Chapter 235 - Registration

Kanto League, Indigo Plateau

Today is the day to register participants for the League convention.

It's a once-a-year event for a region now. So most of League's energy has been mobilized over here now.

Most of the Joys and Jenny's have been mobilized to this side for work.

The Elite Four Champions, except for one on rotating duty, the rest have gathered at Indigo Plateau, and they are now Indigo Plateau's biggest security.

Of course... that doesn't mean that there aren't any other security forces...those who came to participate in the tournament are an extremely strong security force in their own right...

Disrupting someone's finances is like killing their parents. Seriously, in this situation, disturbing this event that they used to make a name for themselves was in itself a matter of breaking someone's fortune...

There weren't many chances in one's life that one could make a name for themselves, so if they were really screwed up, then how could they possibly tolerate it.

That's why it's too dangerous to mess things up from within the Assembly in this current situation. But was it really not dangerous to engage in attacks from outside the conference?

One could only say that whoever dared to underestimate League would have to pay a huge price.

"Champion Lance! The Hunter League inside Viridian Forest has been cleared out by Ms. Amarillo.

Yellow, Amarillo del Bosque Verde, a lass with Power of Viridian, is Champion Red's close friend, and is trending further.

"Saffron City neighborhood is all purged as well. Gym Leader Sabrina went down hard, and Saffron City's aftermath may be a little underfunded."

"Cerulean City's purge is mostly underway and will be over in another day at most."

"The same goes for Pewter City."

"Viridian City's has been completely resolved."

"Celadon City's purge is complete!"

"Both sides of Vermillion City and Fuchsia City are also complete."

"The purge of Cinnabar Island is complete, however there were unexpected occurrences."

Lance, who had been nodding his head mechanically before, raised his head and looked at the liaison in charge of the Cinnabar Island area in front of him and asked, "What are the unexpected circumstances?"

The liaison, a little nervous by Lance's look, stopped his waist pole and said, "Mr. Blaine, the Cinnabar Gym Leader, is also coming to the Indigo Plateau Conference site to observe the ceremony."

Previously Blaine had been self-anointed for years.

Barricading himself completely within Cinnabar Island from contact with outsiders.

Lance also froze for a moment when he heard the news, and after a few moments, he said, "Good thing, it's not like Blaine's strength is low! And it will be an incentive for the players if the Gym Leaders get together."

"Okay, I'll arrange the greeting!"

"Yes, do a good job, give Blaine and Granny Agatha the same treatment. Both are elders."

"Yes!"

Lance waved his hand towards the group in front of him, then said, "Alright, hard work to a few of you, and please be on top of the job of greeting the Gym Leader afterward, and finish it carefully!"

"Yes!" *n

"Everyone call in the next wave of people waiting outside."

Soon, the group went out.

Lance took advantage of this opening to hurriedly rub his temples. Even though today was registration, there was still some work left to be done, and the opening ceremony was two days later, the very tournament was three days later.

Lorelei had gone to take care of the family and the merchants, and Bruno was in charge of escorting the sacred fire.

Granny Agatha... said she was off to spend time with her grandson... hell, where did you get grandson from?

And then the rest of the work was all Lance's... extra work, so to speak...

Before Lance could spout off more, the door to his office was opened again. A wave of people came in again.

Lance straightens up in his chair, then smiles at the men who have come to report for duty.

"Champion Lance, we are responsible for the reception of the Gym Leaders from the other regions as well as the Elite Four champions."

Lance straightened his features once again, then said, "Okay! Go ahead!"

"The Gym Leader of the Johto region isn't coming this time, but Elite Karen says she's coming to visit, but Elite Karen says that to us every year, but actually comes far less often..."

"Still prepare her. league is not short of such a small amount of money. Still give her the reception as per Elite Four."

"Okay Champion Lance! "

With that said, the man stepped back to signal that he was done.

The other man followed up and said, "Report! Champion Lance, I'm the receptionist in charge of the Hoenn region, this time we've got Steven Champion, Gym Leader Wallace coming to watch the ceremony, and along with the entourage, we're ready for the reception!"

