Chapter 91 - 91~NO MORE RUNNING

I was moving before I even realized it, my hand reaching out, wrapping gently around Olivia's small wrist, tugging her back toward me like she was some fragile thing that might shatter under too much weight.

What the heck is she trying to do? What does her words mean?

"She doesn't know what you mean," I said quickly, my voice sharp and cutting through the thick silence. 

I pulled Olivia protectively against my side, feeling her stiffen, confused, scared.

"Ma'am… this is my little sister…" I stated, still in a state of confusion.

Ian's mother tilted her head slightly, studying me the way a hawk might study a mouse before deciding whether to swoop in.

"Oh, but she does," she said softly, too softly. Her lips curled into something that wasn't quite a smile. "Children often know far more than we think. The question is whether you do know who real parents are."

"I am Olivia Thompson, stop asking for my real parents!"
