Chapter 44 - The rise of the new God systems

As I get off from my seat, I look around, seeing my other classmates doing the same as we head out of class. This was our last class after all for the day. He thought life was going to get easier after he enrolled in the system builder academy, which was mandatory for every citizen of this realm.

This place was known as the system realm, where the descendants of the first system user made this realm for his bitch-ass kid who did not inherit his divine power to make a system.

Personally, his family traced their roots back to him 50,000 generations to the first system user.

As he made his way back to his dorm room, he decided to activate two of the inherited powers of everybody who lived in this room obtained after birth.

"Status."

[Name: Izana Darkwolf]

Age: 16

Race: System Builder

Bloodline: The first gamer bloodline.

Talent: ???.

[Stats]

Body: 2

Mind: 6

Soul: 6]

You see, system makers have to manually awaken their talents in order to begin their creation of systems, as then they know both their talents that they could use to better the system and make them stronger.

A system maker has to concentrate deep inside themselves and feel something inside of them of which they must connect with, and then their talents will awaken.

Currently, I was running out of time since his graduation; leaving the Academy was almost here. He had around a month until he took the exam to finish the academy.

And he still hadn't unlocked his talent. Not for lack of trying, he tried every method, but he still could not unlock it. Not even a simple talent.

As I decided to try it again for the 50th time, I focused my magic on my soul core as I looked deep into it, finding nothing until, surprisingly, I found a light… no, a darkness, pure, unadulterated darkness devouring the very fabric of darkness it was supposed to be made of, and with a bit of interest, I willed for a connection with the said thing, and not long after, I felt my brain get overwhelmed by knowledge of my talents that I had just awakened and how to use them, making me groan before the overload of information stopped, and I opened my eyes with a gasp before looking at the screens appearing in front of me.

[Ding! Your soul core has mutated!

[Ding! Your soul core has evolved.

Smiling at the messages, I immediately opened it, but looking at the way it was named, I wondered why it was called that but decided to ponder on that later as I immediately opened my status.

[Name: Izana Darkwolf]

Age: 16

Race: System Builder

Bloodline: The first gamer bloodline.

Talent: [True King S+], [True Devouring S-], [Knowledge Devour S-]

[Stats]

Body: 2

Mind: 6

Soul: 6]

[Knowledge Devour S: The talent allows you to 'devour' knowledge of anything that holds it, giving you instant comprehension of said knowledge, giving you an appropriate skill level of your mastery over said knowledge, while giving the user muscle memory of knowledge gained if physical.]

[True King S+: The talent allows you to gain higher respect between your peers and other people, gaining high respect from your accomplishments and making people want to follow you.]

[True devouring S-: The talent allows you to devour fallen enemies, gaining everything from them, from their physical stats all the way to their skills and talents, completely devouring their souls.]

Wow, I thought as I saw my 3 S-rank talents in shock. But I immediately got over it since I saw people with better talents than mine, but this was still surprising. Seeing that I had three since it was usually normal to only get one S rank.

But now he could use these talents to make very good systems. You see, a system maker has the ability to use 'anything' they own to create or upgrade their systems, meaning even their talents, bloodlines, abilities, and skills, and all they have to create their system, which most have done after gaining trash talents to increase their system's power, as it would then give their host that talent while also further increasing the chances of that host's success in its endeavors.

But it is of no problem; I'll make plans.

Shaking my head, I closed my status and grabbed a pencil from my drawer and opened my system creation function and put the pencil as an ingredient before finalizing the system creation protocol without using any more ingredients along with the main one, and a couple of seconds later, a small, crystal-like shard holding inside it a worm-like creature appeared in my eyes.

[Item: The Wood System.].

Rank: Lv-1—F

Description: A system created by a system builder using unknown methods using his very soul.

Capabilities:

• Will give the host the ability to manipulate wood and minor manipulation of graphite, clay, and rubber.

• Will give host quests to give stats points and experience to make his skills better.

• Will give the host eventually higher-level skills around the concept of the system (wood, minor concepts, graphite, clay, and rubber).

Wow, I thought as I looked at all the abilities my system got for just being a simple system created with a pencil. I shook my head and opened my forms window before crushing the shard, releasing the worm-like being inside as it shone and disappeared.

