"And then,"
"this happened."
Vanyaa finally calmed down a little after emptying her heart in front of Alden.
She had been through a lot recently. Too much, honestly.
It all started on a perfectly normal day.
Her mom had just come back from work, like always. And just like always, Vanyaa wasn't allowed to go outside.
The reason?
Apparently, the world was "too dangerous" for her. A constant excuse.
She never understood why her mom was so strict.
Vanyaa still listened to her because her mom seemed to have a good reason.
But that day, something felt different.
Her mom had a faint smile. When Vanyaa asked her why, she casually mentioned meeting an "interesting client."
A boy. Around Vanyaa's age.
That was all it took. Curiosity: triggered. So, naturally, she did the reasonable thing.
She broke into her mom's office.
Her mom was always extremely cautious. Vanyaa knew it wouldn't be easy, but she managed to swipe some files—just a few. Enough to get what she needed.
