"Hey."
Hearing the voice, Ancient One immediately knew who it was. She assumed Hela had come to ask about the unfinished conversation from last time.
"Hela, I've already told you—I cannot provide any more information about the Emperor. This is for both our sakes."
The Emperor was far too mysterious. Ancient One couldn't risk using her magic to help Hela investigate further—it might provoke this formidable ruler from Asgard.
But Ancient One wasn't worried. She understood Hela well.
"Who said I came to ask you about the Emperor?"
Hela casually revealed the Time Stone she had kept hidden and handed it back to Ancient One.
Seeing the astonishment in the sorcerer's eyes, Hela knew there was no longer a need to have her divine when the Emperor would come to Asgard for her.
He was omnipotent. The moment he sensed the return of the Time Stone to Ancient One, he would naturally come looking for her.
With this, her goal was achieved.
"You...!"
Ancient One immediately retrieved the Time Stone and secured it back into her necklace. She hadn't expected the stone to end up in Hela's hands.
Had Hela rushed off alone to confront Thanos and then casually returned the stone?
Worry flickered across Ancient One's face. She stood up at once—this had to be clarified.
Thanos was a madman. If provoked, he could bring disaster upon Asgard!
"Hela, do you even understand the consequences of what you've done?" Ancient One's voice was laced with concern, and she couldn't help but wonder—how exactly had Hela gotten the Time Stone?
"Are you worried about what Thanos will do to Asgard?"
Hela stood beside Ancient One, the red carpet beneath them stretching across the grand, classical room. The ticking of a grandfather clock filled the air.
The room was eerily quiet. Ancient One raised an arm, forming a glowing orange magic circle. Now that the Time Stone had been returned, she needed to use its power—
To glimpse into Asgard's future.
Hela was too reckless!
But before she could peer into the future, Hela grabbed her arm, stopping her.
"There's no need to look. I already know. Thanos isn't capable of doing anything to Asgard," Hela said with confidence. "Other than dragging a bunch of worthless rabble to my doorstep, what else can he do?"
Yet, there was something that still lingered in Hela's mind—something Thanos had said.
Right now, he didn't have a single Infinity Stone. His top generals had suffered heavy losses.
And after their fight, she had a decent grasp of his combat style. If Thanos really was foolish enough to attack Asgard out of anger—
Let him come.
On her home turf, Thanos wouldn't gain the slightest advantage!
Ancient One fell into deep thought. If Hela was acting so recklessly, perhaps it was time to bring this matter up with the Emperor.
The only person who could restrain Hela… was him.
"But forget that for now," Hela suddenly changed the subject. A smirk curled her lips as she said, "I hear I have a dear little brother on Earth named Thor. Ancient One, help me find out where he is."
She smiled sweetly, but in Ancient One's eyes, that smile carried a deeply unsettling intent.
What did Hela want with Thor?
"You—"
Ancient One was about to ask, but as their eyes met, she suddenly realized—
She owed Hela a huge favor.
"So this is why you brought the Time Stone back to me…"
Ancient One sighed, her expression grim as she stared at Hela.
She had actually believed that their friendship was the reason Hela had rushed off alone to Titan.
