Still grinning, he answered, " I do know that but just imagine...what if the earthquake had been a little early? I mean... we could have been buried while in the act... that is one way to remain immortal forever...Really—how can you not find that funny? It's like I challenged mother nature herself... and goaded the fates into disturbing us."
Melanie laughed at that, and okay, fine—it was kind of hilarious when you put it that way. However, the laughter quickly died when she was yanked into his lap like she weighed nothing.
