Chapter 222 - Chapter 222: Bardock and Gine

Yamiru's words shocked the other three present...

Ghost 1: "You... you can hear our voices? You can understand us? Oh my, that's amazing..."

Ghost 2: "Not only that, you even called our names directly. It seems that we appeared here suddenly... because of you?"

Korin, however, was even more shocked.

At first, it was surprised by Yamiru's words. It had already been astonished by Yamiru's golden eyes allowing him to see ghosts, but when Yamiru called out the names of the two spirits, it was even more bewildered. When those two wandering souls responded to Yamiru's words, the confusion in Korin only deepened!

"Can someone tell me, what exactly is going on here?" Korin scratched its face with its paw, "You two aren't wandering souls, but souls moved from Hell? Why does Yamiru know you? Yamiru, don't you think you should explain a bit?"

Ghost 1: "Huh, this cat can actually understand us..."

Korin jumped and said, "How rude! I'm an sage!"

Ghost 2: "In fact, we also need some answers. Young man with the golden eyes, I see you're ready to answer the questions we three have in mind, right?"

Yamiru slowly nodded...

---

More than eleven months ago, after Yamiru left Mount Paozu.

Son Gohan returned to his little house and learned about the note Yamiru had left for Son Goku. The note told Son Goku that if he had the chance, he should gather the Dragon Balls and ask the Dragon Shenron to fulfill the wishes written on the note. It also specifically asked Son Goku not to look at the contents of the note, and when making the wish, it would be best if he didn't know what the contents were.

Confused, Son Gohan opened the note left by Yamiru and saw the following written:

"Dear Shenron, the following is the wish I'd like to make: Please allow the souls of Son Goku's biological parents, Bardock and Gine, who died with the destruction of the Saiyan planet, to stay with Yamiru on Earth until the next Dragon Ball wish is fulfilled. If this wish cannot be granted, please inform the reason and ask Son Goku if he has any other wishes. That is all."

Son Gohan was very surprised by the content of the note. After confirming it again and again, he folded the note and put it away, muttering, "This is too risky..."

---

More than a month ago.

Seeing that Son Goku was carefree and had no intention of going down the mountain to collect the Dragon Balls, Son Gohan thought for a long time and finally decided to ask Son Goku to leave.

"I feel like I'm not strong enough yet, Grandpa."

Son Goku wagged his tail and took the note that Son Gohan had kept. The original one had long been worn out, so Son Gohan had rewritten a new one and tucked it into his clothing.

"Never mind, since Grandpa said it, I'll go out for a while. Collecting Dragon Balls should be fun."

The young Saiyan chuckled as he called on the Flying Nimbus.

Son Gohan handed over the Four-Star Dragon Ball that they had kept at home, then gently patted Son Goku's small hand and, after a long pause, smiled and said, "Go ahead, kid."

"Okay!" Son Goku responded and, with a shout, rode the Nimbus and soared into the sky.

Son Gohan gazed at the distant golden cloud and murmured, "Why not just wish for Goku's parents to come back to life directly? What's the reason? It seems Yamiru is more level-headed than I thought..."

He thought about the image of the Saiyan that the young Galactic Patrol officer had described.

"Unlike Goku, who is such a pure-hearted child, his parents were already mature Saiyan warriors. If they were resurrected on Earth recklessly and became enemies, even if that Galactic Patrol officer came to Earth, he might not be able to stop them... Moreover, the Saiyans have the transformation into the Great Ape, which increases their power tenfold."

The old man only needed to think for a moment—how terrifying would the destructive power of an adult Saiyan warrior be, especially after the tenfold increase from the Great Ape transformation?

"And if I think about it, Yamiru should have already been at Korin Tower by now." Son Gohan looked off into the distance, "Master Roshi also spent three years to pass Korin's test back then. Yamiru should still be at Korin Tower, right... So, if Goku's wish succeeds, his parents' souls will appear next to Yamiru, next to Korin at Korin Tower, and even at the feet of the Kami in the legendary temple the Power Pole leads to."

"If the souls of Goku's parents are judged by the kamis to be unjust, evil, or a danger to Earth…" Son Gohan, having lived for many years and having had time to think about the meaning of the note left by Yamiru over the past ten months, had come to nearly all the conclusions. "I'm afraid Yamiru won't collect the Dragon Balls again next year to truly resurrect them. After all, no matter how much he cares for Goku, he wouldn't want to bring an invincible enemy to Earth."

The old man patted his back, sighed, but quickly smiled and went back to his house to rest.

Meanwhile, Son Goku, riding on the Nimbus, joyfully gazed into the distance. "Ah, it's been so long since I went out. If I'm going to collect the Dragon Balls, I need to borrow the Dragon Ball from Bulma and the others first~ Hmm... let me think, which direction is West City in? Nimbus, take me there! Yoho—!"

He quickly arrived at Bulma's house in West City and borrowed the Dragon Radar.

"Hmm, Yamiru hasn't returned to Mount Paozu yet?" Tights, having heard the news, was a bit surprised. "Is he still at that Korin Tower? Hope nothing's wrong..."

Son Goku replied that he didn't know where Yamiru was.

Ultimately, trusting Yamiru, Tights wasn't too worried.

After waving goodbye to Bulma and the others on the ground, Son Goku's next stop was directly to Fry-pan Mountain—oh, now it should be called Cool View Mountain.

Because of Son Gohan and Yamiru's influence, the Ox King was of course happy to give Son Goku the Seven-Star Dragon Ball that Yamiru had previously returned.

"Thanks, Uncle," Son Goku said, storing the Dragon Ball. "Now I have two. Hehe, this is so easy~"

Chi-Chi, standing by the Ox King, asked as she looked at the boy on the Nimbus, "Can you bring my mother back?"

"Last time Yamiru asked Shenron, it seems it's not possible," Son Goku said. "People who have passed away are usually reincarnated quickly. Only really good people go to Heaven, and really bad people go to Hell…"

The Ox King said, "What a pity…"

Chi-Chi felt a bit disappointed, but Son Goku smiled and said, "I'll ask Shenron again for you~ If it's possible, I'll bring you back next time~ Goodbye, Uncle, and Qi-Qi~"

Watching the Nimbus fly off into the distance, the little girl murmured, "It's Chi-Chi…"

---

And today, ten minutes ago.

Son Goku also worked hard and finally gathered all seven Dragon Balls.

When Shenron was summoned, the sky turned dark, the winds shifted, and a golden dragon appeared! Son Goku marveled in awe and asked about bringing Chi-Chi's mother back. Shenron said it wasn't possible, as the soul had already been reincarnated.

"What a pity…" Son Goku said, then closed his eyes, unrolled the note, and held it up for Shenron to see. He said loudly, "Shenron! Please do as written on the note! This is my wish!"

Shenron, likely stunned, had probably never encountered such a request before.

Meanwhile, far in another dimension, in a strange universe, an old man with glasses, strange antennae on his forehead, and an ancient appearance was watering plants. Suddenly, he stumbled and adjusted his glasses, mumbling, "I can't believe there's someone like this... Haha, interesting, interesting~!" He laughed heartily. "A little cleverness, but it's pretty fun~ I'll grant your wish!"

---

Back to the present.

At Korin Tower.

Faced with the confusion of the three, Yamiru slowly spoke, "The one who brought you here from Hell is your son, Kakarot."

Upon hearing Yamiru's words, even the calm Bardock couldn't remain composed...
