From the picture, the Pokémon resembled a small fox cub with a sleek gray-black body, light blue pupils, dark red eyeshadow, and two red eyebrow-like markings. A tuft of fur on its head fluffed up like a flame.

"This little fox still looks cute."

Rachel walked over to take a closer look and offered her thoughts.

"Yeah, it's cute... but I wonder how strong it is. Though judging by Logan's face, he's already smitten."

Shane chuckled, noticing Logan's glowing expression as he stared at the fox.

"Oh please, you're all missing the point!" Edward chimed in with a smirk.

"Let's just admit it — Logan's obsessed with fox Pokémon."

"No, no, no!" Logan pushed his glasses up, putting on a calm yet smug expression.

"I'm not as shallow as you think. This isn't about appearances — it's about the deep spiritual resonance between me and this Pokémon."

He swept his hair dramatically to the side.

"There's a bond that transcends logic — a fate that ties me to this Pokémon!"

"...It's literally just a picture." Edward stared blankly.

"You wouldn't understand." Logan maintained his calm demeanor.

"This connection spans across dimensions!"

"Pfft... Yeah, and I bet it's a male too."

Edward snorted.

"Don't jinx it!" Logan's cool exterior cracked as he shot Edward a glare.

He'd been hoping to raise a female fox Pokémon for ages — if this one turned out to be male, he was going to scream.

"Boss! How strong is this Pokémon?" Logan asked Alex Gao eagerly.

"Hmm..." Alex Gao gave Logan a strange look, unable to suppress a smile.

"You're actually pretty lucky today. This Pokémon is called Zorua, and it's an excellent Pokémon."

"Excellent?!"

Logan's face lit up. Alex Gao rarely praised a Pokémon with words like that unless it was top-tier.

"Yeah, Zorua's powerful," Alex confirmed.

"It evolves into Zoroark, a T1-level Pokémon with impressive battle potential. Plus, it has a special move called Night Daze, a powerful Dark-type attack unique to Zoroark."

"YES!" Logan practically jumped with excitement.

Even Charlotte and the others couldn't help but be impressed — Logan had drawn a seriously powerful Pokémon.

"Boss! I'll take it! No hesitation!" Logan declared.

"Please wait a moment." Alex Gao smiled and disappeared into the back room.

Moments later, Alex returned... but instead of a fox, a pink Hoppip bounced in behind him.

"...Boss? Where's my fox?"

Logan stared in disbelief.

"That's Zorua," Alex chuckled.

"Huh?"

Everyone looked confused, but before they could ask, the Hoppip suddenly shimmered — and transformed into the familiar black and gray fox cub they had seen on the screen.

"What the—?!"

Edward's eyes widened.

"This... what just happened?" Rachel blinked in shock.

"Hehehe~"

Zorua giggled mischievously, its sly grin brimming with pride.

"What was that?!" Lily gasped.

"That's Zorua's ability — Illusion," Alex Gao explained as he scooped up the playful fox.

"It can disguise itself as any Pokémon or even a human, creating a visual illusion to deceive others."

"That's incredible!" Lily's eyes sparkled with awe.

"Boss... can it turn into... a human?" Logan asked, his excitement growing.

"Technically yes, but..." Alex's smile faded.

"Let me make this clear — this Zorua is male."

"...Male?"

Logan's face froze.

"Yep."

Alex's expression turned serious.

"And its illusions are just visual tricks — no physical changes. Don't get any weird ideas."

"NOOOO!!!"

Logan fell dramatically to his knees in despair.

"Another male fox... WHY?!"

"Pfft... Guess you're stuck with your 'destined bond' after all!" Edward teased.

"That doesn't matter!" Logan declared, snapping back to his feet.

"Even if he's male, he's still my Zorua! And one day... he'll become the Phantom Tyrant!"

"Phantom Tyrant?" Rachel repeated curiously.

"Yeah," Alex Gao explained.

"Zoroark's illusions are so powerful that it's said to create entire forests of deception, trapping humans in never-ending loops. It's even earned the nickname Phantom Tyrant because of how terrifyingly real its illusions are."

"That's so cool!" Rachel gasped.

"Of course, Zoroark's illusions are defensive by nature," Alex added.

"They're meant to protect themselves from danger — not harm others."

"Man... Zoroark sounds like something straight out of a myth," Shane muttered.

"That's why it's so rare and valuable." Alex nodded.

"I'll take it!" Logan shouted.

"Alright then, Zorua will be 650,000."

"Worth every penny!" Logan swiped his card without hesitation.

"From now on… I, the Illusion Master, will take over the world!"

Logan dramatically swept back his hair and posed as if he'd just claimed his ultimate prize.

"I bet he's gonna dye his hair brown, wear a white trench coat, and start calling himself a 'Phantom' or something…" Edward muttered.

"I WILL stand in the sky!" Logan declared proudly.

His friends burst out laughing.
