Chapter 228 - Chapter 43: The Unexpected Strength of Moryo

"Sage of Six Paths? How dare you disrespect Lord Moryo! Today, we must kill you!"

An ominous purple-black aura radiated from Rasa and the others. Corroded by Moryo's power, they had completely lost their reason and judgment.

"Die!" A young male ninja charged forward, gripping a kunai. With Moryo's blessing, his speed and strength had reached an astonishing level.

Yet, the Sage of Six Paths remained motionless, as if he hadn't even noticed the attack.

Only when the ninja closed in did he casually wave his right hand. A black Truth-Seeking Orb shot out.

There was no impact, no flames, not even a sound. The moment the Truth-Seeking Orb touched the ninja, he simply vanished, erased as if wiped away by an invisible hand.

And this time... there was no resurrection.

The battlefield fell into a stunned silence. Not only were the shinobi from Heaven Village shaken, but Rasa's side was even more terrified. Their greatest trump card had just been rendered useless.

Without the ability to resurrect endlessly, how could they maintain their arrogance?

"Maybe... we should retreat?" Some had already begun to waver, but the more cunning among them knew better.

After accepting Moryo's power, could they really just retreat as they pleased?

Rasa, one of the clever ones, stepped forward and shouted, "Do not fear! He is just one man!"

"And there's no way this is the real body of the Sage of Six Paths. If his true form were here, then who would be guarding Lord Moryo?"

At this point, he could only gamble on their combined strength to take down this Six Paths avatar.

Seeing morale recover, Rasa led by example and launched his attack first.

"Magnet Release: Gold Dust Tsunami!"

A massive wave of shimmering gold dust surged forth. Compared to ordinary sand, the attack power and speed of gold dust were on an entirely different level.

In the blink of an eye, the tidal wave of gold reached the Sage of Six Paths and came crashing down, seemingly trapping him in a hopeless situation.

But of course, that was impossible. Even a mere fraction of the Sage's power was beyond comprehension, let alone a full-fledged avatar.

After all, he was the Sage of Six Paths.

A title that defined an entire level of power.

A deep blue chakra began to swirl around his body, rapidly shifting and assembling into a towering figure.

The figure grew larger, flesh forming and solidifying. Armor materialized, wings unfurled, and in its right hand, a radiant blue chakra sword took shape.

It was a fully manifested Susanoo!

And from its sheer size and overwhelming aura, it surpassed even Madara Uchiha's, standing on par with the Ten-Tails itself.

The once-devastating gold dust tsunami now seemed like little more than splashing waves. The force that could grind steel to dust failed to leave so much as a scratch on Susanoo's armor.

Within the colossal form, the Sage of Six Paths sat cross-legged, floating in place. With but a thought, Susanoo raised its sword and swung.

"No!" Screams of disbelief echoed through the air as a large number of enemies were cleaved in two. Yet, just as they were about to regenerate, multiple black Truth-Seeking Orbs shot forth, erasing them completely.

At this, even Rasa lost his nerve. He turned to flee, but found himself unable to move.

What was happening?

Panic gripped him as he saw a mass of purple-black energy surging from behind. The energy coalesced in midair, forming a monstrous entity with countless writhing heads.

Moryo.

With a deep inhale, Moryo reclaimed the power it had bestowed upon Rasa and the others, leaving them to wither and die. It paid them no further mind, instead focusing on the enormous blue giant before it.

"Sage of Six Paths, I have returned. What can you do?"

Inside Susanoo, the Sage of Six Paths furrowed his brow.

"You've gathered more power than I expected. So this was all a trap to lure the anomaly of fate."

Moryo's countless heads twisted and coiled in the air. One of them slowly extended forward, its crimson eyes locking onto the Sage.

"Hehe... Even though he isn't here, killing your avatar is still a fine consolation prize," Moryo whispered malevolently.

"You overestimate yourself," the Sage replied, as Susanoo once again swung its sword.

Slash!

A head fell, but Moryo remained unfazed. The rest of its heads halted their writhing, gathering energy. Then, like striking vipers, they shot forward all at once.

"Sage of Six Paths, become one with me."

"Together, we could rule this world completely. Is that not a desirable fate?" Its words dripped with sinister temptation as its countless heads coiled around Susanoo, constricting it like a serpent ensnaring its prey.

Dark purple energy radiated from Moryo's body. Like a red-hot knife cutting through butter, it began to melt and dismantle Susanoo.

Hearing Moryo's words, the Sage's face remained unreadable. Clearly uninterested in conversation, he pressed his hands together and conjured a seemingly insignificant black sphere.

The sphere drifted into the sky, stopping just as it eclipsed the sun.

Then, it trembled.

Buzz!

A nearly imperceptible sound resonated, followed by an unimaginable gravitational pull. The force was akin to a black hole, greedily devouring everything around it.

Grass, rocks, trees, buildings, the ground itself—nothing was spared. Even Moryo.

The shinobi of Heaven Village braced for the worst, fearing they too would be drawn in. But with a simple wave of the Sage's hand, the gravitational pull near them disappeared entirely.

Then, as Susanoo gripped the writhing Moryo, the Sage took advantage of the momentary distraction and hurled it skyward.

Moryo's colossal body was instantly sucked into the gravitational mass.

"Moryo, this fragment of your power will remain here," the Sage declared.

Sealed against the growing core of the Chibaku Tensei, Moryo struggled as more and more debris coalesced around it. In mere moments, its form was completely buried within a newly formed celestial prison.

But just as the gravitational pull waned, and it seemed the seal was complete—

Boom!

A deafening explosion ruptured the sphere from within. From the dust and debris, Moryo's monstrous form emerged once more, unfazed and imposing.

Gazing down at the Sage of Six Paths, whose expression finally showed a flicker of surprise, Moryo let out a chilling, malevolent laugh.

"Sage of Six Paths, you didn't expect me to be this strong, did you?"
