Chapter 109 - My Bullet Has a Taste You've Never Experienced

Whoosh—

Whoosh—

The spider silk wrapped around two Chitauri.

Cindy swung her arm forcefully and smashed them into a trash bin on the street—Bang!

She successfully saved a group of elementary school students carrying their backpacks.

"Thank you, big sister."

"No problem, now run along."

After seeing the kids off...

Chen Ying approached her cautiously with a small handgun in hand, her eyes scanning the now-empty street.

"There don't seem to be that many of those things left..."

"Yeah."

Cindy looked toward the blue light pillar—there weren't as many dark specks over there anymore. "Someone must be stopping them."

Chen Ying guessed, "Probably superheroes like you."

"Maybe."

Cindy activated her suit's communication function, trying to contact Skye. "I'll ask the clu—"

Bang—

Before she could finish speaking,

The girl suddenly dropped to her knees, clutching her head, screaming in pain, "Ah—!"

She looked just like Gwen back at the manor—maybe even worse.

"Cindy!?"

Chen Ying immediately caught her in her arms, pulling her into the corner of a building for cover.

Her other hand held the pistol, the muzzle shifting direction constantly, looking for any possible enemies.

"Did those monsters hit you with something?"

"It was me who hit her."

A tall, dark shadow loomed overhead.

Morlun appeared in front of the two girls.

A cold smirk hung on his face. His aristocratic European attire clashed starkly with the surrounding Chinatown scenery.

"I…"

Cindy, leaning against Chen Ying, caught her breath and weakly said, "…I can't feel it anymore…"

Her headache was gone, but her Spider-Sense was incredibly weak, as if she had reverted to a normal person…

No…

Rather…

Her Spider-Sense was completely gone…

"The 'Bride' at the center of the Web of Life... I suggest you don't struggle—it'll only result in a pointless fight."

Morlun rubbed his two sharp nails together. "Without your spider-sense, you won't last more than two rounds."

"Who are you?"

Chen Ying pointed her gun at the tall, eerie figure.

"You must have mistaken her! Cindy is Silk, not some 'Bride'!"

"Same thing."

Morlun glanced at the gun in her hand. "Don't point that toy at me."

By the time he finished speaking—

Only his afterimage was left behind!

No—!

[WARNING! Left-side attack!]

Even though Cindy's Spider-Sense had failed, her suit's 'Web' program alerted her.

So, just as Morlun was about to take out Chen Ying, Cindy grabbed her and swung them both away—!

Boom!!

Morlun's punch missed and struck the ground.

But he wasn't angry. Instead, he turned to look at Cindy swinging between the buildings and sneered.

"Looks like you've got a few tricks left... but they'll only buy you a few more seconds."

A golden portal suddenly opened mid-air.

Brix leaped out from it, throwing a dagger that precisely cut Cindy's web.

He was Morlun's younger brother, another member of the Inheritors.

"Watch out!"

Without her Spider-Sense, Cindy couldn't react in time to the broken web, only able to shield Chen Ying as they free-fell.

Bang!

She crashed onto the ground, but thanks to her suit's protection and her own resilience, she didn't face any serious harm.

But Morlun and his brother Brix had now had them surrounded.

The Inheritors wouldn't send just one person to this universe to capture the unique "Bride" among the Spider-People.

"What now?"

Chen Ying stood back-to-back with Cindy, hands trembling as she held her gun. "These freaks seem stronger than the alien monsters..."

Cindy: "They're..."

Peng—!!

Morlun and Brix didn't give them a chance to talk. With a gust of wind, they charged again.

But—

At that moment...

Bzzz—BOOM!!

An energy blast intercepted Morlun stopping him dead in his tracks.

Clang!

Iron Man landed from the sky, standing in front of Cindy. "What's going on here, Miss Silk?"

"One sec!"

Cindy didn't answer Stark right away.

Instead, she put all her strength into a kick that sent Brix stumbling back.

Then she quickly patted Chen Ying's shoulder and said: "Now's your chance—get out of here! This has nothing to do with you, and it's not something you can handle!"

"Okay!"

Chen Ying nodded.

She knew time was short, so without saying anything more, she turned and dashed into a nearby alley…

Cindy then turned to talk with Tony.

"Mr. Stark, right? Thanks for the help. What brings you here?"

Tony: "I heard from Li..."

Da! Da! Da-da-da!!

Just as he started to speak—

A string of gunfire rang out—

Dadadadadada!!

Ye Li walked toward them slowly.

In his left hand, he held a golden AK, spraying bullets at Morlun. In his right hand, he casually sipped bubble tea...

Morlun found it laughable, letting this ridiculous fellow shoot at him, "You think a toy like that can hurt me?"

The bullets sank shallowly into his flesh but were quickly pushed out.

The wounds healed in moments.

As members of the Inheritors—mutated vampires—they naturally had monstrous healing abilities.

"So, you're Morlun."

Ye Li figured that was enough and stopped firing.

He slung the AK over his shoulder and walked right up to Morlun. "I heard you guys are pretty cocky."

Morlun: "..." (Why do I feel like you are even cockier?)

Watching Ye Li casually stroll right up to him—

Morlun raised his hand, ready to finish this fool.

"I've never met someone as dumb as you. Gotta say, it's an real eye-opener.."

Ye Li casually scratched his back with the muzzle of his gun and said lazily, "Oh, forgot to mention—friendly tip: My bullets are laced with nuclear radiation~"

Morlun: ??????
