I cursed as I stared at the keeper who had a blank look on her face as if a sharp knife wasn't pressed against her neck. She stood in front of the man in the midst of all the shattered relics and fallen bodies, a calm expression on her face. Her long white robes were stained with ash and it also had tiny specks of blood on it. The blade the man was holding pressed against her jawline and I clenched my fist tighter when I noticed a trickle of blood starting to roll down her pale skin and yet, she just stared ahead and I was starting to think perhaps it was mercy that she couldn't see. The horrors in front of her wouldn't have kept her upright.
"You take that like knife of that little girl!"
"Little?" The man asked his voice tinged with disbelief as he pressed the knife a little tighter, "There's nothing about the little about her. She seems to know so much for just a little girl!"
