowed the groan that was about to come out and looked around again. The appearance of the room was unbelievable, even the ruins after the war didn't seem so bad.

Meanwhile, only the area around Kwon Taek Joo was clean. His body was covered with a blanket and had a pillow. Not only that, there were bandages wrapped around his neck and arms. Olga couldn't move Kwon Taek Joo so it seemed like she had taken care of him that way.

"What happened yesterday? Why did that he go crazy like that?"

Olga was curious. She shook her head. Even Kwon Taek Joo couldn't understand why Zhenya was so angry. Although his face usually changed when he caused trouble, he wondered if using a private room was something worth getting angry about. Of course, his futile attacks in anger might have made him even angrier. For someone who liked to 'defend himself', was that an act worth killing him for?

"That man went out yesterday."

Olga informed about Zhenya's whereabouts before Kwon Taek Joo could ask, and also listed the medicines she had taken. She then said, "Let's eat" and left the room first.

Kwon Taek Joo awkwardly touched the bandage. He doesn't want to remember it, but Zhenya's cold expression was clearly visible. He had never been a rational person, but at that moment, it seemed like a fuse had blown in his head. Even when attacking others, he was filled with leisure. Even when he revealed that he wasn't Kwon Taek Joo's colleague and when he went to the embassy to arrest him, Zhenya didn't make that face. It was probably a miracle that Kwon Taek Joo was still breathing. After realizing it again, belatedly, his fingertips trembled again.

Then he suddenly remembered the strange dream he had just had. The person he saw in the dream was a child, but why did he suddenly think of him? The only similarities were the transparent white skin and unusual ivory hair. Kwon Taek Joo shook his head again to clear his thoughts. He hurriedly left the room before any more strange thoughts could come to his mind.

Kwon Taek Joo went down the stairs and into the kitchen. For some reason, Olga wasn't there. No, that's what he thought. It was because she was huddled on the opposite side of the dining table, out of sight. What the hell was she doing there, but the sight of her unnaturally clutching her chest caught Kwon Taek Joo's eye. Cold sweat broke out on his bloodless face.

"Hey! What's wrong?"

"…medicine, get my medicine."

Kwon Taek Joo licked his dry lips. His whole body trembled. He looked around in a daze. He soon found a bottle of medicine under the table. Kwon Taek Joo didn't even have time to check what kind of medicine it was, he opened the cap and handed it to Olga.

Olga swallowed the pill in her hand without water. Then she took a deep breath. Kwon Taek Joo carefully lifted her body up and brought her water for her to slowly drink. Her cold hands were also massaged to help blood circulation. After a while, Olga's breathing gradually returned to normal. Her skin also improved significantly.

"I was born with angina."

Olga confessed while rubbing her aching heart. It seemed like her coming here to recuperate wasn't just talk. Kwon Taek Joo helped Olga stagger to sit down on the chair. He boiled water and brought her another cup of warm water. Olga smiled lightly and said thank you.

It was just as Olga received the glass of water. A slight ripple appeared on the surface of the water in the glass. Was it an illusion? The sound of a helicopter kept ringing. Was Zhenya back? No, this sound was different from his. At this level, it was possible that this was a military helicopter with auxiliary rotors.

Kwon Taek Joo raised his index finger and placed it between his lips. Olga, who didn't understand what was happening, nodded silently. He left her in the kitchen and moved to the front window. Kwon Taek Joo pressed his back against the wall and watched the movements outside the window. Not long after, military helicopters crossing the sea appeared in his sight.

As if they were about to land on the island, they gradually lowered their altitude. It didn't feel good. At least they weren't here to patrol an uninhabited island owned by Zhenya. Kwon Taek Joo hurried back to the kitchen.

"What's up?"

"Military helicopters are approaching."

"Military helicopters?"

Olga put her hand over her mouth. It seemed like something was stuck in her throat. Before coming here, she had overheard her father Vissarion and Bazim talking. They said that if Zhenya did not hand over 'Anastasia' in the end, they would take it by force. He said that was the Kremlin's will.

She couldn't tell if those uninvited guests were simply looking for Anastasia or if they were trying to harm Zhenya. Now that he wasn't here, what would happen? Above all, she was worried about Kwon Taek Joo's safety.

"I don't know why they're here, but we should get away from them first. For now, just do as I say."

Olga nodded silently. No one in her family knew she was here. There was no way Vissarion or Bazim would allow her to meet with Zhenya before a major event that needed to be kept secret. So it wouldn't be good if she ran into government troops.

Kwon Taek Joo went down to the basement and took out the gun he and Zhenya used to hunt with. He also put the bullets in his pocket. Even if the accuracy of the shot was a little lower, it was still better than hitting it with his bare hands. When he returned to the kitchen, Olga immediately lifted the hem of her skirt and took the Colt out of the gun rack on her lap and handed it to him.

"I will give you this."

She is a blood relative of the Bogdanov family after all. Kwon Taek Joo smiled and returned the Colt to her.

"If you don't wear it as jewelry, you know how to shoot, right? Keep it and shoot it if you have to."

"But you are more dangerous than me."