Entering my bed, I closed my eyes, wanting to go to bed immediately so tomorrow, when there are no classes, I could go to the library and take all their knowledge that I possibly could.

Immediately falling asleep with a smile, I anticipate the coming days with a smile.

The last thing I remembered was the sharp pain in my ribs as my brother thunder manipulation Quirk sent me flying across the training field. Another spar. Another loss.

"Useless."

I heard the word echo in my head as the world went black.

But instead of the void, something... woke me.

A soft glow pulsed in my chest. Like a heartbeat not my own. I gasped as energy surged through me, bringing me back from unconsciousness.

[Ding!] [You have been chosen by the Wood System.]

[System initializing… Binding to host: Arata Hoshino.]

"What the hell…!?"

I jerked upright, nearly falling off the infirmary bed. My body felt light. My hands trembled not from fear, but energy.

A translucent blue window floated in front of me like some kind of game screen.

[Name: Arata Hoshino]

My eyes widened as more windows popped up. One of them showed a small worm-like being floating in a glowing crystal before dissolving into my body. I felt a subtle shift inside me.

"You… you're real?" I asked, feeling dumb. Am I going crazy?

[Affirmative. I am the Wood System. I exist to assist in your growth. Your body has been scanned. Baseline strength: below average. Intelligence: average. Soul resilience: passable. Conclusion: sub-optimal. Recommendation: Immediate Quest initiation.]

I stared. "Sub-optimal? Wow, thanks."

[You're welcome.]

"…That was sarcasm."

[Noted. Uploading humor database… error. Humor not found.]

I exhaled, still shaken but strangely thrilled.

[Quest Available!]

[Title: "Sprout"]

Objective: Use the Wood System to grow and manipulate basic wood material.

Reward: +1 Stat Point, Skill: "Basic Wood Manipulation (Lv-1)"]

I clenched my fists. Time to test this thing.

-later-

I crouched near a tree, glancing around to make sure nobody was watching. Then, I raised my hand and willed something to happen.

At first, nothing.

Then… I felt it.

A tug in my chest. A connection. The tree trembled, and then a splinter shot off the bark, hovering midair before me like a floating dart.

I gasped. "No way…"

With another thought, the splinter grew twisting, branching until a small wooden spear floated before me.

[Skill Unlocked: Basic Wood Manipulation (Lv-1)]

[Quest Completed. +1 Stat Point awarded.]

I looked up, a million thoughts racing.

-Izana-

The morning light filtered through the window of my dorm room, casting a dim glow over the scattered books and half-finished projects that filled the space. I groggily sat up, rubbing my eyes. The surge of information from last night still buzzed faintly in my mind, like an echo of something both exhilarating and overwhelming.

I stretched my arms, feeling the strange sense of power pulsing in my body.

"Time to get to work," I muttered, pushing myself off the bed.

I left the room and made my way toward the library. The building was a vast, sprawling structure, the kind that seemed to swallow anyone who entered. It was known for housing the most extensive collection of texts in the System Realm, with knowledge from countless worlds, races, and dimensions. Most of it had been... acquired through less-than-legal means, but I wasn't in a position to be picky.

The air inside the library smelled of dust, old parchment, and magic. Hundreds of thousands of books lined the shelves in every direction. The mortal books were scattered on the lower floors, while the upper levels were reserved for the forbidden books dark, dangerous knowledge that was usually kept hidden.

I walked past rows of ancient tomes, my fingers brushing along the spines as I searched for something useful. The library was silent, save for the soft rustling of pages and the occasional cough from a lone scholar in the corner. My eyes scanned the titles, and after what felt like hours, I found a few books that piqued my interest. Books on biology, genetics, and engineering knowledge I could devour and convert into power.

I turned to the back of the library, where few people went. It was out of sight.

I opened the first book, inhaling deeply. Then, I focused.

[Ding!]

[You are devouring "Biology and the Human Body: Fundamentals and Advanced Techniques"...]

The book turned into a swirling mass of black energy, a concentrated note of knowledge. It shot into my body, and I felt the immediate surge of information flooding my mind. I closed my eyes, groaning as the raw knowledge overwhelmed me, but it didn't hurt. It was exhilarating. Every molecule of the book's content absorbed into my cells, sinking deeper into my soul core, becoming part of me.