Lance nodded and said, "Very good, very spirited, nay, very well done!"

The man stepped back and another stepped forward again, "Champion Lance, we have received a notice from the Sinnoh region on our side..."

Lance heard something not quite right in the man's voice and said, "Don't be nervous, speak slowly. "

The person straightened his expression, then boosted his breath and said, "Our side has received applications from four Elite Four and Cynthia champions to watch the event..."

Numb, people are numb...

Is this the kind of job a human being can come up with?

Kanto's League Convention, Sinnoh's Elite Four Champion came with one more than the local one...

Lance couldn't help but hold his forehead... after a moment he let out a helpless sigh then said, "Just do a good job of receiving them! ..."

"Yes!"

Then the man retreated and another stepped forward.

"Champion Lance, we have received applications from the Hoenn Region, Gym Leader Elesa, Elite Shauntal and Elite Caitlin..."

Rope, you bastard!!!

Lance can't wait to go over there and bar Rope right now...these people are basically coming after him. Including the Saffron City aftermath funding application report that was reported from Saffron City's side was also because of this Rope guy...

"It's fine... reception!"

Seriously, Lance is numb, you just have a bunch more heavyweights he can handle right now.

"Report! The Elite Drasna and Diantha Champions from the Kalos region have also handed over their applications..."

Seriously, they, the receptionists, were initially quite excited when they received these Elite Four Champion's applications to watch the show...after all, normally speaking After all, at the level of Elite Four Champion, they wouldn't easily visit other regions.

But this time, more than one Elite Four Champion from the region they were in charge of had applied.

Now it seems that there are people coming from all the regions...

"Report! No Island Kahuna has come from the Alola region!!!"

The debriefer was a bit apprehensive as he said this. After all, he was in the same situation here as in previous years, and he had expected these colleagues who still looked worried outside the house to be just like him...

Then Lance gave him an appreciative look.

"Good job! Keep it up!"

Crowd: ...

"YES!!!" The receptionist of the Alola region shouts excitedly.

Lance with some expectation looked towards the head of the last Paldea region, from his understanding, Rope didn't seem to have been to the Galar region, so he shouldn't be able to cross paths any more...

Welcoming Lance's expectant eyes, the original excited eyes of the head of the Galar region became a bit scowling.

"Report... Champion Lance... for the Galar region, Gym Leader Nessa, Gym Leader Bea, and Gym Leader Piers as well as Champion Leon have all applied to come as well... "

Good lord, four...

The smile on Lance's face froze completely...

He froze for a moment, then leaned back feebly into the chair behind him and said, "All right, you guys go on down there and arrange it according to the specs that should be there, and I remembered that Indigo Plateau still has an unused reception center, this will come in handy."

"Yes!" *n

"Right! Tell the people in the back to wait five minutes before coming in..."

The crowd looked at each other in disbelief, then said, "Okay Champion Lance."

Then the crowd walked out of the room...

As soon as they were out of the room, Lance was in a chair in a kettle...

The unused reception hall was built at the beginning of the League in order to meet with the major clans for an alliance. In order to show off its power and wealth, the reception hall was built to a level of luxury that would make people laugh.

Even now, it is used to host the Elite Four champions, and there are a lot of rich rooms.

Lance's face showed a hint of ruthlessness.

I don't believe that the people Rope's asshole brought in can still fill up that reception hall?

So five minutes later.

A group of receptionists walked in, and the one at the head introduced himself, "Champion Lance, we are the receptionists in charge of the researchers in each region."

And so the smile that had just been building on Lance's come face... froze once again...

F*CK!!!!

Rope can you bastard be so flashy!!!!

"How's it going??"

The people looked at each other...then the one in the lead said, "We've received applications for management from the chief researchers of all the regions."

"All?"

"All..."

"...Okay, just receive them according to the specifications that should be there."

That was fairly normal, after all, the Kanto region with Professor Oak in it would have quite a few researchers coming here every year...

"Alright, you guys go ahead. I'll be alone."