"Who are you worried about?"

At that moment, the noise of the propellers died down. Kwon Taek Joo hurriedly led Olga through the back door. As expected, a military helicopter landed on the snowy field. As soon as the engine stopped, the door opened and armed agents poured out. There were nine people in total, including the pilot. The difference in numbers and the inferiority in weapons were too great, Kwon Taek Joo had better avoid head-on collision and hide somewhere.

"Do you know how to ski?"

He asked while holding the umbrella for Olga. Olga said "Is that a question?" as if it was absurd. What a blessing in disguise. Kwon Taek Joo showed her a place far away on the horizon.

"See that birch grove over there? When I give you the signal, run in that direction. Even if you hear gunshots or any noise behind you, don't look back and keep running. Got it?"

Olga nodded eagerly. There was no sign of fear. That was thanks to the courage honed over decades in the Bogdanov family.

After quickly checking Olga's ski equipment, Kwon Taek Joo signaled her by patting her back. Olga slammed her pole on the floor and slid across the snow. He had to attract her attention until she reached the safety of the forest. Kwon Taek Joo watched the girl skidding skillfully before returning to the villa.

Immediately afterwards, the agents were divided into two special forces teams and rushed in. At the commander's command, one team went upstairs, the other stayed on the first floor and began searching. As if looking for something, they kept knocking on the walls and floors, and they even brought metal detectors with them.

Soon, one of the group members found the stairs leading down to the basement. They turned on their helmet lights and carefully walked down.

The moment they confirmed that there was no presence and took another step, a hand reached out from between the steps and grabbed their ankles. The attack was so sudden that they fell forward without a chance to react.

"Ugh!"

A painful groan came from the fallen man. Meanwhile, he was busy searching for the rifle he had lost in his hand. But nothing was within reach. He raised his head curiously. Soon, someone's long legs filled his vision. It was Kwon Taek Joo. The rifle the man was looking for had been passed to him.

He hit the man on the head with the butt of the gun in his hand. The man was unable to fight back and fell limply. Kwon Taek Joo dragged him down the stairs and searched his clothes. On the back of the bulletproof vest was embroidered the emblem of 'Vimpel', a special unit under the FSB.

Did the FSB send them to arrest Kwon Taek Joo? There are a lot of unclear angles. The use of metal detectors to search inside the villa and the lack of vigilance to find someone hiding. It's as if they knew the owner wasn't there.

While Kwon Taek Joo was developing his thoughts, a bullet flew out of nowhere. Another member of the team seemed to be aware of the chaos in the basement and ran over. He quickly dodged it. The other agents heard the gunshots and ran to the front of the basement one after another.

Kwon Taek Joo walked to the door leading outside and put on his skateboard. It would be difficult to avoid being chased as long as his presence was still detected. The forest was the safest place to hide but he couldn't drag them there with Olga. Kwon Taek Joo walked in the opposite direction from where she had fled.

It was still daytime and the surface of the snowfield was just melting, Kwon Taek Joo slid quickly on it. The wind was as fierce as the speed of running, making his eyes sting. He grimaced as he glided because he didn't have his goggles on. Not long after, the agents found Kwon Taek Joo and called each other.

Gunshots rang out one after another. Bullets flew from behind, cutting through the snow, just one step ahead or behind Kwon Taek Joo. He gritted his teeth and rubbed his eyes harder. When he suddenly ran out of range, agents wearing special skis gave chase. Helicopters followed him overhead.

It was difficult to aim at the S shaped target, but even if he ran until his limbs were weak, the distance between them was gradually closing. With the numerical disadvantage, Kwon Taek Joo could not stop or confront them. It seemed that he would have to use the geographical features he had learned so far to lose them.

Immediately after, several shots were fired from the helicopter. Kwon Taek Joo turned around and hid under a snow-covered cliff. Three or four agents followed. Then the helicopter began to provide cover fire. As if waiting, Kwon Taek Joo rushed out. Bullets rained down continuously and stuck on the steep cliff. Not long after, a loud roar was heard.

Kwon Taek Joo pushed the pole as hard as he could and increased his speed. The moment he left the cliff, the separated sediment collapsed. The agents chasing him were startled and changed direction but could not avoid the avalanche that immediately occurred.

Kwon Taek Joo did not look back and sped across the snowy field. The helicopter followed and fired continuously. Bullets rained down, tearing apart the normally quiet snowy field. Kwon Taek Joo narrowly passed through the bullets on the snow-covered field.

A steep cliff would appear in a moment. That was where he had his eyes set on trying paragliding. It was perfect for sliding down but he didn't know if it was suitable for jumping. Kwon Taek Joo could only try though.

He made up his mind and took off without hesitation. The wind blowing from all directions supported his body. Kwon Taek Joo reduced the drag by tilting his upper body at an angle. The agents were caught off guard and could only watch Kwon Taek Joo's daring and reckless jump. The bottom of the cliff was quickly approaching. That was the drop point. Kwon Taek Joo grabbed the rope so that he could open his parachute at any time.

Immediately after, a gunshot rang out beside his ears. The body that was falling straight down suddenly lost strength.
