Chapter 133 - Dawn's Promise

I followed Father through the hills and valleys, my stomach growling with hunger. The sun was shining, and the air smelled like flowers. Father showed me where the best berries grew and how to catch fish in the stream. I tried to catch them, but they swam away too fast. Father laughed and helped me catch one.

When we got back to our nest, Mother had a yummy breakfast ready. There were all sorts of fish, and I ate until I was full. Father smiled at me and said, "I'm so proud of you, Tharros. You're growing up to be strong and brave."

I beamed with pride. "Thanks, Father," I said, my mouth full of food.

Father ruffled my scales. "I'm glad you're back home safe. We're happy to have you back."

I nodded, feeling happy and full. I loved spending time with Mother and Father, and I was glad to be home.

Father looked at Mother, but before he could say anything, Mother spoke first "Aetherius I know you going to go a hunt and get yourself overeating again!" She said.

Father chuckled and said, "Guilty as charged, my love. I did have a big hunt yesterday." Mother playfully rolled her eyes and said, "You know you need to take care of yourself, Aetherius. You're not getting any younger." Father smiled and wrapped his tail around her, pulling her close. "I'll try to pace myself, my dear. For you, at least." I watched them, feeling happy to see them teasing each other like that.

Father smiled, "and beside I'm at my good youth of 84 years old at the adult stage!"

Mother laughed and playfully nudged Father with her snout. "You're still a young dragon in my eyes, Aetherius. But seriously, 84 is still young for our kind, isn't it?"

Father chuckled and nodded. "Indeed it is, my love. I've got many years of hunting and exploring left in me. And at the adult stage, I'm feeling more energetic than ever."

I smiled, happy to see my parents happy and joking together. Father's words made me feel happy and secure, knowing that he was strong and healthy.

In that moment, everything felt right with the world.

Father grabbed using his jaw to grip me as he muffled. "Alright, I will just play Tharros a bit outside for a while."

Mother smiled and nodded. "That sounds like a wonderful idea, Aetherius. Tharros could use some playtime with you."

Father gently tossed me into the air, and I let out a delighted squeak as I soared upwards. I felt the wind rushing past me, and then Father's jaws closed around me again, catching me safely.

I giggled and squirmed in his grasp, trying to wriggle free. Father chuckled and began to chase me around the clearing, his footsteps thundering on the ground. I squealed with delight, running as fast as my little legs could carry me.

The sun shone down on us, casting dappled shadows across the grass. I felt carefree and happy, enjoying the playful roughhousing with Father.

We ran and played, our laughter and roars filling the air. I was having the best time with Father, and I didn't want it to end.

As we played, Father taught me how to dodge and weave around obstacles. I stumbled a few times, but Father was always there to catch me.

Eventually, we collapsed on the grass, panting and grinning at each other. I was exhausted but exhilarated from our playtime.

Father smiled and nudged me gently with his snout. "You're getting faster, Tharros. You're a natural."

I beamed with pride, feeling happy and content after our playtime together.

After our playtime, which had lasted for most of the afternoon, Father and I walked back to the nest, tired but happy. The sun was beginning to dip lower in the sky, casting a warm glow over the landscape. Mother greeted us with a warm smile and a bowl of fresh water. "Looks like you two had quite the adventure," she said, chuckling.

Father nodded, his tongue lolling out of his mouth. "Tharros is a quick learner. He's going to be a fantastic dragon one day." I puffed out my chest, feeling proud of myself.

Mother smiled and handed me a piece of fruit from the nearby basket. "I'm glad to see you're having so much fun with Father," she said. I took a bite of the fruit, savoring the sweet taste.

Father settled down beside me, his eyes closing as he let out a contented sigh. I leaned against him, feeling safe and loved. As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the landscape, I snuggled up close to Father.

Mother wrapped her tail around us both, holding us close. In that moment, I felt grateful for my family and our little nest. I knew I was loved, and that was all that mattered. With a happy heart, I drifted off to sleep, surrounded by the people I loved most.

As the night deepened, the stars began to twinkle in the sky. Father's wing wrapped around me, a warm and cozy shelter. I felt safe and content, knowing I was protected by my loving family. In my dreams, I chased after butterflies and played with Father again, our laughter echoing through the valleys.

The night passed quietly, filled with sweet dreams and warmth. As the first light of dawn crept over the horizon, I stirred, feeling refreshed and ready for a new day. Father and Mother were already awake, watching the sunrise together.

"Good morning, Tharros," Mother said, smiling. "Today's going to be a beautiful day." I yawned and stretched, feeling the warmth of the sun on my scales. Father gently shifted his wing, allowing me to emerge.

"Good morning, Mother. Good morning, Father," I replied, my voice filled with excitement. Father smiled and nudged me gently. "Let's go find some breakfast, shall we?" he suggested. My stomach growled in anticipation, and I nodded eagerly.

Together, we set out to start a new day, filled with adventure and joy.
