"Retreat!"
"Retreat quickly!"
The Kree commanders, their faces filled with terror, watched the man in the battle suit as if he was strolling through no man land, completely disregarding the Kree fleet of ships, over half of which had already been torn to shreds by this man bare hands.
The special alloy of the spacecrafts was like paper before him, offering no resistance whatsoever.
"How can there be someone so powerful? Who is he?"
"This guy is definitely not a nobody!"
"Run! Run quickly!"
The Kree commander orders reached the ears of the soldiers, who breathed sighs of relief as they maneuvered their ships to escape, their eyes filled with uncontrollable fear towards the man.
They had never encountered an enemy with such individual power.
This level of combat ability was godlike in their minds, almost an unbeatable entity.
What exactly was that orb?
Why would such a terrifying entity attempt to snatch it?
A series of questions emerged in their minds.
But Superman, realizing their intent to flee, didn't hesitate and swept his heat vision across, instantly slicing several ships in half.
Boom, boom, boom!
The ships fell, crashing into the city in the Knowhere, destroying high-rises and bungalows into ruins.
At that moment.
Citizens in the giant safehouse below the city, watching this astonishing scene through satellite surveillance, held their breaths.
Instead of feeling any anger towards Superman, they were exhilarated, admiring the powerful man immensely.
The universe was a place of survival of the fittest, much like Earth natural world.
The strong could have everything.
If your opponent is only slightly stronger than you, you would be full of jealousy, dreaming of surpassing him.
However, if the opponent strength far surpasses your imagination, you can only admire and aspire to be like him.
Superman existence exceeded everyone imagination.
Including the Kree.
They couldn't harbor any hatred towards Superman, instead despising their superiors for sending them on such a dreadful mission.
In the end, only a few Kree ships managed to escape.
They left the Knowhere.
Superman watched the few ships as they retreated until they disappeared from his sight, then turned his head back to look at the green-skinned woman who had been watching him but hadn't made a move.
The last Zen-Whoberi, Gamora.
Seeing Superman lofty demeanor and his emotionless, almost detached gaze, Gamora shivered, visibly tense, and her speech faltered.
"Sir, please allow me to introduce myself."
She began, but was interrupted.
"Gamora, daughter of Thanos."
Superman spoke softly,
"I know who you are, I know everything about you. We should have been adversaries, but your recent actions have spared your life… Now tell me, what is it that you've been staring and wanting to do?"
"Cooperate."
Gamora gritted her teeth, "Sir, I want to cooperate with you."
"Oh?"
Superman narrowed his eyes, "Because of Thanos?"
Elsewhere.
At the location where Carol and Yondu and others were.
The wall in front of Star-Lord was blown apart by a tremendous burst of energy.
Subsequently, several gazes pierced through the hole in the wall and landed on him, causing him to freeze.
"Star-Lord, Peter Quill, you have disappointed me."
Carol tone was calm, yet it made Star-Lord break into a cold sweat, his spine chilling as if he was under an immense, unprecedented pressure, making it nearly impossible for him to move freely, let alone take a step.
Star-Lord knew that Carol had locked onto him.
At the same time, the Black man beside Carol, Nick Fury, also aimed an energy gun at him.
Star-Lord knew that any slight movement would invite two lethal attacks piercing his body.
Although medical conditions in the universe far surpassed those on Earth, the chance of surviving being instantly blasted apart was less than ten percent, a dire survival rate.
That was assuming immediate medical treatment.
Without it, it was a certain death.
"I surrender."
Star-Lord immediately spoke up, "Whatever you want to do with me, I'm at your disposal, but I hope you can let them go. I know you're not bad people, please!"
His attitude was sincere as he knelt before Carol.
At this point, Star-Lord had no chance of turning the situation around his only option was to plead for mercy.
"Begging for mercy?"
Carol let out a cold laugh, seeing right through Star-Lord intentions.
"If it weren't for our strength, you probably would have taken the Orb and fled long ago. If begging for mercy worked, why would there still be so many deep-seated grudges in this universe?"
She looked down at Star-Lord, greatly disappointed in her fellow Earthling.
Still playing little tricks even now.
"You're wrong, any wanderer in the universe is not a good person."
Carol suddenly changed her mind.
After this incident, these people would surely harbor hatred towards her.
Little brats are troublesome.
As a member of the Ravagers, Yondu was also a strong force among them.
A bit tougher than the brats.
If these people were hired by enemies, it would lead to a whole set of problems.
Better to kill them and save the trouble.
As the thought crossed her mind, a flash of murderous intent swept through Carol eyes.
"Don't!"
Star-Lord, who had grown up in complex environments, keenly sensed Carol unguarded intentions.
He lunged at Carol, grabbing the energy gun from his waist and shooting at Yondu and the others nearby, breaking the shackles binding Yondu.
The next moment, Carol unleashed an energy blast that struck Star-Lord in the chest.
Star-Lord was sent flying, smashing into the dilapidated bungalow he was in, turning it into rubble.
Dust flew up, covering a large area.
At the same time, Yondu, freed by Star-Lord energy bullet, immediately started whistling.
On his head, the arrow broken by Superman was almost left with just the arrowhead.
The arrowhead was still usable.
In an instant, the arrowhead flew past all the companions handcuffs.
The entire Ravagers team was freed.
"Damn it!"
Yondu clenched his teeth, "This woman killed Peter. Since we can't escape anyway, let avenge Peter!"
"Avenge!"
"Avenge!"
The group, fists waving, charged at Carol and Nick Fury.
Nick Fury face paled as he backed off, firing his weapon.
The whizzing energy lines repelled the attackers while also getting heavily surrounded due to the overwhelming number of enemies.
Carol approach was much simpler.
The power she possessed was something Nick Fury couldn't match.
