Chapter 183 - 175

All of this is for Konoha's sake!"

Danzo spoke coldly.

Throughout his life, Danzo had carried Konoha's darkest burdens.

While the Third Hokage basked in praise and admiration, Danzo silently endured the shadows.

After the Third Hokage's death, Danzo shouldered everything alone.

He didn't care for fame or power — his only goal was to protect Konoha.

He would do what the Third Hokage dared not. He would kill those the Third Hokage refused to touch.

In short, he was willing to take on the darkness that no one else could.

That was the true role of Root — to bear Konoha's dark side and protect the village at all costs.

Even if the villagers despised him... even if the world ignored him... it was all worth it.

No one could comprehend how much Danzo had sacrificed for Konoha.

His path was paved with hardship, and his devotion hidden beneath layers of secrecy.

Now, with both Uchiha and Senju's power in his grasp, Danzo believed it was finally time to reveal his strength.

Returning to the Hokage's Office

Meanwhile, Uchiha Nanaya returned to the Hokage office with Tsunade — and the unconscious Root member, Dingzan.

"Master Nanaya, Master Tsunade!"

Shizune gasped in relief upon seeing them return.

She had been managing the village alone, and her nerves were wearing thin.

"Master Tsunade, you rushed out earlier to find Nanaya... What happened?"

"Ahem..."

Tsunade coughed awkwardly.

"Shizune, have those two old geezers been here?"

"You mean Homura and Koharu? No, they haven't been here. By the way, Tsunade-sama, who is this person?"

Shizune glanced at the unconscious Dingzan, puzzled.

"That old snake Danzo's man!"

Those three old schemers had tried to betray Nanaya, but Nanaya wasn't the type to let it slide.

Tracking the Targets

"Tsunade, don't bother asking Shizune or sending for those two old men. I'll just sense their Chakra instead."

Tsunade narrowed her eyes, thoughtful.

"Brat, the village isn't the place for a fight. If they're still in the village, avoid causing chaos."

"I know,"Nanaya reassured her.

Hearing their conversation, Shizune was left completely confused.

"Master Tsunade, what's all this about? Something happened with Homura and Koharu, and now there's talk of fighting?"

Tsunade scowled.

"As Hokage, those three old schemers have been pulling dirty tricks behind my back. Nanaya and I are going to deal with them now."

Shizune clenched her fists. She'd never liked Danzo, Homura, or Koharu — and hearing this only made her more eager to see justice done.

"This village belongs to Tsunade-sama. How dare they interfere?"

"Tsunade-sama, do you want me to summon Anbu or perhaps Kakashi to help?"

"No need,"Tsunade replied firmly. "I'll leave the village matters to you. The rest... Nanaya and I will handle it."

Locating the Targets

Nanaya concentrated, spreading his sensory abilities throughout the village.

Suddenly, he detected two familiar Chakras — Homura and Koharu.

They were in the back mountain of Konoha — Danzo's secret Root base.

A faint smile crossed Nanaya's lips.

"Got you."

Turning to Tsunade, he nodded.

"They're in the back mountain — all three of them."

Without hesitation, Nanaya grabbed Dingzan and dashed toward the back mountain with Tsunade following closely.

Danzo's Secret Meeting

Meanwhile, in Danzo's hidden Root base, Homura and Koharu remained unaware of the approaching danger.

Three Anbu stood guard by their side.

They had gathered here to discuss one thing — how to deal with Uchiha Nanaya.

Suddenly, a Root member named Shin Yamanaka tensed.

His sharp perception flared.

"Lord Danzo, this is bad! I think someone's sensing our presence!"

Danzo's cold eyes flicked toward the darkness.

This base was hidden with powerful Chakra-suppressing barriers. Even a skilled sensor ninja shouldn't be able to detect them from the outside.

"Are you sure, Shin? Everyone here is suppressing their Chakra — and the barrier should block perception."

Shin frowned.

"I'm sure... Just for a moment, I felt someone watching us."

His confidence wavered slightly, but his instincts had never failed him before.

Danzo's Doubts

Danzo's expression hardened.

"Could it be...?"

Danzo knew they'd gone to great lengths to eliminate Nanaya.

The trap had seemed foolproof — a perfect Jinchūriki, three Elite Anbu, and a deadly ambush.

Yet Nanaya had survived.

Danzo clenched his fist.

"If only I had taken care of Nanaya earlier... This was my mistake."

He still remembered the day the Third Hokage refused to eliminate Nanaya when he was a child.

Now, that same boy had grown into a major threat.

"Damn it... Over and over again..."

Regret flickered in Danzo's eyes.

Had he known that Uchiha Nanaya would become such a powerful force, he would have acted sooner.

Now, it was too late.

On the other side, Homura and Koharu were still on their way to the meeting point.

They grumbled about Danzo's decision to build his base so far from the village.

"That fool Danzo... If something happens in the village, how can we respond from here?"

"Two more minutes," one of the Anbu guards assured them.

Little did they know... their time was already running out.
