Chapter 97 - New Pokemon

A wave of massive vines and towering trees exploded from the ground. They devoured everything in their path, leaving nothing but destruction in their wake. The Giant Piranha Plants were completely engulfed, their monstrous forms ripped apart as they dissolved into aura. The Hypnotic Mushrooms, with no chance to release another spore, were shredded into nothingness.

The vine whips meant to entangle Larry never reached their target, obliterated before they could even tighten around him.Even Lina's Triple Nut Shield—the defense she had poured all her strength into— It shattered instantly.

The shields crumbled like brittle paper, leaving her completely exposed. She barely had time to react before— "BOOM!" Lina was sent flying through the air, like a ragdoll caught in a hurricane. Her body crashed outside the arena, landing in an unconscious heap.

As the dust settled, the audience slowly took in the scene before them. The once pristine ring was now unrecognizable. dense forest of enormous vines and trees had completely overtaken the battlefield. Even parts of the arena itself had collapsed under the overwhelming growth. And standing in the middle of this newly-formed jungle— Was Larry.

Completely unscathed. Lina, on the other hand, lay unconscious beneath the rubble, her lips parting slightly as she let out a faint, mosquito-like groan. The entire stadium fell into stunned silence. The crowd didn't even dare to breathe.

Larry, meanwhile, tilted his head slightly, examining the scene. Then, his lips curled into a smirk. "Wow… That was a big one." He knew exactly what Gengar had just done. It had randomly triggered—"Frenzy Plant." A grass-type ultimate move, one of the strongest in existence.

Larry glanced at the ruined stage, then down at Lina's unconscious form. "Well… I guess 'Plant Queen' doesn't quite suit her anymore, huh?" His smirk deepened. "Maybe I should take the title instead?" Then he shook his head. 'No. "Plant Queen" didn't sound right. "Plant Monarch" had a better ring to it.'

The crowd was still in complete disbelief. For a brief moment, some had assumed this was part of Lina's ability. After all, she was the Plant Queen—summoning an entire forest mid-fight seemed like something she could do. But then— They looked at her motionless body lying outside the ring. And at Larry, who stood in the center of it all, completely unbothered.

The realization hit them like a truck. "Wait… that wasn't Lina?! THAT WAS LARRY?!" Silence hung in the air for another few moments— Then, the stadium erupted.

From the stands, Biscuit was losing her mind. Her face was a mix of shock and frustration, as she tried to comprehend what she had just witnessed. "HOW?! HOW DOES HE KEEP DOING THIS?!" It didn't make sense.

Larry had already demonstrated an insane variety of Nen abilities— And now he was summoning forests?!

HOW?!

Even Wing and Zushi, who were seeing Larry fight for the first time, looked like their souls had been knocked out of their bodies. This "Invincible Larry" just casually dropped a massive ultimate attack without any warning.

Strangely enough, Gon and Killua barely reacted. They just sat there, watching everything unfold like it was completely normal. Compared to the "Tower of trial" incident, Larry's rampage through the Zoldyck estate, and that time he nearly left holes inside and outside Killua's home, this devastation felt almost routine.

"Oh, it's just a giant jungle and a destroyed arena?"

"Yeah, small-scale destruction today."

At this point, as long as Larry didn't accidentally collapse the entire Sky Arena, they figured everything was within normal expectations.

As Larry waited for the official verdict, he glanced toward the referee's podium. And realized— The referee was missing. A quick scan revealed him unconscious beneath the ring, having fainted the moment Frenzy Plant erupted. Larry sighed. "No wonder no one's announcing the results."

The Sky Arena had always been dangerous, but refereeing above the 200th floor was practically a death wish. Many fights involved Nen users with unpredictable abilities, making it nearly impossible for an ordinary person to stay safe in the ring.

Larry recalled how, in the original timeline, when Hisoka fought Chrollo, the referee barely had time to speak before Chrollo manipulated him using borrowed Nen abilities.

And later?

Chrollo literally turned spectators into living bombs. Compared to that Collapsing the arena with an overgrown jungle didn't seem too bad. Still Someone probably needed to wake up the referee so the match could be officially called.

Larry turned to Gengar. "Poke him a little, will you?"

Gengar grinned. With a flicker of movement, he drifted over to the unconscious referee, raised a single ghostly finger, and gave him a firm poke.

The man jolted awake with a violent shudder, eyes wide with panic before rolling back as he slumped into unconsciousness again. It was the commentator who recovered first, swiftly stepping in to take over the referee's job. With excitement still in her voice, she declared: "The winner of this match is—Invincible LARRY!"

A loud cheer erupted from the crowd, but many were still in shock. It was only after the staff rushed in to carry away both Lina and the referee that reality truly sank in. Previously, it was just Sally alone who had to be taken away.

This time?

Lina and the referee. One by one, Larry was leaving a trail of unconscious opponents in his wake. But he didn't care about that. His mind was already somewhere else.

With a subtle excitement in his gaze, he calmly left the arena, looking almost eager for something. Because today His Pokémon incubation was finally complete.

The moment Larry returned to his room, his mind was immediately alerted to the notification

[Ding! A Pokémon has hatched!]

Larry's heart raced. He had been waiting for this moment. Which Pokémon would it be? A powerful, bladed warrior like Scizor? A master of martial arts like Pangoro? Or maybe… something even better?

As he focused on his Nen ability, an elegant, humanoid figure took shape in his vision. Larry's eyes widened. Then, a huge grin spread across his face. "It's Lucario!"

A Pokémon with a black, yellow, and blue color scheme. A pair of sharp, pointed ears, and four appendages on its head that lifted whenever it sensed or manipulated Aura. A sleek, well-defined frame with steel-hard spikes protruding from the backs of its hands and chest. Its face was marked with distinct lines, resembling battle paint. And beneath it all— The unmistakable presence of a warrior.

Larry's heart swelled with pure joy. He had always wanted a Lucario. Ever since watching "Pokémon: Lucario and the Mystery of Mew" as a kid, he had imagined having one by his side. A partner to fight alongside him. A warrior of unbreakable spirit. And today— That dream had finally come true.
