Chapter 147 - The clutch (146)

Uryu began riding the Reishi toward the battlefield where Starrk and Ichigo were clashing.

They were going crazy. He swore he saw Starrk slam Ichigo into Las Noches. Hm, the man was in his Resurrección state and all that, and he was pushing this version of Ichigo this far.

Uryu could feel it deep in his bones—this version of Ichigo was strong, probably the strongest version of Ichigo he had ever witnessed.

Yet Ichigo's power felt odd. It felt unstable, as if glue was barely holding it together. It was Sora's Reiryoku.

The second the last drop of it vanished from Ichigo's body, he would lose access to this state.

He should have lost access to it a while ago. Yet, as Uryu looked closer, he could see Orihime using her power to rewind time on Ichigo's body every time he took damage.

She would heal him. No—Sora's Reiryoku was unaffected by her power, as if it was something too complex for her ability to unwind.

Though at this rate, Ichigo had only a few minutes left in this state before he would be more drained than Uryu after being forced to train with Sora.

Goddamn demon.

Yes, although Uryu trained more, Sora's training was more hardcore, more demanding, and so on.

Uryu then got ready to become the most annoying support known to mankind.

Taking a bunch of sand, he imbued it with his Reiryoku before creating a bag, placing the sand inside, and launching it toward Starrk.

As the arrow flew next to Starrk, the Espada leaned back to avoid it. However, instead of the arrow going past him, it exploded, sending sand everywhere.

And the game began. As Starrk launched an attack toward Ichigo, the boy appeared behind him and slashed at the Espada's back.

Starrk used Hierro to harden his back, only for Ichigo to appear in front of him and slash at his gut.

Fuck.

Okay, this was annoying. His eyes landed on Uryu's smug look. Oh, this little shit.

Rushing toward Uryu, the Quincy simply smiled.

As Starrk reached him, he prepped himself to get hit by a Getsuga Tensho.

However, nothing came.

Uryu appeared in the sky next to Ichigo.

And the Espada hit... a single grain of sand.

Really.

Starrk watched as Uryu created wind currents to keep the sand floating in the air.

There was sand everywhere in the sky.

It was becoming hard to even detect where they were to begin with.

And in that instant—

Ichigo vanished.

Reappeared behind Starrk.

SWIPE!

A blade nearly grazed the Espada's throat.

Starrk twisted at the last second, barely dodging, his eyes widening. They are dangerous, he thought to himself.

Another flick.

Ichigo teleported again.

BOOM!

A Getsuga Tensho erupted at Starrk's feet, forcing him to evade mid-air.

Uryu, from a distance, was already firing precision arrows, keeping Starrk on the defensive while simultaneously positioning Ichigo in optimal attack locations.

BZZZT—BOOM!

Uryu smirked.

And in a split second—he swapped places with Ichigo.

CLANG!

Starrk's blade crashed against Ichigo's in a thunderous impact.

"Damn it—!" Starrk muttered, leaping back.

The assist game was crazy.

Ichigo grinned. "Nice work, Uryu!"

Uryu adjusted his glasses. "Of course. Someone has to carry this team."

Orihime, standing at the edge of the battlefield, was already tending to any injured allies.

Meanwhile, Uryu?

Hadn't lost a single drop of Reiryoku since the fight started.

Starrk sighed again. "Man... this is so annoying..."

Now, onto the fight with the women.

The fight was between shark mommy, the snow prince, and the lab baby.

Truly a wonderful sight, and the fact that more than 50% of the fighters had a big breast size really helped keep the action going.

Watching Nemu jump from the floor to the air to crack Harribel's armor—her chest swaying in perfect rhythm—was truly a sight that only the heavens were meant to witness, yet us mere mortals were able to see it.

Rukia ducked under another attack, using her ice to freeze all the water around.

Harribel responded by boiling her water before launching it at Rukia, who, with a wave of her Zanpakuto, turned that hot water into extremely cold ice.

Froze it solid, harder than most teenagers when they wake up in the morning.

Nemu blocked a strike from Harribel before, with all her might, throwing a punch. Harribel, the strategic fighter she was, blocked it with her blade.

Then, grabbing Nemu by the arm, she dislocated her shoulder before slamming her into the floor.

Rukia, noticing this, rushed toward Harribel, exhaling as she unleashed a devastating gust of cold air.

Crack.

Rukia looked at her hand. A crack was forming... she was reaching her limit in this form.

The crack, however, vanished as Orihime's healing was placed on full effect, reversing the damage done to her body.

So this is what it feels like to have a competent healer on the team.

Yeah, this felt nice. She could get used to this feeling.

As Harribel stood in the air, she looked down at Nemu on the ground and raised her hand—more precisely, her sword.

Her sword glowed yellow. Harribel slashed at Nemu, firing a high-pressure wave with enough power to cut the girl in half.

Nemu's eyes widened. However, before the slash could hit her—

She vanished.

Reappeared somewhere else.

Harribel watched as her attack hit nothing but the ground.

The girl had moved.

How...?

Uryu could be seen sighing a bit. Okay, that was a decent assist, though he didn't know why he could foresee her being attacked.

The extra pupils in his eyes vanished at that instant.

'One step closer to the huzz,' Sora internally thought to himself after temporarily lending Uryu his power.
