Chapter 127 - Vampire City II

Hundreds of small, glowing red eyes pierced through the darkness. Bats—countless of them—flocked together like a living storm, their shrill screeches filling the air.

Blade's lips curled into a grin. "Let's test something new," he said, raising his hand.

A burning golden light ignited in his palm. The next moment, he unleashed Sun Flare—a blazing sphere of pure sunlight that erupted outward like an explosion. The darkness shrieked in protest as the golden fire engulfed the sky, vaporizing the incoming bats instantly.

" Magic sure is convenient" Mercedes said as he nodded.

" Its also cause they are pretty weak" Blade said as she nodded.

Before they could relax, low growls echoed from the shadows. Wolves, their eyes gleaming with bloodlust, emerged from the darkness. These weren't ordinary wolves—they were Vampire Wolves, larger than normal and radiating an unnatural aura of menace.

Blade wasted no time. With another Sun Flare, he incinerated the first wave of wolves instantly.

They continued hunting the familiars roaming the streets, steadily accumulating experience and valuable items. Before long, they found themselves standing in front of a towering, old-fashioned gothic high-rise building.

"There are around ten of these buildings?" Mercedes observed, scanning the area.

"We need to search them quickly and thoroughly if we want to find the boss," Blade said.

"The boss is probably in one of these," Blade added as Mercedes nodded in agreement.

With that, they entered the first building.

"It's really spacious. It looks even bigger inside than it seemed from the outside," Mercedes remarked, scanning the vast hall.

"This could be a problem," Blade muttered. "It's better to fight in a narrow space where we can control the battlefield."

Mercedes nodded. "Yes. This place is completely open, with no cover at all. If we're surrounded, it'll be difficult to defend ourselves."

Their voices echoed throughout the hall, emphasizing its vastness. The first floor alone could accommodate at least 2,000 people. The ceiling stretched all the way up to the seventh floor, and two grand staircases led to the upper levels, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

"Not to mention all these coffins here… I guess our targets are inside," Blade said as he raised the Sun Sword. The moment he unsheathed it, the entire hall lit up as if the true sun had descended upon the darkness.

"Arghhh! light?! Why is it light?!" Vampires groaned as they began to wake up due to Sun Energy that naturally radiated from Blade.

Mercedes stood beside him, eyes scanning the area. "We should wake them one by one. If we open too many coffins at once, we'll be overwhelmed."

As they moved through the hall, they could see hundreds of coffins lining the walls, some decorated with intricate carvings, others simple but foreboding. The oppressive silence was soon broken by a long, eerie whistle.

" its too late for that"

Whistle~

Blade exhaled sharply, gripping his sword. "Looks like we've got a lot of guests," he muttered, watching as several coffin lids slowly creaked open.

"Here we go," Mercedes said, readying her sword.

The coffins creaked open, and the vampires emerged. Their pale skin, long fangs, and glowing red eyes gleamed ominously in the dim light. As they scanned the intruders, their gaze locked onto Blade and Mercedes.

"This fragrance… how delightful," one of them murmured, licking his lips.

"As soon as I awaken, I am blessed with fresh human blood," another chuckled darkly.

The vampires were the top predators of the night. There was no fear in their expressions, only amusement and hunger at the sight of the two invaders.

'Fast!'

Unlike the low-level vampires that roamed the continent, these vampires were elites, their combat power ranging between Level 280 and 350.

"Give me your blood! I shall savor it!"

"Ohuhut~ That knight's neck looks especially clean… I wonder how it tastes?"

In the blink of an eye, 200 vampires charged toward Blade and Mercedes, their speed immense.

"They're fast!" Mercedes said, gripping her sword tightly and subconsciously covering Blade.

Blade, unfazed, raised his Sun Sword, its golden light flaring like a miniature sun. "Then let's slow them down."

With a single swing, a wave of holy flames erupted from his blade, engulfing the nearest vampires in scorching light. Screeches of agony filled the hall as their skin burned, the divine energy searing through their undead bodies.

"Arghhhhhh!"

"What is this?!"

"Is he… a Demon Slayer?!"

For the first time, the vampires felt true pain. They had experienced attacks before, but they always healed instantly. However, this time was different—their wounds weren't recovering.

It was all because of the Sun Sword.

The weapon's passive ability blocked the vampires' regeneration for up to one minute, its divine radiance suppressing their undead nature. Though these were elite vampires, far superior to the lower ranks, even they were completely unable to heal for several moments.

Their red eyes flickered with something they hadn't felt in centuries—

Fear.

"Mercedes, now!" Blade commanded, taking advantage of their momentary weakness.

Mercedes nodded, her blade flashing with silver light as she charged forward, cutting through the stunned vampires like a storm of steel and magic.

Mercedes' aura shone with a beautiful silver light, flowing around her like a graceful dance of blades.

Her swordsmanship was not just deadly—it was art.

With a single step, she closed the distance, her sword slicing cleanly through a vampire near her. The creature barely had time to react before it crumbled into ashes, unable to regenerate under the power of the Sun Sword's divine light.

At level 416, Mercedes was like a super-boss in this place. Compared to the vampires, she was on an entirely different level. Each swing of her sword cut through them effortlessly, leaving streaks of silver in the air as she moved like a phantom among the enemies.

Blade watched with a smile and captivated by her grace. "Damn… she's strong."
