Chapter 40 - Medicine

I took these meds until they lost their spark,

Now I'm left with shadows, nights cold and dark.

Depression whispers, insomnia screams,

"Yeah my glass might be empty but I still might sip it."

Trauma etched deep in my fractured mind,

They locked me away, said help I'd find.

Pills kept changing, names kept stacking,

But each dose left something lacking.

From numb to broken, then back again,

A silent war I fight within.
