Chapter 144 - I accept your deal (143)

Sora sat cross-legged, still getting used to the idea that he was the Soul King's son.

Cool. Awesome. Definitely not gonna have a mental breakdown over that later.

Then—

The Soul King raised a hand.

A new image flickered into existence.

And the second Sora saw it—

He immediately noped the fuck out.

Because staring back at him was a thing.

Not a person.

Not a Hollow.

Not a Shinigami.

Just pure chaos.

If Sora were to describe it, it was as if someone took every Y/N in existence, fused them into one being, got Satan to fuse with that thing, gave them some Black Air Force energy, put on some NBA YoungBoy in the background, gave them that King Von mentality, and made them as strong as the Soul King.

FUUUUUUCKKKK NOOOO, Sora would not fight that even if he was being offered free pussy.

A thing that shouldn't exist.

A being that defied reality just by being perceived.

Something older than the Soul King himself.

Sora blinked.

Then looked at the Soul King.

Then looked back at the Thing.

Then—

He casually stood up, dusted himself off, and turned around.

"Yeah, no. That's above my pay grade. Not doing that."

The Soul King tilted his head. "You will."

Sora snorted. "Why the fuck would I be able to do it if you couldn't?" Like, come on, he was the Soul King for Christ's sake, not like he was unable to do shit about it.

He folded his arms. "Like, weren't you the big dog? Couldn't you just, I dunno, stand up and—"

And then—

Sora froze.

His eyes flicked back to the image of the Soul King.

No limbs.

No organs.

No nothing.

Just a corpse, barely held together.

His breath hitched.

"...Oh."

Sora swallowed hard.

"Uh—my bad." Sometimes he forgot shit, okay?

The Soul King nodded. "Apology accepted." The gentle man once again accepted his apology.

Sora sighed, rubbing his temples.

"Still, I ain't fighting that outerversal-busted-ass being." He pointed at the writhing Thing. "There's literally nothing you could do to make me."

And then—

It happened.

A sound.

A horrible, gut-wrenching, soul-crushing sound.

The unmistakable clap of cheeks.

Sora's entire body seized up.

Followed by—

A woman's voice.

His mother's voice.

"Ahh—! Right there! That's the spot—!!"

Sora's soul exited his body.

The sound of what seems to be his mother getting her guts rearranged could be clearly heard in the background.

He whipped around so fast he nearly got whiplash.

His mouth opened—

But nothing came out.

Because how the fuck do you even react to that?!

He turned back to the Soul King, his expression completely hollowed out.

Then—

He dropped to his knees.

"I accept." He begged. "Please. Stop this torture."

The Soul King smiled.

Sora groaned. "This is blackmail."

The Soul King nodded. "It is."

Sora's eye twitched. "That's fucked up." Being blackmailed into fighting this busted-ass being was not fun.

The Soul King shrugged. "You do it all the time."

Sora sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"It's funny when I do it to other people." He muttered. "Not now, though."

The Soul King let out a soft chuckle.

Sora took a moment to regain his sanity.

Then—

Something clicked.

The Soul King, from what he remembered from the very good history lesson, barely showcased any emotion, yet this one seemed to have the skill to blackmail someone—something the original would never do.

He squinted at the Soul King.

"...You're showing a lot of emotions."

The Soul King raised a brow. "Is that so?"

Sora nodded. "Yeah. Didn't expect that."

He crossed his arms. "From what I've seen, you're usually emotionless."

The Soul King hummed.

Then—he dropped the bombshell.

"I am not the original Soul King."

Sora blinked.

"...Huh?"

The Soul King continued, "I am merely a fragment. A piece of the original Soul King that was attached to you since birth."

Sora froze.

"That fragment... merged with you."

He gestured at Sora's chest.

"In a way, I have become something akin to your Zanpakutō spirit."

Sora blinked again.

Slowly, his lips curled into a grin.

"Ohh."

He nodded, realization dawning on him.

"So you're part of my soul."

The Soul King nodded.

Sora's grin widened.

"You are me."

The Soul King paused, slightly surprised. "Yes."

Sora's grin only got bigger.

He was so happy he didn't have Yhwach.

The Soul King watched him carefully.

"...You are accepting this rather easily."

Sora shrugged. "Dude, I've been hit with so many reality-breaking revelations today. This one's like—"

He waved a hand.

"Top ten best things that happened to me today."

The Soul King chuckled softly.

Now that this was sorted, how the fuck does he fight Cosmic Satan?

"So, uh..." he pointed at the Thing. "Now that I've accepted to fight basically Satan, how the fuck do I do this?"

The Soul King exhaled.

"At your current state?"

He met Sora's gaze.

"You would lose."

Sora tilted his head. "Like... barely lose, or—" He was trying to keep some semblance of dignity here.

The Soul King deadpanned.

"A sneeze from it could kill you." Goddamn.

Sora's eye twitched.

"...Damn."

He nodded solemnly.

"So this is how Uryū feels."

Once again, throwing shade at his brother.

The Soul King simply moved on.

"You possess The Almighty. I will teach you how to use those eyes of yours."

Sora perked up.

"Oh, shit. Really?"

The Soul King nodded.

Then, he raised a hand—

And suddenly, everything around them shifted.

The stars twisted.

The sky rippled.

And in the vast emptiness, Sora's eyes began to glow.

The Soul King spoke:

"The Almighty is more than just foresight. It is the ability to rewrite fate itself."

Sora's breath hitched.

"You will be able to see all possible futures. But that is only the beginning."

"With true mastery, you will not only see the future—"

"You will be able to change it."

"Erase possibilities from existence."

"Shape destiny as you see fit."

Sora's mind reeled.

"Wait—" He held up a hand. "So I can literally rewrite fate?"

The Soul King nodded.

Sora blinked.

Then—

His lips curled into a mischievous grin.

"So I can retcon all the stupid decisions I've ever made?"

The Soul King sighed.

"...Within limits."

Sora snapped his fingers. "Damn."

Hehehehe, hahahahahahaha.

You hear this, Byakuya? You will never, ever catch me lacking.

I WIN.

HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAhaha.

The Soul King fragment looked at the deranged teen in front of him, sighed a bit.

This was his son.
