"Maria and Chris Petrov are proud as they watch their newly born son Damien be baptized. "I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit," the priest says as he takes his wet thumb and traces a cross onto Damien's forehead. The baby squirms in discomfort until the water seems to be gone. "Our son is going to be something great." Maria exclaims with tears of joy running through her face. "Yes, yes he is." Chris replies with a resigned look on his forehead.
"You spent all our money gambling?!" Chris was pissed at his wife who had come home at 2 in the morning smelling like booze and cigarettes. How were they supposed to support their six year old son and four year old daughter? At that moment Damien came down the stairs of their two story apartment, he shouldn't be exposed to things like this. When Maria was sober she was a great person, but when she wasn't... "This damn kid's the problem!" She screamed while running at him and pulling a knife from her jean pocket. The boy froze.
"No, Damien!" Chris reacted the only way he knew how, and tackled her to the ground. Maria's bones cracked against the weight of Chris' body. Blood seeped from his side where the knife had hit him. Damien had only been sliced in the side of the neck where dark blood oozed from the open wound. It was a relief that he hadn't been seriously injured.
After that day Damien joined many fighting programs and practiced hard for them everyday. The only time he would ever show any emotion was when he made his opponent hurt. Elena was scared for her brother and what he was. He was truly a sadistic monster that only wanted to inflict pain upon others. She was so terrified that she analyzed all of his fights, and even sparred with him a few times just to make sure she could beat him if the time ever called for it.
It had been years since that incident, although it still felt like yesterday. His legs freezing up and unable to move as the cold steel knife flashed towards him. The fear in his father's eyes as he watched his mom try to murder him. The fear in her eyes as she was tackled to the floor. The crunch of bone that immediately told Damien she was dead, and finally the tears he heard every night coming from their father who had shut himself down. Damien and Elena were lucky to hear a sentence from him anymore, although he would do anything they asked. This world was cruel and Damien's one want was to remove humanity from it.
...Present Day
Elena was on her knees, sobbing. Tears streamed down her face as she saw her brother return. She had sworn to rid the world of him, but she still wasn't strong enough, wasn't as strong as him. The man Elena had seen before, Kath, it was a lie. Right now she was staring straight into the devil's eyes. Damien Petrov was back, laying right infront of her. The first person to be able to straight out deny the fog and all that it did. The one that was as powerful as a god coming straight from hell. Well as close to a god as one can get for there is no such thing as a god and Damien was proof of that. At that moment Sashe ran out onto the rooftop, "Kath are you okay?! Please don't die, Kath I love you."
"I love you." Kath's mother was the only person that had ever said that to him. He wouldn't be fooled by such words, love wasn't real. It was a mask for the utter hate and despise one felt for another. Human nature was despicable, that was the only truth. They had to disappear into the void of nothing ness. There was no debating that. That's why Kath gained the power above all forms of government. That's why with one tap of his phone he would send the signal to launch every nuclear warhead on the planet, all 12,000 of them that were under his sole control. No Kath hadn't done that, Damien had. Kath and Damien were one, but Kath wasn't haunted by Damien's past
...Present Day
Kath looked on his way out so Sashe ran to him. "Please don't die, Kath, I love you." She screamed while getting closer to him. She was surprised when he stood up looking emotionless and cold. Relief flooded her nerves for a second before he started speaking. "You love me?" He spat out the words as if she'd cursed him. "You've always been a burden to me, since two years ago when we met, you are nothing, I'd never love you let alone like you. In fact you'd be better off if you just killed yourself." Sashe couldn't speak, her eyes went wide with grief it was so much pain, like knives twisting and burying themselves deep within her chest. There was too much pain to bear, to cry, to even blink. Sashe's legs moved on their own walking forward, right to the edge of the skyscraper hotel ledge they were on. Before she could even think about it, Sashe jumped.
"Noooooo!" Elena screamed as Sashe hurled off the side of the building. Elena was paralyzed with fear and sadness, how could Kath, no wait Damien do this? This was a new low even for him. No she had to gain control, he'd go for her next. Elena stood up brushing her grief and emotion to the side. Standing tall she stared her older brother in the eyes, determined to destroy him.
Damien felt alive with more energy than ever. He grinned as he saw his little sister trying her hardest to stand up to him. "Damien, killing her, that's a new low even for you." He grinned a broad, evil grin in return. "It was a necessary precaution, wouldn't want her to get in the way of a sibling rivalry."
His lips smiled yet his eyes remained cold. The endless black void, could and desolate staring through her and to her soul. "I'm glad you can make it to the end of the world with me Elena, I wouldn't want to spend it with anybody else but my little sister." With that, he ran at her.
