Chapter 223 - Steven’s Arrival

Rope splayed out into the hot spring and then showed a look of enjoyment.

"Eh~ Comfortable~"

Rope said with enjoyment.

It would be a lie to say that Rope wasn't tired during these months of traveling.

After all, Rope hadn't missed a single step of the road. The dangers he had to encounter were also not missing, even more than the others.

So you'd be surprised if he wasn't tired.

And in the pool, Charizard rested his tail on the outer edge of the pool and soaked his body in the water with the same look of enjoyment.

Growlithe dog-paddled in the sizeable pool. Looking all excited. After all, he hadn't swum since that Cerulean Gym fight.

Chimchar was likewise lying on his back at the edge of the pool. Flaming ass still burning in the water, the water near him became boiling.

Fire Pokémon were able to withstand high temperatures, and they were more sensitive to temperature perception. So the comfort of the hot springs was something they could feel.

This Gastly was diving under the water. Actually, this kind of activity was of little use to Gastly. Ghost-type Pokémon don't usually feel tired physically. Mentally and psychologically still.

On the other side, Entei barred his paws on his head and rested on the outer edge of the pool. Again, a look of enjoyment.

And little Lugia formed a large water balloon in the air. He was lying down in the water balloon. The water balloon kept spilling water down, like a shower. And the water in the pool was constantly sucked into the water balloon. A dynamic balance was formed.

It had to be said that the Ocean Authority was really convenient.

On the other side of the pool, Whitley and Snivy and Foongy were also soaking in the hot spring with a face of enjoyment.

Although Whitley was added in halfway, she was also younger than Rope, and her physical strength and whatnot was worse than Rope, a non-human. So if we really want to say that she was tired, Whitley was definitely more tired than Rope.

The other two little ones were comfortable. One of them hadn't been out much, and one had just been born. They are both grass-type Pokémon, and if you ask me, they like water more than water-type Pokémon.

Whitley didn't have a homemade shower, so he could clearly see the sky outside.

Because this world's energy and transportation have the help of Pokémon. For example, the power plants were not thermal power, hydroelectricity and madness, and there was some solar energy as well. But generating electricity with electric Pokémon is the mainstream.

And transportation, although there are also vehicles and everything exists. But in fact, the more commonly used are Pokémon, such as the Galar region's Corviknight Flying Taxi.

Of course...you have to be certified to fly...

Far from it...

Because there are no more of these things, the air in the Pokémon world is very good. The sky has also been hand azure color instead of gray-blue.

The stars twinkled in the sky, and there was no need to wait for a clear night in the sky; almost every night, if you raised your head, you could meet up with a bright river of stars.

From time to time, meteors appear as well.

Although Rope said that most of the meteorites were shot away by Rayquaza. But it is still very beautiful.

The starry sky always makes people yearn for it.

Whitley looked at the distant and vast starry sky, and countless reveries flashed through his mind.

"Foongy, Snivy, what do you say, will we have the chance to go to space to have a look?"

Whitley said with some longing.

Foongy and Snivy looked at each other.

[Sister Foongy, what's space?]

Snivy handed out a puzzled look.

[It seems like it's far, far, far away and very, very high up!]

Foongy said seriously.

Snivy nodded in realization. Then turning his head, he jumped to Whitley's side and patted Whitley's arm.

"Fujito! Fujitsu! (If you go any farther, if you find the right direction and walk on, you'll get there! That's what I knew in my egg!)"

Inherited a motto?

Whitley was more or less in tears. What kind of skills did people inherit, Chimchar inheriting a set of stick skills was outrageous enough, you inheriting a motto was unique.

"But to be able to imprint such strong beliefs in your DNA. Your parents must have been great Pokémon too!"

Whitley stroked Snivy's head and said with some emotion.

It had to be said that in this world, these teenage kids who started to single out the wilderness kids had a similarly different sense of life.

Whitley rolled over again and looked up at the twinkling stars.

"So where's our focus, again?"

"Whitley! Don't soak and simmer too long! Be careful of soaking and passing out." Rope's call came from the doorway. Soaking in the hot springs was certainly comfortable, but it wouldn't be good to actually get dizzy.

