Chapter 43 - Ch 43

Yang Kai was sitting in a lotus position, in the cell with a serious look on his face. His face occasionally darted towards the depth of the Disciplinary Hall as he felt the intense Qi Fluctuations and occasional echoes.

"Don't tell me Brother Feng is getting beaten inside, right?", he thought to himself worriedly. Just as he was wondering if he should just break out and rush in or just believe in his friend and wait for him.

He saw a blur fly past him in a dash, followed by a a layer of frost appearing around the cell bars and ground.

He was slightly surprised at the scene and felt a chill all over his body, "just who was that?"

....

Su Yan frowned as she neared the room, feeling that something was unusual. Her Qi leaked out, causing a veil of mist to emit from her.

The mist drifted towards the door of the room and froze it into ice. Su Yan, who was still flying forward with her momentum, stretched out her arm, touching the door.

The moment her hand connected to the door, it instantly shattered into a cloud of mist and frozen splinters. Causing the room to be filled with a faint shroud of mist for a second.

Su Yan stepped into room with slow but firm steps, the fog dissipating as she walked into the room with narrowed, serious eyes.

But even she, who was cold and indifferent most of the time because of her cultivation technique, was not immune to the shock she felt after seeing the condition of the room.

Her eyes widened as she looked at the cracked and dented room, her experience and strength making her realize nearly just how much strength was used to leave the room in such a sorry state.

Her eyes then travelled to the occupants of the room, one. by. one.

She first saw a disciple at the 4th Stage Qi Transformation Realm, the disciple laid unconscious on the ground with not too many injuries, except a few scratches and bruises.

She looked to the side, seeing a disciple at the 6th Stage Qi Transformation Realm, fainted against the wall, his hand bleeding as his head fell forward while his back was against the wall.

Her gaze then shifted to the other side, seeing another disciple at the 4th Stage Qi Transformation Realm. This one seems to have been thrown from a distance and had a hand broken. His unconscious body laid on the ground, his back facing the ceiling.

And finally, she looked a little ahead of the center of the room and her heart thumped.

She saw a disciple laying on the ground, his visible hand, face and shoulder bleeding. Upon the body of the disciple, laid another body, just upside down. This disciple had many scratches on his body, his robes full of cuts and his skin bruised and bleeding, while a dagger laid near his hand.

Both of these disciples were at the Peak of Qi Transformation Realm!

Finally, Su Yan looked above the two bodies, where a young man sat, using the two unconscious bodies as his seat.

She saw that the disciple's clothes had been torn from places, had many cuts that made his skin and bulging muscles visible, his skin revealed cuts, bruises and blood. She looked up at the disciple's face, feeling a grip at her heart, as if a pressure of bloodthirsty demon was locked onto her.

She saw the disciple's disheveled long black hair sprawling all over his face, his lips bleeding slightly, his sharp face looking downwards, making the shape of his face even more prominent from the shadow cast over it.

As if sensing the newcomer looking at him, the disciple raised his head up. His dull golden eyes opened, revealing the terrifying battle intent and blood energy underneath.

The disciple smirked as he saw Su Yan's shocked look as if looking at something entertaining.

"You sure took your time, Su Yan~", Wang Feng said as he looked into her eyes with a smirk. While Su Yan involuntarily gulped,

she felt that she could faintly see a Giant illusionary Golden Skeleton hovering over Wang Feng with Seven Different Colored lines flowing through it.

.....

While in the Elder Council Hall.

High Heaven Pavilion's Grand Elder Wei Xi Tong, the Second Elder Su Xuan Wu, the Third Elder He Bei Shui, the Fourth Elder Zhou Fei and the Fifth Elder You Zi Zai had all gathered.

The five major elders sat in two opposing groups, one group was led by the Grand Elder Wei Xi along with the Fourth Elder Zhou Fei and the Fifth Elder You Zi Zai sitting behind him.

Similarly on the other side, sat the Second Elder Su Xuan Wu and the Third Elder He Bei Shui.

This represented the current Elder factions within High Heaven Pavilion.

The previously clashing Wei Zhuan and Su Mu were kneeling on the ground on their respective sides and had finished narrating the things that had occurred earlier in the day, in their own ink of course.

The elders sat after hearing the two reviews that although the same in the beginning, started deviated greatly in the later part. To be exact, from the moment Wei Zhuang was struck with a Hammer by Su Mu.

Su Mu explained that he had just struck Wei Zhuang at that time with anything that was near him in desperation and frustration of Wei Zhuang using the armor, which was forbidden in by the sect's law, in a friendly duel.

While Wei Zhuang insisted that it was a hammer that Su Mu had used at that time. He also went ahead and said that the one named 'Wang Feng' had stepped forward, interrupting the duel before he slandered and disrespected him and the Great Elder before attacking him.

Su Mu told how Wei Zhuang accused the 'innocent bystanders' before using his position as the 'Great Elder's grandson' to force the 'Honorable' Disciplinary Hall Disciples to attrest them unjustly.

While Wei Zhuang told that Wang Feng and Yang Kai first attacked the Disciplinary Hall disciples, but when they knew they couldn't hold on, they surrender.