In the final battle, Carol even had the strength to fight Thanos, making her one of the top powerhouses in the universe.
A bunch of ordinary Ravagers members couldn't possibly pose a threat to her.
Among Yondu team, only Yondu controlling the remaining arrowhead could potentially harm her to some extent.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
The arrow turned into lightning, darting around Carol.
Carol dodged the arrow attacks, raising her hand to release a terrifying energy beam that struck the approaching Ravagers members, killing them.
One after another, members of Yondu team fell dead.
The situation quickly spiraled out of control.
Yondu eyes were red with hatred.
Over the years, the team he had built with his own hands was being decimated by this woman in front of him, losing a third of its members in just a few moments.
Even the most dangerous missions he had been on had never had such a staggering death rate.
"Damn bitch! Damnable woman!"
Yondu clenched his fists, his whistling becoming sharper.
Suddenly.
A blast from above momentarily distracted them.
"Spaceships..."
"The Kree ships are escaping!"
"We're doomed!"
Yondu heart sank at the sight.
If the woman before him, or rather, the Kree traitor, was still somewhat within their power to handle, then Superman, who had repelled the Kree ships, belonged to an entirely different dimension of being there was no equivalence between them.
At this moment, with that terrifying man free to act, their team was left with only one path—death.
The kind where no one could escape.
"Run!"
Yondu turned to his crew, "You all escape, I'll hold off this damn woman."
"Captain!"
"Go! Don't let the captain sacrifice be in vain!"
Yondu Ravagers, battle-hardened and in such a desperate situation, knew they really had no choice.
The group immediately stopped attacking Nick Fury and scattered in all directions, vanishing from the sight of Carol and Nick Fury.
The latter looked baffled.
The former, however, with a grave expression, stared at Yondu and scoffed, "Do you think they can escape?"
"Don't try to distract me."
Yondu coolly replied, "Whether they escape or not, I've created the opportunity for them the rest is up to fate."
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
As he spoke, Yondu did not cease his attack on Carol.
The arrow headed straight for Carol eyes.
Carol raised her hand to block, a semi-transparent energy shield stopping the arrow.
However.
From another pile of rubble, an energy bullet came flying.
The one who fired it was Star-Lord.
He wasn't dead.
Nick Fury was startled.
Carol, too, showed a look of surprise.
The energy beam Carol had unleashed had not killed Star-Lord.
"Tech undergarment?"
Carol eyes narrowed, "It seems you made quite the preparations."
"That right."
Star-Lord gasped for breath, enduring the pain, his teeth gritted.
The tech undergarment he wore, although sufficiently protective, could not fully absorb the impact of the attack.
He probably had two broken ribs.
"If I have to face you, of course, I have to be fully prepared. Even if I can't survive, I'll go down fighting with you."
Clearly, he had anticipated facing numerous scenarios.
This was just one of those he had envisioned.
And it was the worst one.
"Nick!"
Carol glanced at Fury.
"Leave him to me."
Nick Fury nodded solemnly, his face serious as he watched Star-Lord, who had been hit by Carol energy beam yet hadn't died, understanding that he was a tough opponent.
Although Nick Fury was a level-10 SHIELD agent on Earth and an unquestionable sharpshooter, after arriving in the universe, he was shocked to discover that literally everyone in the cosmos could use a gun.
In such an environment, being a sharpshooter was not a rare skill at all but rather a necessary skill for any cosmic wanderer, nothing remarkable.
Thus, Nick Fury most prized combat experience was severely diminished.
In other words, he wasn't special in the cosmos.
Unlike Carol or Superman, who were high above the rest, he was just an ordinary, inconspicuous wanderer.
Even Star-Lord was slightly above him in terms of status.
Thus, for him, Star-Lord was definitely a formidable enemy.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!
Both sides exchanged fire with energy guns.
The battle erupted once again.
Carol was suppressing Yondu in their fight. The arrow wasn't a big threat to her, but Yondu fearless fighting style made it difficult for her to free up to track down the escaping members of Yondu Ravagers team.
She could only hope for Superman now.
In thought, Carol distractedly glanced at the distant sky.
There, Superman, having finished battling with the Kree, seemed to have encountered something, staying atop a building rooftop.
"What is he doing?"
Carol frowned.
"You're distracted!"
Yondu eyes lit up, controlling the arrow to strike at Carol, aiming to pierce her head.
At the critical moment, Carol slightly tilted her head.
Her cheek was grazed by the arrow.
A strand of golden hair slowly drifted down.
"You hurt me, that worth celebrating."
Carol regained her focus, looking at her opponent with a hint of anger in her eyes, determined not to let Yondu off easy anymore.
"Hmm?"
Superman, who was speaking with Gamora, sensed the situation unfolding with Carol and slightly raised his eyebrows, somewhat surprised by Carol choice.
However, he didn't feel it contradicted Carol character.
As someone who had been operating in the cosmos for nearly twenty years, Carol had long proven she wasn't indecisive.
In some ways, she and Nick Fury were similar.
Confident and unscrupulous.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have agreed to leave the Skrulls on Earth.
"Cooperation is possible, but you need to show your sincerity."
Superman again looked at Gamora in front of him, deciding to quickly conclude their conversation.
"Since you've obtained the Orb, I believe you must know the secrets of the Orb and the legends of the Infinity Stones."
Gamora took a deep breath: "I know where the Soul Stone is."
"Alright."
Although Superman wasn't particularly interested in this answer since he already knew, it did show Gamora sincerity.
"Pleasure doing business, we'll talk more later, I need to deal with some trouble now."
After saying this.
A gust of wind brushed against Gamora face, painfully stinging her skin. She then realized that Superman had already disappeared, the wind gradually fading, but Gamora spirits began to lift.
She had finally seen a hope to escape Thanos control.
