The Angel of Amegakure, the People's Representative, and a Cry for Justice!
"Angel-sama! Please, hear the voices of the common people!"
"Angel-sama! Let Pain-sama show himself and dispel those rumors! Without his presence, we cannot live in peace!"
Outside the southern gates of Amegakure, hundreds of strong, young villagers gathered, shouting their pleas. To demonstrate their determination, they had gone days without food or water, standing unprotected under the relentless rain.
Ninth Floor of the Tower.
Konan stood by the window, her gaze fixed on the scene below, her brows furrowed in concern. The situation had been deteriorating rapidly. Merchants had begun striking, and now, the villagers had chosen representatives to pressure the leadership. If they continued to ignore the people's demands, things would spiral out of control.
For those pampered daimyō in their gilded halls, the response might have been dismissive:
"Strikes? Excellent! Let these insolent peasants starve a bit, and they'll soon learn their place."
But Naruto Uzumaki, a former Hokage and a leader with insight and empathy, was different.
Sitting calmly, he chewed on buttered bread while flipping through a scroll of forbidden techniques. His tone was composed as he remarked,
"I think the people's reactions stem from years of living under the shadow of war. Deep down, they lack a sense of security. Even Hanzō the Salamander, despite his reputation, failed to address this issue."
He continued, "When Pain descended upon Amegakure and uprooted Hanzō's regime with overwhelming force, the villagers saw a beacon of strength and hope. The mystery surrounding Pain only deepened their reverence, elevating him to the status of a god."
Naruto spoke with clarity, "For the people, livelihood is paramount. It doesn't matter who leads Amegakure; what they need is a sense of security. Ultimately, the only way to ensure that is for me to grow even stronger."
Konan's eyes flickered with a hint of doubt. "That may be true, but..."
Naruto glanced up with a playful smile. "Konan-nee, you don't look so good. Are you constipated lately?"
Konan shot him a sidelong glance. "If this continues, I just might be."
Naruto gave her a thumbs-up. "No problem! I know a tried-and-true home remedy for that. Works wonders, dattebayo!"
Finally, Konan rolled her eyes so hard she nearly saw the back of her head. She muttered, "With emotional intelligence like yours, no wonder that girl Hinata pined for you for over a decade without you noticing."
In the end, it was Konan who stepped forward to pacify the gathered villagers, dispersing them for now.
However, this was merely a temporary solution and did not address the root of the issue.
Late Night.
In his room, Naruto sat on the toilet, dealing with "business" while casually reading a scroll of secret techniques.
"Hmm?" As he reached the final scroll, his expression grew serious.
"This is...?"
The scroll detailed the forbidden technique Reanimation by Sacrificing One's Life, created by Chiyo of Sunagakure. The technique allowed the user to transfer their life force to a deceased person, reviving them.
"So this is the technique Chiyo-baa used to bring Gaara back to life?" Naruto murmured.
The scroll, however, clearly stated the limitations of the technique. In addition to the user's life being the cost, there was another restriction:
The technique could only be used on someone who had been dead for less than a day. After death, a soul lingers in the mortal realm for one day before departing to the afterlife. Even if the technique were used to restore the body, it would be impossible to bring the soul back, leaving the revived person in a vegetative state—a "living corpse."
"So that's how it works," Naruto mused. "If we hadn't recovered Gaara's body back then, even if Chiyo-baa had succeeded, Gaara's consciousness wouldn't have returned. Life and death truly are mysterious. We who are alive should remain respectful of them. This scroll... I won't learn it. I'll return it to Sunagakure when I see Gaara next."
After carefully putting the scroll away, Naruto reached out to grab some toilet paper, only to find... nothing.
"Huh? Where's the paper? I swear there was half a roll left last time... Did Konan-nee take it?"
Knock, knock, knock! Naruto pounded on the wall with urgency.
After a while, Konan's cold voice came from the other side. "What is it?"
Naruto pleaded, "Konan-nee, where did you put the toilet paper? I just finished, and I can't wipe!"
A soft laugh seemed to escape before Konan replied in her usual icy tone, "Didn't you have a 'home remedy'? Is it not working now?"
"Uh..." Naruto's voice softened. "I miscalculated. I won't do it again. Please, have mercy this time!"
Click.
At the base of the wall, a small panel slid open, revealing a narrow gap. A roll of toilet paper rolled through.
"Ah, thank goodness." Naruto sighed in relief, picked up the paper, and began to clean up.
"Next time," he muttered to himself, "I'll invent a self-cleaning toilet with the Asura Path. Being at someone else's mercy is just not my style, dattebayo!"
But as he wiped, a fiery sensation spread from his posterior.
Konan's teasing voice echoed, "Oh, by the way, that paper is coated with Amegakure's special ghost pepper oil. Refreshing, isn't it?"
Naruto broke out in a cold sweat. "Note to self: Never, ever make Konan-nee angry again!"
The sound of the toilet flushing finally broke the tension.
Naruto sighed in relief, "Flush toilets are amazing. Every time the water swirls down, it feels like all my worries are being washed away..."
Outside Amegakure.
Madara Uchiha gripped the throat of an Amegakure patrol ninja, lifting him effortlessly into the air.
"Ugh—!" The ninja struggled, his kunai slipping from his hand and clattering to the ground.
Madara glanced coldly at the weapon. "Oh? A Flying Thunder God kunai? So this is the 'protection' he's given you? Pathetic. You can't even channel chakra into it."
Crack!
With a twist, Madara snapped the ninja's neck.
Whoosh!
Above, a shadow darted through the sky.
Madara looked up to see Sai riding his ink bird.
"Hmph, an Edo Tensei body," Madara muttered. "No matter. Let him be. In the end, Naruto has nowhere to run."
Minutes Later.
Madara descended upon Amegakure in his Susano'o, its immense form towering over the village.
The rain from Rain Tiger at Will Technique was repelled by the sheer force of Susano'o's chakra.
In his quarters, Naruto immediately sensed the disturbance.
Knock, knock, knock!
"Naruto!" Konan burst through the door, her expression urgent.
Naruto, already dressed in his flame-patterned cloak, nodded calmly. "I know. Repelling the intruder is my duty as the leader of Amegakure, dattebayo."
Under the cold rain, Madara stood within his Three-Faced Susano'o, his expression wild with confidence.
"Naruto," he sneered, "to thank you for the 'surprise' you gave me last time, I've prepared a little gift for you. Take this!"
Boom!
The Three-Faced Susano'o formed seals simultaneously with its six massive hands.