"Yes."

"By the way, there shouldn't be any other personnel outside."

"Er, no, we're the last ones..."

"Alright, let's go."

"Yes."

And so the staff walked out of Lance's office.

Lance looked up at the sky from his own chair...

Suddenly it felt like Rope the asshole had given himself almost three years of work...

"Good thing Rope the asshole's a pretty good fighter, or I'd have him dead by now... "

But there's an upside...with this kind of outburst, not to mention Servants of God, even if any Legendary Pokémon goes crazy in Indigo Plateau he dares to say that Indigo Plateau is absolutely safe.

With so many Gym Leaders and Elite Four champions in the room...if anyone could screw up, Lance could only respect him as a man.

"Let's just hope this convention goes off without a hitch."

Lance let out a feeble sigh.

In truth he was more worried about Rope's opponents. After all, for those attending the League, Rope was just a Pokémon professor that they weren't too familiar with.

But those who came to see Rope compete this time...one by one, as long as they were trainers, there should be very few who didn't recognize them.

————————

Nurse Joy, who was in charge of registration, knew this problem all too well.

With beads of sweat oozing from the corners of her forehead, she was really inexplicably nervous as she looked at the line of people in front of her.

The titan of academia, Professor Oak.

Kanto's most senior Elite Four, Granny Agatha.

The previous champion, the Viridian Gym Leader, Blue.

The previous champion, the trainer's legend, Red.

The Sinnoh Champion, the idol of countless female trainers, Cynthia.

And the mythological scholar, the Pokémon professor, Rope, who is now a hotshot in the hierarchy, but has no way of getting in touch with her.

And of course, Daisy and Of course, Daisy and Whitley were there.

What's even more interesting is that Cynthia is off to the side talking and laughing with Daisy, looking like they're on the best of terms...

Rope is still feeling helpless and more than a little creeped out.

Obviously he hadn't done anything.

"Hello Nurse Joy, I'm here to register for the race."

Rope said to Nurse Joy with a smile, before handing over the Pokédex he was holding.

The two trainers in the back who had also come to register for the competition looked at Rope's special version of the Pokédex and whispered.

"What kind of Pokédex is that, and how come it's not quite the same as ours?"

"I heard my brother mention it, that seems to be a Rotom Pokédex, my cousin in the Alola region has one and showed it to me, but it still doesn't seem to be quite the same as my brother's."

Neither of these two were children of any kind. And know that sometimes it's not their family that's the best.

Whether or not people with special Pokédexes were strong, they didn't know, but these ones with special Pokédexes must be characters they couldn't afford to mess with is all.

Although even without using that Special Pokédex they could clearly tell that this contestant in front of them was different from theirs.

After all, those bigwigs around him, even if they didn't all know each other, one or two of them were still recognizable. These bigwigs that they couldn't even come into contact with were surrounding a person, how could such a person be simple?

During Rope's registration, the entire registration venue was silent. Everyone looked at these serious-faced bigwigs with bated breath, wondering if Kanto was about to face another crisis.

"Yes, yes, Professor Rope!"

Seriously Nurse Joy herself hadn't quite reacted yet.

Though she also knew from her family that the one in front of her had many hard backers behind him, even that he himself was a big backer. But he had never seen the image of so many top ranked bigwigs in the League standing together over personal matters...

And it was just a small matter of registration.

The registration process was simple, just swipe the Pokédex on the special machine. The badges earned were previously scanned on the Pokédex. So the number of badges a player has earned is also recorded in the Pokédex chip.

But badges are not real names...

That's why there's badge grabbing and trading of badges in anime.

League still has some beastly thinking.

"I'll do it myself, loto!"

Rotom certainly doesn't let just anyone touch him, not even Nurse Joy.

So... he flew himself over to the machine that swiped the Pokédex, and lay down on it, keeping the chip on the back close to the machine.

"Ding! Entering... Rope from Pallet Town, entry credentials: eight badges, regional professor recommendation, regional champion recommendation..."

And so, Rope's entry registered.

But what came after that... there was more...
