Sumaya swallowed thickly. Her heart beat unevenly, stirring with both anticipation and unease. She felt as if she were standing on the edge of something vast, something that would alter everything she believed.
Selene chuckled lightly, the sound carrying with an ease that should have soothed Sumaya — but it didn't. Not entirely. It only deepened her curiosity, her hunger for answers. She moved to sit in one of the flowered chairs, her movements fluid as Orion followed close behind, never straying far.
Sumaya barely noticed that Rieka had shifted closer to her. The wolf pressed against her side, her warmth seeping into Sumaya's own body like an unspoken assurance. Without realizing it, Sumaya's fingers moved, threading gently through Rieka's fur. A subconscious motion.
Selene's lips curved into a soft smile at the sight. "You already have a strong bond with her," she observed, exhaling quietly. "Without even knowing who she truly is."
