Thalion leaped into the air, his body arcing gracefully as he anticipated the serpent's movement. Just as he expected, the creature disappeared from its spot in the sky and reappeared elsewhere on the ground, its scales glinting menacingly in the fading light. 'That's what I wanted,' Thalion thought, a grim smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. 'The serpent on the ground.'
But before Thalion could land, a scorching fireball shot toward him, the air sizzling with heat. Thalion twisted in mid-air, his body moving with fluid grace as he dodged the unexpected attack. He landed lightly on the ground, his eyes narrowing as he processed what had just happened. The Abyssal Serpent didn't have the ability to shoot fireballs—that belonged to the Crimson Adder. And even then, it shouldn't have been able to fire so quickly without charging up its attack.