"Alright! Got it, going out later!"

Whitley shouted.

"Okay, I'll go ahead and toss dinner with the boss, so be careful!"

"Got it, got it!"

"You girl..."

Rope shook his head with a faint smile.

Then it went towards the other side.

And in the hot spring, Whitley smiled and said to herself, "What's the point of thinking so much, there's still a long way to go!"

After saying that she got up in a flash and then stretched.

——————————————

In the kitchen, the gentle-looking boss watched as she was cooking for Whitley with her own hands. The group is Rope smiled and said, "Little brother you are so good to your sister!"

She had been running an inn on Cinnabar Island for so many years, and she had rarely seen this kind of guest who would take the initiative to come and cook on their own.

"It's good to be idle, so why don't you do some cooking. Boss, you make great snacks!"

Rope said to the boss with a smile, then picked up his chopsticks and choked on the boss's snacks, exclaiming in admiration.

The boss hid his face and smiled, "Guests are too kind, it's just the experience of so many years."

"Haha, I've been cooking for many years!"

——————————————

After the meal, Whitley contentedly laid down on the tatami mat with a satisfied face and said, "Is this the traditional food of the Kanto region! Yummy, yummy, yummy! Why don't you usually make it, Rope?"

Rope calmly cleared the table, then said, "In the wild, the simplest and most delicious is the curry from the Galar region."

Whitley thought about it, then nodded rather agreeably. After all, for curry, you only need to bring the raw materials, and then other things like tree fruits or whatever can be found readily.

After all, in the forest, there were still a lot of tree fruits.

Compared to these things, curry was indeed simple and delicious.

"But if you really want to eat it, I can also make it for you once in a while."

Whitley then nodded more contentedly, and a little later, opened her mouth to ask, "Rope, shouldn't I learn cooking from you... so that I won't be able to hold my hand if I have to travel on my own or if I have to cook for someone else in the future."

"It's fine if you want to learn. After all, it's definitely not a loss to learn more. But there's no point if you really don't like it." Rope shrugged and said, "Cooking is something that still depends on hobbies, you only go back to thinking about how to make it better if you like it. If you don't like cooking then it's just going to be out of your mind."

Although Whitley didn't quite understand what Rope meant, she still said, "Let me try it out, if you like it or not, you have to try it out before you can have a say!"

Rope nodded approvingly and said, "En~ Not bad, this time we've hit the nail on the head."

"Tomorrow we will have a day off, and the day after tomorrow we will go back to Pallet Town. we will teach you again the day after tomorrow, and then you can also follow Daisy to learn how to make Poké Puff and various desserts, and see which one you like to make more."

"So tomorrow we just rest?"

Whitley looked at Rope with a skeptical look on her face. After all, she and Rope had been out traveling for so long too, and there hadn't been any days where they were actually resting...

"Er, not really..." said Rope, scratching the back of her head, "Steven's coming over tomorrow to drop off a gift for me. I said it was okay to wait until I got back to Pallet Town to deliver it, and he said he wanted to come to Cinnabar Island for a couple days too, so he might as well just drop it off at Cinnabar Island."

Whitley smacks his lips, "Hoenn Champion! I hear it's super strong!"

"Indeed, it's definitely top notch in the Championship too." Rope nodded approvingly.

"But he should be stepping down soon."

Hearing Rope's words, Whitley looked up in confusion and asked, "What? He's still young, and the Alder Champion is ready to step down because his partner went. I remember Steven the Champion was still young if that."

"A regional champion and the chairman of the largest business group in a region...do you think it's possible for one person to hold both positions?"

Rope shrugged and said, "Even if Steven is as reassuring and noble as he is, people won't allow it...it's not even a matter of committing a taboo or not...even if Steven doesn't have the heart for it, do you think that Devon will be ironclad internally? "

"As long as someone else is replaced, even if it's Wallace, who has an excellent relationship with Steven, there's no problem. Because Steven and Wallace are personal friends and have nothing to do with Devon."