I repeated this process with several other books. Each time, the energy that entered me was like a surge of raw power skills, concepts, techniques, everything.

When I finally opened my eyes, the glowing screen appeared before me once again, reflecting the skills I had gained.

I had devoured the knowledge of dozens of books, and now, I was far more than I was yesterday. My body was still weak, but my mind my skills were now formidable. I could manipulate biology, engineer incredible technology, understand complex systems of the universe, and even defend myself with martial arts and weapons.

But I wasn't done. Not by a long shot.

After closing the last of the mortal knowledge books, I turned toward the glowing runes on the floor indicating the path to the magical archives. The atmosphere immediately shifted magic hung heavy in the air, thick and humming with raw energy. This section was older, darker, more dangerous... but I didn't hesitate.

I made my way to the Elemental Magic section, brushing my fingers across the spines of ancient tomes. Fire, water, earth, wind, lightning they were all here. Without wasting time, I activated Knowledge Devour, pulling in the essence of each book until I felt the surge of elemental mana course through me.

[You've learned skills:]

• Fire Magic — Lv.64

• Water Magic — Lv.34

• Earth Magic — Lv.68

• Wind Magic — Lv.45

• Lightning Magic — Lv.35

Next.

I moved to the Mind and Soul Magic and Space Magic sections. These were guarded behind minor wards, but nothing that could stop me. I spent hours devouring books, learning the art of mental domination, illusion, memory crafting, spiritual binding, and soul-layer manipulation.

[You've learned skills:]

• Mind Magic — Lv.37

• Soul Magic — Lv.39

• Space Magic — Lv.28

Satisfied, I put the final book back on its pedestal, my smile growing sharper.

And then I found a single tome that got my interest due to the black cover and skeleton symbol on top of the cupboard.

Necromancy.

My brow arched. A grin split my face.

[You've learned skill:]

• Necromancy Magic — Lv.5

The rush of death's knowledge slammed into me like a wave. I staggered, then steadied myself, devouring book after book, my hunger growing. Though limited in number, every book was precious.

[Necromancy Magic — Lv.58]

Just as I was about to leave, something… called to me.

As I walked past a dark section, my hand brushed the spine of a book that wasn't like the others. It was cold.

A pure black cover. No title on the spine.

But when I pulled it from the shelf, glowing red letters crawled across its surface.

[The Book of Death]

The moment I touched it, a strange familiarity flooded me. This wasn't just a book. It felt like the system I had created earlier.

I was tempted to open it, to see what secrets it held... but I decided to get it. So I slipped it into my bag, careful not to activate any of the wards around it.

Soon, I thought.

Exiting the library with my usual neutral expression, I made my way back to my dorm room. The final exams were just a month away, and despite my overwhelming progress, I couldn't afford to slip.

-Arata Hoshino-

Dust settled over the ruined exam field, littered with broken chunks of metal, shattered robots, and deep wooden roots jutting out of the ground like spears from the underworld.

He stood at the center of it all, his hoodie ripped, his expression calm unbothered as the remains of the Zero Point Robot toppled behind him with a crash that shook the stadium.

He exhaled slowly, lowering his hand. Massive pillars of twisted wood and blackened graphite curled behind him like wings, crackling with energy. The air smelled of sap and ozone.

[Quest Completed: "Future Hero"]

[Objective: Crush the U.A. Entrance Exam]

[Bonus Objective: Defeat the Zero Pointer]

[Rank Achieved: S]

[Reward: +10 Stat Points, Skill Upgrade Token, Title: "Sprouting Legend"]

The System chimed in his head, calm and mechanical.

[Congratulations, Arata. You are currently ranked Number One among 937 applicants.]

He rolled his shoulder as he walked toward the exit gate, the broken remains of a robot sliding off a sharpened wooden spike behind him.

This is inspired by marvel: system maker I thought the concept was cool but the author stop writing it and focusing on a different story instead of the system maker shit like he used to do. And I haven't seen anybody else do this this concept before except me and one of my older fic in Spanish. I even got click banded by a fucking Chinese novel titled: God of systems and something else GOD I hate original novels in this piece of shit website. Give me any system ideas if you want me to included.