Now, after Wei Zhuang had slyly apologized to Su Mu for using the Armor, resolving the matter between them. The elders were sitting quietly while looking at the two with their own thought, or more like their faction's thoughts.

But the most important thing that they took note off, and had them thinking was, "who is this Wang Feng?", because from Wei Zhuang's description and statement, Wang Feng was a prospective disciple, which only an elder could have.

The five looked at each other with confusion. The Great Elder spoke, "Second Brother, Third Brother, have you accepted this 'Wang Feng' as a prospective disciple?"

Elder Su Xuan Wu thought for a moment, thinking if he can take advantage of this situation to get Wang Feng out, but after thinking about it, he sighed and shook his head, along with the Third Elder.

"Then, how come there is such a prospective disciple that we don't know off?", the Great Elder spoke with a glint in his eyes. Wei Zhuang caught the meaning of that glint and spoke before the other's could.

"He... couldn't have stolen it, right? After all, none of the honorable elders know about him...", he spoke, keeping his tone measured.

Su Mu's eyes widened as he retorted, "that can't be it! Because only the elders have the tokens, how can someone steal them from the elders?"

Elder Su nodded his head. But the Great Elder narrowed his eyes and glanced towards the fifth elder. The elder suddenly spoke, "Oh I seem to remember that I have lost one of my tokens when I went to the sect mine!"

Su Xuan Wu narrowed his eyes as he spoke up, "Fifth brother, speak truthfully. There's no way you always carry your tokens with you all the time."

The Third Elder besides him spoke, "Also, Fifth Brother. You seem to have forgotten that you have already used up all of your tokens. I remember that you used the last one to secure that girl Zhao Fei Xue."

The fifth elder froze. He didn't think that the Third Elder was keeping tracks so he coughed and said, "oh, right. I seem to have truly forgotten. Apologies Senior Brothers."

"No matter if he did or not steal it. Having that token without the Elder's permission is a crime in the sect's law!", seeing that the tactic failed. Wei Zhuang shouted while banging his hand on the chair.

Su Mu's grandfather, Elder Su instantly shot up from his seat, "Enough! Have you all no shame! There is no such law in the sect and you know it Senior Brother!!"

Wei Xi Tong's face turned sour, but Elder Su didn't stop there. He continued, "the sect master had left you incharge while he went into retreat to have you maintain the prosperity of the sect till he came out, not to outright subvent his authority and rules as you please!", Elder Su said as he banged his hand on the table in front of him, turning it into smithereens.

He then turned to the Fourth Elder, Zhou Fei, who was the head of the Disciplinary Hall, "and you Fourth Brother! You were supposed to be the upholder of justice and rules of the sect. But under you, the Disciplinary Hall has turned to nothing but someone else's tool for control."

Elder Wei Xi Tong's face turned increasingly grim, while the Fourth Elder wasn't much better. Fourth Elder looked at Elder Su and said in a slightly strained voice, "Alright, but you have to admit that the action of attacking the Disciplinary Hall disciple and disrespecting the Elder Council is still against the rules."

Elder Su remained calm and collected and spoke, "And? Do you think this would have happened if the Disciplinary Hall was just and upheld justice as it was supposed to?"

He then looked at all three of them and the two kneeling boys, "as for disrespecting the Elder Council? How are we to decide that, huh? On whose words? These two brats?", seeing that the three elders were quiet as if waiting for what he would say.

He snorted as he continued, "From your reason, I should also punish this Wei Zhuang brat as he had also disrespected the Elder Hall, shouldn't I?"

Wei Zhuang's face paled while Wei Xi Tong's face blackened. He looked into Su Xuan Wu's eyes and said, "and if I insist on punishing them both?"

Wei Xi Tong had heard of the two disciples from his disciple's subordinate, Cao Zheng Wen. He knew how the two had beaten many disciples of higher Cultivations with ease.

Although he was impressed with their strength, he also felt a threat to his position. Elder Su was already ahead of him in a few points because of Su Yan being the number 1 disciple of the sect.

Now, If these two new disciples also took his side, he could envision himself losing a lot of control over the next generation of the sect. So he wanted to punish these two and then somehow brainwash or bribe them to be loyal to him, but for that, he needed time.

And if the two didn't agree... 'well, it's not a first when geniuses disappear.'

He was determined. As long as the sect master wasn't present, he wasn't afraid of anyone. He wanted to use this opportunity to make it clear to the general population of the sect that his faction was the true leader and decision maker of the sect.

Su Xuan Wu looked back at him with narrowed eyes, understanding his thoughts, "Tomorrow....", he started, looking at everyone in the room, "I will be reporting everything to the Sect Master. "

Instantly, all the elder stood up as Wei Xi Tong and his group panicked. Wei Xi Tong, who was feeling smug and determined just a second ago, suddenly tensed. They were about to stop Su Xuan Wu and convince him. But a voice spoke from outside the hall.

"Great Elder! Someone has broken into the Disciplinary Hall and broken the disciples Wang Feng and Yang Kai out of their cells!"
