Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 Showing a Hint of One's Capabilities

Chu Feng picked up the brush and quickly scribbled out a prescription before handing it to Alchemy Master Niu.

"Remember, take it three times a day as a decoction orally! Avoid cold-natured foods!"

Alchemy Master Niu took the prescription with skepticism and examined it closely, only to see that the handwriting was quite sloppy. He struggled to decipher it but eventually managed to recognize the ingredients.

Ding Peng, stone frost flower, Astragalus...

A total of eight medicinal ingredients, all quite common.

"Can this prescription really cleanse the poison within my body?" He was well acquainted with the ingredients listed and didn't believe that the prescription could actually be effective.

"Hmph, if I didn't see some use in you, I wouldn't bother saving you! I see you are skeptical, bring me a silver needle and I'll show you what's mighty!" Chu Feng said coldly with a smirk. Since his rebirth, he needed to quickly heighten his strength.

He then thought about recruiting a subordinate, which would make handling matters more convenient.

If it had been his previous life, even a Second Grade Pill Master, let alone an Alchemy King, would need his permission to serve as his subordinate.

Alchemy Master Niu was not even qualified to carry his shoes.

Now, having been reborn, and with the Sword King Mansion in such decline, plus his own powers not yet grown, he was content to make do with a Second Grade Alchemist for now.

After getting hold of a silver needle, Chu Feng grabbed Alchemy Master Niu's arm and jabbed it into the Chize acupoint located on the elbow joint.

"What are you doing?" Alchemy Master Niu was shocked, but it was already too late to dodge. "Ugh..."

He only felt a slight numbness in his arm, then his eyes widened with surprise and he stuttered, "My, my arm that was swollen and painful, it doesn't hurt anymore... miraculous, truly miraculous!"

Chu Feng seemed to have expected this reaction and remained calm.

Such a demeanor, in Alchemy Master Niu's eyes, immediately struck him as profound and inscrutable. His belief in Chu Feng's abilities grew stronger.

"Elder Chu, my other arm is also terribly swollen and painful, please help me with another needle!" After receiving one needle in his right arm which greatly alleviated his pain, Alchemy Master Niu promptly stretched out his left arm toward Chu Feng.

Chu Feng gave him another needle.

With both arms feeling comfortable, Alchemy Master Niu's belief in Chu Feng's abilities increased even more.

However, he still wasn't sure about the effectiveness of the prescription.

He would know the results only after taking it.

"Are you still going to pursue the matter with your son's beating?" Chu Feng asked with a slight smile, turning his head to glance at Young Master Niu who was holding his groin in pain, with an agonized expression on his face.

"He deserves to be beaten!" At this point, how could Alchemy Master Niu dare bother Chu Feng with such trifles, when his very life was still in Chu Feng's hands.

Whether he could save his life depended on Chu Feng's mood.

"Dad, you can't just let this bastard Chu Feng off like that!" Young Master Niu suddenly began to cry and wail.

"Shut your mouth! Being beaten by Elder Chu is an honor for you!" Alchemy Master Niu glared at his son and scolded him. Then, turning back to Chu Feng with a smile plastered on his face as he was about to leave, "Elder Chu, how can I completely cleanse this poison from my body?"

"Come back in three days if there's any effect," Chu Feng said, before stepping out to the counter to start purchasing medicines.

He handed the shop assistant a note, with each medicinal ingredient having been carefully considered and calculated by Chu Feng. There was no choice; he only had ten gold coins and had to spend them sparingly.

Seeing that Alchemy Master Niu had already been so courteous to Chu Feng, the shop assistant naturally did not dare show any negligence.

He promptly and neatly began preparing the medicines according to the prescription Chu Feng had provided.

A moment later, all the herbs were gathered.

"Prince Chu, here are your medicines, a total of hundred silver taels!" The clerk placed the medicine on the counter—a large bagful.

There were more than twenty kinds of herbs, each individually packaged.

In comparison, the Medicine Hall's service was quite excellent, and the quality of the herbs sold was also guaranteed.

Much more reliable than the herbs sold at some outdoor stalls and small pharmacies.

Chu Feng tossed a gold ingot to the clerk and picked up the medicine to leave. He had obtained the herbs needed to refine the Yang Fire; the next step was to make the most of his time to refine the Yang Fire within his body, turning waste into treasure.

To refine it into an Abnormal Fire.

With the memory of Alchemy Venerate, owning an Abnormal Fire would undoubtedly be a powerful enhancement for Chu Feng.

Whether for alchemy or combat, it would become a significant asset.

It could even allow Chu Feng's Alchemy Path Cultivation to surpass that of his past life.

The Yang Fire inside his body would flare up periodically, causing not only great pain but also placing his life in grave danger.

"Wife, are you still waiting for me? Let's go, let's head home!" Chu Feng noticed the cold and proud class beauty Lin Yuxin hadn't left yet. He immediately approached with a smile, ready to grab her small hand.

"Who's waiting for you, don't flatter yourself!"

Lin Yuxin avoided Chu Feng's wolfish grasp with a cold face and quickly left.

Her cultivation was already at the Fourth Rank Swordsman, a full two minor realms stronger than Chu Feng. Truly a top student of the class, excellent in all aspects.

"Hehe, you must be worried that Alchemy Master Niu would deal with me and you're not at ease, so you stayed and waited for me, right?" Chu Feng asked with a smile.

"Who cares about you, don't flatter yourself!" Lin Yuxin's pretty face blushed slightly, and her steps quickened. "Also, earlier inside the Medicine Hall, when you said you were my... boyfriend, it was just to get rid of Young Master Niu's entanglement. Don't take it seriously!"

"What if I take it seriously?" Chu Feng enjoyed watching the haughty cold beauty blush and show shyness.

"That's your problem, I've made myself clear!" Biting her red lips, she felt a tinge of regret inside. If she had known earlier that Chu Feng would be so troublesome, she wouldn't have used him as a shield no matter what.

Her tone was icy cold, and her pace quickened even more.

Because she was afraid that Chu Feng would catch up and pester her.

However, after walking briskly for a short while, hearing no sound from behind, she couldn't help but look back in confusion. Only to find that Chu Feng had long since stopped following her.

But had gone in another direction instead.

She was slightly startled and grumbled, "Since when did this guy become so spirited? He never used to be so free and easy. At least he would have followed me and pursued me." Lin Yuxin realized that Chu Feng seemed to have changed.

Inside the Medicine Hall, as soon as Chu Feng left, Alchemy Master Niu eagerly asked the clerk who gathered the herbs.

"That Chu lad just now, what herbs did he gather?"

The clerk promptly smiled in a flattering manner, "Alchemy Master Niu, I'll write it out for you right away!" As he spoke, the clerk listed the herbs Chu Feng had gathered.

Upon receiving the list, Alchemy Master Niu examined it closely.

Suddenly exclaiming in surprise, "Cold Iron Powder, Silver Water, Peacock Gallbladder... Among these herbs, several of them are commonly used to tame Abnormal Fire. What is he trying to do? Tame an Abnormal Fire?"

"This, this is too inconceivable!"
