Both Tryson and Arthur instinctively lowered their heads, confusion thick in the air between them—until a sharp, rhythmic beep broke the silence. 

In perfect sync, their eyes widened as they both noticed the small, twinkling device fastened to their ankles, its crimson light pulsing ominously with each beat.

Tryson's breath hitched. 

The realization struck him like a blow to the chest. His gaze slowly lifted toward the one person he never expected this from—his father. 

Shock, betrayal, and disbelief warred on his face.

The gadget was unmistakable.

 A red electric transfer device. 

Deadly. 

Lethal. 

One simple activation, and both he and Arthur would be nothing more than a fading memory.

 It could end them both in the span of a single, merciless second.

"Father..." Tryson's voice cracked under the weight of the moment.

 His heart pounded like war drums as the truth settled in, bitter and cold.
