Chapter 34 - The Kinney Way

The road to Kinney Palace was rough and wild. It felt like we were driving to the end of the earth, which didn't bother me at all - a world between everyone I have ever known and us, was exactly what I needed.

It was exactly the fresh start I wanted.

Knowing I could never bump into Ryder or Akira or Michael.

Knowing I don't ever have to see them again…brought me a little comfort.

After hours of driving, the smooth road turned to rocks, then vanished into a dark forest.

"Boundary ahead," Jack said, his eyes glued to his phone—no signal for the last 200 miles, but he'd been typing relentlessly.

Perhaps he was coding? Or maybe scheming? And there might be a small chance that he was a psycho killer and he was drafting a eulogy for when he finally murdered me.

"What's going on in that head of yours?" He asked me without taking his attention away from his phone.

"Oh nothing" I said "Just silently praying that you are not a serial killer, that's all" I joked.
