The calm had returned indeed, but the stay inside the rest point was no more restful. Of course, this state of things was mostly caused by Vera's attitude—even though she was just sitting on the ground invisible behind the altar in the middle of the room, her sole presence was enough to discourage Noah from making any sound.

It wasn't that he was afraid of her; he was just not comfortable with starting another fight with her. He knew her kind—she was the kind of person to pick on anything when they were angry. He had learned that the best way to avoid getting into more trouble was to avoid them altogether.

Still, he found himself having rather violent thoughts. One could call it replaying the match after it already ended, but for Noah, it was more of a way to calm himself.

Or at least, that was the original idea.