Whitley spat out her tongue, "Politics again."

Rope shook his head, "You were involved the moment you became my apprentice, and sooner or later you had to know. I don't take the initiative to tell you, but I don't have to keep it from you if you ask."

"That said, Mr. Steven is here to deliver Fire Stone for you? It doesn't seem necessary if it's just Fire Stone."

Whitley felt that something like coming to Cinnabar Island to play was basically a front. After all, if they really wanted to come and play no one else had the time and energy, would Steven not? Furthermore, he hadn't heard of any particularly valuable stones around Cinnabar Island.

Then there's no way Steven would come here to play.

What kind of tourist attraction is a tourist attraction without a mine to dig????

"He said that he also prepared a gift for me to become a PROFESSOR, and I don't know exactly what it is..."

Rope shook his head and said helplessly. He knew that what Steven gave out was bound to be precious. After all, Steven was the kind of person who would send mega stones to all the trainers he looked after. This time, the thing he gave away wouldn't necessarily be more expensive than a mega stone.

But it must be something with greater significance...

"How did you geeks make so many friends." Whitley was surprised, Rope always said he was a geek, but he knew a lot of people.

"It's not like making friends is all about time spent together. As long as you have the right appetite, if you chat a little more, you're naturally a friend..."

Rope scratched his head and said with little understanding. He simply didn't understand why anyone would find it difficult to make friends.

Whitley's mouth twitched slightly and decided not to make a fool of himself discussing this with Rope.

The guy was on the verge of becoming the League's social grass without much in the way of social time. If they really let the guy off the hook to make friends...

——————————————

Rope looked at the small black dot in the distance and said to Whitley, "Nah, that's Steven, can you feel the power of his Metagross?"

Whitley nodded seriously. If it was Whitley before receiving the blessing then she wouldn't have felt that huge and vast psychic power at all. but after receiving the blessing, she realized why a lot of Pokémon lost their fighting spirit when they saw those powerful Pokémon.

This sense of oppression was really hard for people to resist.

Rope looked at Whitley whose small face was tense, rubbed her head and smiled, "Don't be nervous, what are you nervous about, it can still eat you? Don't worry, I'm here."

The truth was exactly the same. In a place that Whitley couldn't see, when Rope and Whitley appeared within Metagross's perception range.

Metagross shuddered, nearly throwing off its grieving Steven.

"What's wrong?" Steven asked as he steadied himself, then grimaced.

It wasn't often that Metagross reacted like this, it was during the head-on encounter with Rayquaza when Groudon and Kyogre and Rayquaza were returning to Hoenn.

"Patchoume...(over there) I see Professor Rope, but Professor Rope gives me the feeling...like a very strong Pokémon..." Metagross's voice resounded in Steven's mind.

When Steven heard this, he suddenly remembered the rumors of Rope violently whacking the Ultra Demon God that were legendary within the Alliance.

Unfortunately, there were no images circulating. So it was just a rumor.

But judging from Metagross's current reaction... those rumors might actually be more than just rumors...

"Let's go, let's go see our friend." Steven smiled calmly, no matter what Rope had become. As long as the heart hadn't changed, everyone would remain good friends.

Metagross nodded (physically) and then accelerated forward.

It didn't take long for Steven and Metagross to have seen Rope and Whitley by his side...and the little Lugia poking her head out of her backpack...

"Long time no see, Steven!" Rope greeted him, then gave Steven a big yes hug.

Steven smiled and hugged Rope as well.

"It's been a long time indeed... you've changed quite a bit, you're not always feeling sorry for yourself like you used to..."

Steven said happily.

Steven was naturally happy to see his friend visibly moving on to better things.

The duo cut loose and Rope pointed to Whitley beside himself and said, "This is Whitley, my student."

"Hello Champion Steven." Whitley said in polite greeting.

Steven smiled and said, "Just call me Steven." After saying that Steven began to start hunting around in the bag that was resting on Metagross's back behind himself.

While searching, he complained to Rope, "Rope you guy, you didn't tell me when you took on a student, I didn't even prepare a gift ahead of time..."
